The Soldier's Unsurpassable Honor

Chapter 3881

Fane nodded, but there was a cold glint in his eyes. "It's not as simple as you think. That guy with the unibrow is right; anyone who can enter a level- one city is at least above average. Those warriors are usually so prideful and think so much about themselves, so how could they let regular warriors have a share of the wealth for no reason? They agreed to open up the Toman Battlefield for everyone to participate."

Lourain blinked. "I don't think it's anything bad. They opened the battlefield so they could tax everyone, and everyone who enters the battlefield and manages to survive will need to give them a fifth of their earnings."

Lourain saw nothing wrong with that. Many had signed up, and even if a third of the total participants died inside, it meant that a lot of them were still alive. Even if it was only a fifth of the rewards, it would be no small sum with the numbers!

No doubt, the best of the best warriors would be earning a huge fortune, and just thinking of it made him envious.

Fane raised an eyebrow and scoffed before he said, "They're full of secrets. They're probably trying to give a fake reason so everyone will fall for their bait. They don't really need to do much, and everything will go according to their plans. They'll get the result they want."

Those words took Marth and Lourain aback. They widened their eyes, not understanding what Fane was saying at all. They understood his language and words, but they had no idea as to what he actually meant.

Marth looked up at Fane before taking a deep breath and asking, "Fane, we're both blockheads here. Can you please explain what you mean? What do you mean, secrets? What kind of result do they want?"

Fane sighed, pouring himself some more tea. "Just think about it. Don't the rules have a very obvious hole in them? The warriors bring their storage spaces into the Toman Battlefield. Unless they're so strong that they can rank in the top hundred, no one will know how many demons one has killed and how many spirit crystals they've obtained. You can just make up any random number when you come out. It's obvious that a lot of people will do that, and the loophole is just shown so clearly in front of everyone. You'll see it just by thinking about it a little."

The moment that was said, both of them were stunned. They suddenly understood what Fane meant by that.

He was right. No one knew how many demons a participant had killed on the Toman Battlefield at all. If they wanted a fifth of the rewards, they first needed to know how much each person gained there.

If they could not do that, almost everyone would lie about it!

It was such a huge loophole, staring at everyone right in their faces. Just like Fane said, anyone would be able to see it, so why did the top-tier warriors still set a rule like that? Were they trying to attract more warriors to join with those rules?

When the two of them thought about it, they could not help but shudder. Their throats went dry as they started to sweat. It smelled like something else was brewing.

Nheless, a lot of people would be willing to join the Toman Battlefield due to the temptation of potential rewards. They wanted to kill a lot of demons and gain a lot of rewards that they completely forgot about this.

If Fane had not reminded him, Lourain would not have thought about it either.

Marth and Lourain exchanged looks of fear. All content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
