The Witches

Chapter 2: My First Roomate

Chapter 2: My First Roomate

06 January 2015

Being here is strange, I still don't believe that I could be a witch, but holding my wand says something

else. I haven't been blessed with magic yet, but I can already feel the power when it's in my hand. What

does one do with all this power? I wonder at times.

Also, it's strange here because I'm having bad nights. Not that I can't sleep or anything but that I get

weird dreams. I'm always surrounded by black and can hear distinctive chatter but I can't hear a word

that's being uttered.

The voices are many and maybe that's why it's so hard for me to focus on what they're trying to say.

It's been a couple of days that I've been here. I spend my days reading up on this place's history.

It is two magical words that melted into one big world. It used to start as one big world but the witches

difference broke them up.

They were all forced to learn dark magic and it was fine, but a group of people hated that. They fought

the system for centuries but no one could have that change since the vast majority wanted to learn the

dark arts.

That's when the council came together and decided to split the two groups up and then they had 'San

and Mele.

The white witches had to start from scratch and it was difficult in the beginning, having to adjust and

also create a new style of magic altogether. But they did well nonetheless. However, the two group's

hate for each other grew and they fought for years.

They've concluded that surely good and bad just don't mix, until last year. Sindra and Bethany have

been friends ever since they were three and they've gotten along pretty well. They have a true and

beautiful friendship. They showed both the white and black witches that a union between the two is

very possible.

Sounds like a wonderful ending. How would we know? We are only at the beginning of that part of the

whole thing. Reading up on the town's history only made me want to meet Sindra and Bethany.

A knock took me out of my reading. I still have no roommate so I had to get the door, which I did.

Behind it stood a happy Margot with a beautiful dark-skinned girl with a round face. Her black hair is

tied to the back so that her long coarse hair could make a bomb afro.

"Tam... This is Aaliyah," she placed her arm around her shoulder and looked Aaliyah in her eyes, "this

is Tamzyn, your roommate,"

I couldn't help but smile, I hated not having anyone around me. The silence that filled the room,

particularly at night was the worst.

I opened the door wider and allowed them to enter. Aaliyah studied the room and walked up to look

through the round large window. Besides, it is two beds, she chose the one on the right and placed her

brown leather suitcase on it.

"Um, rules. Lights out by eleven, no boys around and no loud music should be playing in here," Margot

got into a few rules. "No one follows the rules but when the adults come for regular check-ups, please

at least pretend that everything is in check, for my and the other girl's sake."

"The room is so spacious, I love it," Aaliyah shared.

The door opens and we have the entrance area, you take a few steps through the mini hallway and

then you're met with a bigger open area, this is where we watch tv. There's a large yellow couch with a

redwood coffee table. The part of the wall that the couches face towards is magical. It has a name, it's

called Yalona. You greet Yalona and she shows you anything you want. That's how they watch tv

around here. You ask her to go to a channel or you ask her to recommend you something and she

does. She studies us and works on our recommendations by the data she's gathered about an

individual.

Behind the larger couch is the part where we sleep. The first thing you pass is a desk on one side of

the room, on it are two computers and two chairs, each side has two draws. On the opposite of that

desk is another, the dead same. Next to that desk, like with the other, are the first two beds. Next to

them are their bedside tables followed by the other two beds. It's bland. I have no matter to decorate

my room, and I don't even know if these people use money or not. All rights © NôvelDrama.Org.

"Anyway, you girls enjoy each other. I'm out and if you need me my room is next to you guys. On the

left."

Margot grinned and left us alone. Aaliyah threw her tiny body on the bed and opened both her arms.

She had a huge smile on her face, one that looked like she could burst of all the joy she was feeling.

"After years, Tamzyn, and I finally get the calling," she chuckled, "I was the only witch left in my family

and so I thought I might just never get called. Thank you Meledsan,"

I was left just starring. This is crazy.

"Do you think Meledsan is alive or something?" I asked but couldn't contain the small laugh that

followed shortly.

Her expression changed, she seemed offended. "Of course, "

"How do you know?"

Silence.

She swallowed, I watched as the ball went up and down in her throat. "Um... According to the women

who had the affinity for earth, they all told of stories of Meledsan speaking to them. Sure we normos

never experienced that, but are you trying to say they're lying?"

I shrugged.

"I don't know them, broer,"

Aaliyah grinned, "let's go grab a coffee. It's on me,"

I nodded my head. She rose to her feet, man she's short and so adorable. She wore a tight dress that

showcased her straight torso and her banging skinny frame paired with short boots. She led the way,

she seems to know this place. She says it's because she still studied magic, she just never got the

opportunity to be blessed with the power.

She talks a lot, which I loved because I barely speak. In other words, she's the perfect roommate.

I took a sip of my grape flavoured milkshake, she ordered coffee. We both had double cheeseburgers

with chips.

She told me a bit more about her studies when I started dissociating. I hate when that happens during

conversations because I normally am very into what the other person wants to say, like now. But now,

all I could hear was the sound of her voice drowning out until it was gone.

Then, suddenly her voice came back as many whispers. Whispers I couldn't hear. It reminded me of

my blank dreams but this time I'm awake and have more control over it so I tried to focus.

The whispers became louder.

"Tamzyn,"

I could hear which caused me to look up into Aaliyah's brown eyes and smiled. I experienced

something that I couldn't even explain.

"Ooh, look it's one of those special girls, " she exclaimed in excitement.

I turned around in my seat and entering the cafe was a tall blonde girl. She looked gorgeous. Her

straight hair hung past her shoulders, not very voluptuous but it looked beautiful. Silky, healthy and

strong. She should have been a model, maybe she's considering it anyway. Her skin was soft, her thin

lips red, her jawline strong and broad. She wore a tiara on her head, I loved how her skull was big. It

was as if it was made for her tiara as it rested peacefully. She wore a white dress and a blue cape.

Which matched her tiara made of tiny light blue gems. In the middle of the crown was a much bigger

blue gem.

"I've always wanted to meet her, Sindra!" Aaliyah called.

Sindra turned our way and smiled. She waved at us but Aaliyah gestured for her to come over instead.

Which she surprisingly did. I thought she'd be too busy. She stood beside our table, in the middle of us.

"Hey, guys,"

"Oh my gosh Sindra, I just wanted to say that I'm a huge fan,"

Sindra chortled and scratched her cheek. I loved how big her hands are, they could cover her whole

face. It was also covered in veins which I always think looks cool. "Thanks, and what's your names?"

"I'm Aaliyah, and this is Tamzyn. We're both called for the first time. Exciting, "

Sindra nodded her head. There was something about her, I don't know what it is but I was so drawn to

her. Her ocean-blue eyes seemed to soothe a person and she radiated with this vibe. I couldn't

describe it, I wonder if she could feel it too?

"Anyway. I'm meeting up with someone, it's nice meeting you two and I'll see you around,"

"Bye!" Aaliyah greeted and watched Sindra walk off.

Sindra. I laid in bed that night listening to the distant whispers wondering what it was that I felt with her

today. It was like this strong magnetic force trying to tell my body something, but I don't speak

vibrations and so it left me wondering.
