The Seductress

CHAPTER 25

Selene shuts her eyes as she felt his lips pressed on hers. Shiver crawls down her spine as she fought the urge to kiss back. She hates men and she shouldn’t be enjoying this, but she found herself parting her lips and welcoming his tongue.

She reached for his hair and tugged at it, enjoying the new feeling she was having. Was this how if felt to be properly kissed?.

She let out a low shaky breath as he sucked on her lower lip, and she couldn’t help but breathe out a moan. Wayne trails soft kisses down to the hollow of her neck, nibbling and sucking on it. Selene shivers at his assaults as she bit back her moans.

He withdraws and stare at her closed eyes, there he did it. She opens her eyes to stare at him and they are glints of emotions in there, her cheeks flushed as she pressed her swollen lips together.

“I just thought you’d need that, to erase the tipsyness” He smirks at her and she bats her lashes.

Flustered, she gets into the car, slamming the door shut. Wayne chuckles lowly and gets in beside her before driving away.Têxt belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.

She’s gonna assume what he said was true. Maybe there wasn’t any feelings attached. She lean against the window and stare out. Holy shit!, did he just kiss her!? and whats more, She enjoyed the kiss. she moaned for fvck sake!.

The continuous thump of her heart against her ribs makes her sigh lowly. She leaned against the window and shut her eyes. It would take a long while to forget the feeling of kissing him. Soon, she was dozing off.

Wayne halts the car few meters away from the mansion and turns to watch Selene who had drifted off to sleep. Tendrils of hair covers her face as she parted her lips slightly. He had no idea why he did that. Maybe it was because she looked so vunerable, or could it be he was tempted by her plump soft lips. But either ways she tasted damn good. The hate he had always felt for her was replaced with something else, pity.

She didn’t really have anyone. She doesn’t appear to be close to Bill and all she does is keep to herself. He reached for her hair and tucked it away, his fingers slightly grazing her skin. Her eyes fluttered open at his touch and she sits up on her seat.

“I didn’t realize I’m home already.” She voice out sleepily, avoiding his piercing gaze as she unstraps her belt.

“You were too tired to notice that.” He shrugs and steps out of the car, opening her own side of the door. Selene picks up the suitcase and step out.

“Thanks…. even though it’s past work time you drove me home.” She gives him a small smile and he nods.

“Sure boss, it’s nothing.” He says and shuts the door.

“Are you still tipsy, should I walk you to the gates?” Wayne archs his brows as she run her fingers through her hair.

“Uh… No, I’m fine… Bill’s gonna drive the car in, goodnight” She mutter lowly. Wayne nods his head slowly.

“Goodnight Selene.” He says and she bats her lashes. She loves the way he says her name, if only she hadn’t asked him to stop calling her that.

She gave him another smile, before walking up the gates which opened automatically. Wayne watch her get in before he turns striding down the street with his hands shoved deep in his pockets, the kiss lingering on his mind.

Selene walks into the large living room and plump down one of the couches.

“Evening ma’am Selene” One of the maids bows. Selene kicks off her shoes and sigh.

“Evening Rebecca…. prepare a hot bath and I’d eat up in my room. I’m drained and I’m gonna eat a lot okay?” she ordered.

“Alright ma’am” She picked up Selene footwear and left to carry out the order. Selene relaxes into her seat and watch as the door open. Bill walks in from driving the car into the mansion.

“You didn’t inform me Zayne, your secretary would be driving you home Selene.” He says and walks towards her. Selene puffs out tiredly

“For starters it’s Wayne, and I was in so much hurry to wait for you Bill!” She didn’t really need this right now. She just returned from killing a guy, and then there’s she getting tipsy and Wayne kissing her. What she needed right now was to rest.

“You know, ever since that Zayne guy began to work for you, you’ve always been angry at everything and everyone. If you’re still mad about what he did that night, why don’t you employ another?” Bill blurts out in exasperation.

“Could you just cut the crap Bill!, I’m dead tired and I don’t need it!” She grits. Bill looks down at her and dilates his eyes.

“So, you guys are a thing now?” He voice out sadly.

“What the fvck do you mean?” She glare up at him. Bill chuckles.

“Your neck is bruised Selene, he gave you some fvckin love bites!.” He jabs his thumb at her neck

in anger, wishing he could rip the asshole out already. Selene shuts her eyes briefly. Gawd!.

“What the heck is wrong with you!” She snarls.

“I’m just looking out for you Selene!, I made a promise to Mrs Grace to do that!.” Selene clenches her teeth in anger.

“Don’t you dare use that to justify your actions Bill!. she told you to look out for me not poke your nose in my affair okay!… and this is the last time you’d do that!” She yelled and he flinched.

“What do you m-”

“You’re fired Bill, right motherfuckin now!” She deadpans and he paused to stare at her.

“You’re kidding me huh?… you can’t just sack me cos we got into an argument right?”. Selene scoffs and gets off the couch grabbing the suitcase with her. She was mad, mad at everything that happened tonight, how dare he make it worse.

“You heard me Bill, I can’t deal with your snoopy attitude anymore, I’d have your salary sent to you. You’ve got the whole night to pack up and leave…. and you dare not argue with me.”

Selene watches him and she saw the anger in his eyes. The first time he’s angry at her but hell she’s past caring.

Bill clenched his fist, knowing he didn’t stand a chance to be with her again. To stare endlessly at her perfect figure or get into bed with her. He finally nods and without hesitation he turns, and walks out.

Selene watched the door shut and she tighten her grip on the suitcase and wondered for a fleeting moment, if she was pushing everyone away.

Stacey groans as she rolled out of bed. Her head hurts like hell from staying up all night. She sits up on the bed and stare at the nightstand with the laptop on top. She sighed blearily and wrapped her hair up.

She had found out the ring seemed to have been passed down from all the females in Mrs grace family. From grannies to Mrs grace then Selene. Could be it was some sort of tradition but unfortunately selene isn’t her relative. She’s just some freaking successor that popped out from nowhere. Why would Mrs grace give a valuable ring to someone who’s not her relative?, sounds kinda suspicious. What had lightened up her mood was Damian, Mrs Grace divorced husband. She had followed him up and found out he relocated to Texas and was married to a younger woman. She had copied out his contact and had tried calling his home line, but the answering machine met her reply all the time.

She’s got the feeling that maybe Damian could help, maybe he knows something, about Selene or Mrs Grace. She hopes he’s gonna call back. She freshened up before striding out of her room to the kitchen. Melissa was already dishing out breakfast.

“Oh jeez Mel!… what would I do without you!, always preparing breakfast before we are up!” Stacey says with a low chuckle as she pulls her into a quick side-hug.

“Shut your trap bitch you only say that when I cook!” She rolls her eyes playfully as she drops a platter of pasta on the countertop. Stacey chuckles lowly.

“How’s Zoey, did they have an all night?” Stacey says with a scoff and sits on the stool.

“Thankfully no, the guy left and damn it he’s so huge… how does she take him all in dammit!” melissa blurts out and palm her temple. Stacey shrugs and began to dish out food.

“Zoey is always gonna be a bitch just like her name Mel, stop worrying about that, you might go crazy you know” she shrugs and begins to stuff food in her mouth.

“Whatever Stace, I’d just go wake her up I’m sure she’s hungover” She grits out and stride out of the kitchen. Stacey resumes eating as her mind drifts thoughtfully. if she ever finds out why guys are always attracted to selene, hell! she’s not gonna keep shut about it. She slide down the stool minutes later and gulped down a cup of water. She returns to her room just as her phone rings. Retrieving it from the nightstand she stared at the caller as her heart thumped loudly. It was Damian’s home line!. With shaky hand, she swiped at the receive icon and put it on record.

“Hi… I’m I speaking to Mr Damian?” She voice out immediately nervousness etched in her voice. There was a short awkward silence and the voice that answered was gruffy.

“Who are you?” He answers calmly. Stacey bit down her lips and let out a breathe.

“I’m Stacey… if I’m not mistaken, you’re the wife of Mrs Grace huh?” She asked, walking to the glass windows.

“I’m not, cos we’re divorced, what do you want Stacey” He says icily and Stacey blinks okay she didn’t expect him to sound this way.

“Uhmm, I stumbled upon an article days ago, about you divorcing Mrs Grace. It was the most trendy gist on the internet for months, and it doesn’t says good about you Mr Damian” She lied, sucking in her breath.

“Another reporter huh!?, I was divorced to Grace years ago dammit!, aren’t you reporters gonna get your ass off this case!” He barked and Stacey cringes.

“No!… no you got it all wrong Damian. I’m not a reporter” She defended. “Look Mrs Grace passed away months ago, and she’s got a successor, goes by the name Selene. I was wondering if you’d know her… please?” She added. Damian cusses inaudibly.

“I watched her funeral ceremony on the net, it was pathetic, I also saw her successor. Funny thing is I don’t know her, Grace doesn’t keep friends” Damian brought down his voice a notch, and it was relaxed. Stacey knots her brows, he doesn’t know Selene?.

“Why did you decide to leave?, you both made the perfect couple, and Mrs Grace didn’t look like one who’d cause trouble.” Damian scoffs loudly on the other end.

“Yeah we were the perfect couple. I loved Grace, and she did too… But I couldn’t stay” He falters on the last part and Stacey stare down at the city. it was obvious he’s hiding something.

“Look Damian, is there something you aren’t telling, everyone here in Florida still blames you for Mrs Grace death. They feel you did this to her and soon enough some desperate reporter might dig up the case again…. and you know what’s gonna happen, they’d make your life miserable.” Hell, who knew she could lie through her teeth. Another silence follows and a door slams shut In the background.

“Grace was too much for me. I was married to her but it felt like I wasn’t. She was damn pretty too, and I tried not to lose it cos lots of my male friends wanted to have her… it felt like I was in some sort of competition” He pauses and she could almost imagine how he felt.

“But then I left, not because I wanted to, but I found out Grace isn’t just a normal wife. She could be wierd in some ways.” He sighed and she could sense he didn’t want to say this. She chose her words carefully

“I could help let everyone know you aren’t a bad person Damian, but you need to give me a solid evidence” She held her breath, awaiting his response. Only she wasn’t prepared for what she heard next.

“We were returning late from an event one night, and we ran into an accident scene. Grace warned me to wait in the car while she go check on it. She didn’t even go with the guards. Maybe I should have listened and waited. But I didn’t. There were about three ladies involved in the car accident. They were barely alive but right before my very eyes Grace did something. She healed them, I saw her do it. She was making sounds that I could barely hear. Large wounds healed and I saw the first girl move. She did that to the rest girls, unawares I was behind her watching her every move. That was it. I left that night and never came back. The last time we met was in the court.” Damian finishes with a low sigh.

Stacey grips to the phone as she froze to her spot. Unable to think and unable to move.

“I hope that’s enough reasons to let those reporters off my back…. she’s gone and I’ve moved on.” He added after a while.

Though he disconnected the call, she remained that way for minutes before she finally walked to the bed and stare down at her phone.

“Mrs Grace had powers!?…”
