Chapter 203
Judson moved through the tense atmosphere, his face showing a trace of displeasure.
Michael blinked, feigning innocence as he asked, "Want me to throw a wrench in the works for the second heir?"
If the second heir could make them uncomfortable, they could certainly return the favor.noveldrama
Judson tilted his chin slightly, and Michael leaned in immediately.
Moments later, Michael chuckled mischievously, "Don't worry, I'll make sure that useless heir gets this little gift."
Judson nodded almost imperceptibly. "Go ahead. I need to be with Nancy; she needs her rest."
Michael smirked, teasing, "I won't interrupt your couple time then." With that, he turned and left.
After all, at this moment, no one was more important than Nancy.
Once Michael had left, Judson quietly entered the hospital room. Watching Nancy sleep soundly, he
gently lay down beside her. Almost instantly, she cuddled into his arms.
Judson's lips curled in satisfaction, his strong arm pulling Nancy closer, a possessiveness gleaming in his
eyes.
Nancy was his. Cyrus could forget about taking her away.
Unaware of the events of the night, Nancy had stayed with Judson at the hospital for a full week until she was well enough to be discharged.
Early the next morning, Lenard spotted Nancy stepping out of her car and hurried over to greet her. "Hey, you finally made it! Didn't Judson come with you?"
"No, he just got out of the hospital yesterday, so I told him to rest at home," Nancy replied, a hint of amusement in her voice as she recalled Judson's near tears at her leaving.
Lenard visibly relaxed. "Thank goodness you didn't bring him to the studio. Cyrus has been popping up all
the time, and if those two run into each other again, there's bound to be trouble."
Nancy paused, her expression darkening slightly at the mention of Cyrus.
"That jerk! Didn't appreciate what he had until he lost it, and almost got Judson killed in the process."
Lenard's anger flared. "Nancy, let's seal the deal with Potter and show Cyrus just what he's lost!"
Nancy's eyes flickered with something unspoken, just as she was about to speak.
"Lenard, who are you... Miss Lena?" An unexpectedly pleasant voice interrupted.
Nancy and Lenard turned to see Potter stepping out of his car.
Nancy smiled warmly at Potter, "Good morning, Mr. Potter."
Potter's heart skipped a beat at her smile. Even though her gaze seemed distant, it stirred something inside him, reminding him of a teenage crush. A faint blush crept onto Potter's cheeks. "Good morning, Miss Lena. I heard from Lenard that Mr. Judson had an accident. Is he alright now?"
Lenard's expression was hard to read.
"He's fine, just got out last night," Nancy replied.
"Glad to hear that." Potter gestured politely. "I've been waiting to meet you for days. We should definitely discuss our ideas, and some stand-in models and actors will be here today."
Nancy nodded with a smile, following his lead.
Just as Potter was about to follow, Lenard grabbed his wrist.
"Go on in, Nancy. I need a word with Potter."
Nancy eyed Lenard's resolute expression and, though puzzled, chose not to question it. She nodded and stepped inside.
As soon as Nancy was out of earshot, Lenard's expression shifted, scrutinizing Potter.
"You still haven't given up on Nancy?"
Potter hesitated, his eyes betraying a hint of guilt. "Who says that..."
"You think I'm blind? The way you look at her is obvious," Lenard scoffed.
What do you think?
