Warrior 138
Chapter 138 RYN
THIRTEEN YEARS AGO
It was a stormy night and I could not sleep so I grabbed iny wolfe toy and went to the stairs to find my parents. There, at the landing, I found my mother crying in the arms of my father so came down a few steps, sat down, and clutched my toy to my chest.

"Darling, I'm so scared for her." My mother said to my father. "She has such a hard journey ahead and did you hear what the Moon Priestess said? That our daughter is cursed to walk her journey alone because no man will be strong enough to mate with her? I don't want my daughter to be mateless!",
My father held her close, caressing her hair. "I don't either. That's why we have to find a way to help our daughter so she can live a normal life."
My mother pulled back to look into his eyes while he wiped her tears. "You think that would be enough to help her find a decent mate in the future?"
My father sighed. "I don't know, my love. We'll just have to wait and see. When she turns eighteen, we'll be there for her to help her find someone suitable."
"What if there is none? What if our precious Ryn is too strong for them all?"
My father smiled and lightly kissed my mother. "I found you, did I not? I'm sure there is someone out there strong enough to be our daughter's mate and also be by her side when she fulfills her destiny."
"I hope so." My mother sniffled. "You know we are already in trouble for even being mates." She said, making my pause. "You being a pure-bred lycan and me being what I am. We're forbidden and everyone knows Ryn is....an abomination." father
"Don't call our daughter that." My father chimed in, his tone carrying a serious weight. "Our daughter is a gift and whoever she's mates with will see her for what she is. A gift."
"I hope she finds him."

When I turned fifteen, I went to a temple, and waited in line to see the Moon Priestess.
When my turn finally arrived, all I cared about, was knowing if I'd find my mate.
The Priestess, an aged woman, who was nearly blind took a look at my palm and frowned.
"Your journey is hard and rough, girl. The bond you seek is not yours to have, for one is too weak and none is too cruel."
I frowned. "What does that mean?"
"It means you're not like the rest of us. Werewolves and lycans have predestined mates but since you are a blend of something different, I see no one in your destiny. You are cursed to be alone unless your wolf finds someone worthy of her." PRESENT DAY
"Mine."
The word was quiet but yet it felt like standing in the face of a hurricane.
What's happening? Who's mine?

I glanced back toward the guy I had been dancing with, but my gaze snagged instead on the Windermere twins. The instant I saw them, my wolf surged to the surface, growling one word with a fierce, possessive clarity: "Mine."
My chest tightened as my heart began to race uncontrollably. Which one? My thoughts spiraled. Which of them is mine? Is this it? Has my wolf finally chosen someone... worthy of her?
A frown tugged at my lips. I'd known Theon and Miro for a while and not once had my wolf reacted to either of them.
So why now? Why them?
Sadie's voice broke through the haze as she introduced me to a string of people, but her words barely registered. My focus kept slipping, drawn to the towering presence of the twins. Theon's piercing blue eyes felt like they could strip me bare, while Miro's raw, hungry stare, made it hard to breathe.
Heat pooled in my stomach, unexpected and unwelcome, as I realized how much their presence affected me. There was something about the way they moved, how they carried themselves like gods among men, that left me yearning to be noticed, to stand out. It wasn't just their strength or their impossible beauty; it was something deeper, something primal. My wolf stirred again, restless and wild.
I clenched my fists, fighting to regain control of myself. This isn't me. This can't be happening. But the truth clawed its way to the surface, undeniable and terrifying: I wasn't just drawn to them-I wanted them.
A naughty image flashed through my mind.
Theon is seated somewhere in the dark, watching. I am facing him while Miro is standing behind me, leaving teasing kisses on my neck. When he unzips my dress and lets it fall to the floor, my breasts hang swollen and heavy with erect nipples. I shook my head, forcing the image away.
"What?" I said to an elderly man who had been speaking to me and whose words had been flying on deaf ears.
d, my wife and I would like to invite you to dinner at our house. Our grandchildren love you."
Oh yes, I would love to." I replied, hating that I had to fake the excitement in my voice.
My eyes darted their way again and this time I was disappointed to find Chelsea clinging to Theon's arm, while Miro was nowhere to be found.
A myriad of desires began to course through me.
One, my shameless desire to drag the twins into a room and get naked for them. Two, the overwhelming desire to find Miro, and three, the deadly desire to rip Chelsea away from my man.
Wait what?
I blinked and absentmindedly smiled as a group of old ladies approached and said 'hi.
Is Theon mine?
I shook my head and looked Theon's way. Again, I couldn't find him either. Instead, in his place was Chelsea glaring at mePlease check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.
from afar.

1 glared back, hungry for a moment where we could have a rematch
Sadie pinched me, calling my attention to the elderly women before me to I apologized and listened to them invite me to speak at their annual charity event. I accepted in a heartbeat and when things became too much for me. I excused myself to the restroom to take a breather. Looking in the mirror, I discovered my face was flushed and despite the AC, I was hot on the inside.
Taking a calming breath, I decided to collect my thoughts.
Why do I suddenly feel this way?
I have lived with the twins and it was never this intense. Heck, I just saw Miro before the event, and I didn't feel this way for
him
So is it Theon? Is he my mate?
My heart began to race at the possibility which almost made me smile.
Almost because that witch still had him in her grip and until Theon is free from her influence, I can't know the real truth.
1 can't be sure.
Just then the door opened and in came Chelsea.
I stiffened, watching her in the mirror as she came to stand beside me and peer at her face before digging in her bag to retrieve a lipstick.
The nerve this bitch has, to stand so close.
I gripped the counter hard and her eyes slid to me with a smile. Then she turned to fully face me.
"Ryn Ashmore, star of The King's Ball. Who did you have to fuck to get that necklace, huh?"
I faced her, barely able to contain my wolf who's been meaning to come out ever since she stepped in. "Chelsea Moore, laughingstock of The King's Ball. How much poison will it take to convince everyone here that you're good enough." The door opened just as Chelsea slapped me, hard, and just as I raised my fist to teach her why that was a bad idea,
one rushed in between us.
ked to see Sadie, and before I could react, she turned and poured her glass of champagne in Chelsea's face before returning her slap with one of her own.
While Chelsea gasped in disbelief, Sadie grabbed my hand and led me out of the bathroom. Stunned, I followed after her until we reached a corner close to the main hall.
"What's going on?" I asked in disbelief. "Why did you do that? You should have let me teach her a lesson."
Sadie looked around as if she didn't want anyone to hear us. "Not here." She said, lowering her voice. "Did you stop to think that Chelsea might have intentionally come into the bathroom, knowing fully well how much you want to beat her up?" Things began to make sense.
"Oh."
"Yeah." Sadie nodded. "I overheard her having a chat with Howard's Mom in the bathroom earlier today. They had planned for her to get beat up by you so she could expose you to everyone here and with the Billie video still circulating, it'd be easy to paint you as a bad person."

"And with Theon on her side, getting me kicked out will be inevitable." I finished.
"Exactly. Easy-peasy. You could have suffered the biggest disgrace ever."
Overwhelmed with joy, I pulled Sadie into a hug. "Thank you." I said, feeling tears rush to my eyes.
She rubbed my back gently. "Always welcome." She said, then we pulled apart and she extended her hand to me. "Come, let's enjoy the rest of the party."
Smiling, I took her hand and joined the crowd.
