Chapter 67 The Miller X The Garcia
Chapter 67 The Miller X The Garcia
Leaving Araceli and the others, he decided to plan his escape from Araceli's bashing, and her
parents were the perfect escape route, he could be their personal host this evening there by avoiding
Araceli.
"It is such an honor to have you here Mr and Mrs…" Xander started as he rushed down the stairs
to open their door but got cut of by their guard that pushed him back roughly as he barely got a hold of
himself before coming in contact with the staircase.
"Oh did he hurt you dear boy?," Mrs Araceli came down from the G-7 onyx Mercedes Benz Jeep
they got for all of their family to celebrate the new year, she was in all white just like Araceli with a
follow up white peacock feather crown in her curled black hair and low black glass heels from Louis
Vuitton, she gracefully came down from the jeep with the help of her body guard.
"Hehe...no ma'am I'm…" Xander started but got cut off.
"Yes Mrs Emelia, I'm fine, he weighs nothing much," Her body guard replied, leaving him behind
guiding her the stairs, she met with all of Araceli's friends, after the who meet and greet acquaintance,
Mrs Garcia turned around to face Xander who was still at the pavement looking at them in complete
confusion.
"I only honored this invitation because it is an invitation from a miller, nothing more, do you
understand me?," Mrs Garcia said, walking back up the stairs as her three hefty bodyguards followed
closely behind wearing white blazers with black dress trousers.
It suddenly clicked in Xander's head, she knows...She had to know because he doesn't ever
remember being rude to her or doing anything remotely bad to her so it only had to be that she knew
and Araceli had told her. But he needed to confirm, Araceli who was former calm and meek, now she's
a fucking serpent and he can't seem to breathe well around her, plus he couldn't loose his CEO
position because of her to his asshole of a kid brother Philips.Property © 2024 N0(v)elDrama.Org.
Every since they were kids, his father had always praised Philips like he was some fucking god
just because he was better at hurting people and hunting. When they were growing up, the One year
difference between them made them seem more like fraternal twins because they were about the same
height, when ever they visited the country house where their grandfather was being taken care of, his
uncles will take them hunting in one of the near by woods, they would hunt down kid deers and Xander
couldn't bring himself to do it, and in his place Philips would do it without hesitating, His father will pat
him on the back and praise him for not hesitating, he said it was part of the training they all needed to
be very successful In the business world and that his father and his grandfather all went through the
same training.
"If you want to be rich, you need to be able to take from both the innocent and weak, from the
brave and strong, from the naïve and ignorant," His father told both of them, patting Philips on the back
for a job Weldone for killing two baby deers.
"Alexander, you didn't make any kills today, you would not have dinner this evening, make be
when you are hungry, you would remember what being unfortunate and poor feels like," His father said.
They headed towards the carriage that was waiting for them at the edge of the woods. Yes his father
was down to his roots in old school. They used carriages to move around except when they were going
into town. As he was about to hop into the carriage after the bodyguard, the door was closed in his
face, and the window was slided down.
"There is no ride back for the weak, take a walk home and think about how you need to toughen
up," his fathet said to him, and just before the window blinds were shot, Philips made a funny face at
him mocking him for being too weak to be a baby deer.
The only reason he was chosen to be the CEO of his Father's company was because he came
first, not because he was qualified or ready even though he was, if his father was to go by favorites, he
would have chosen his kid brother for the job as CEO, and even better, his mother didn't give two
fucks, all she wanted was throwing useless events and blowing the money on useless things, like last
bookclub read of the year, jew festival preparations...what the hell was even a Jew festival preparation
party, and she couldn't even defend her own kids in front of their father, always cowarding behind him.
He decided to call on Alice who hadn't still showed up yet, she was suppose to get a package
ready which they could use as plan be, instead, she wasn't picking her calls and he was running out of
patience and his mental health, the moment he decided to try her number one last time, a hand tapped
him on his shoulders, he ignored the touch hoping the person will understand and leave him the fuck
alone, a cloud of a strong cloud of perfume surrounded him and a slender finger ended the call he was
trying to make, he didn't need any more clue to who the person was, Rachel bent down behind him and
whispered in his ear.
"She's not gonna pick nor is she going to come anytime soon, it's almost time for the main event
and that's us," Rachel stood up and waited for him to stand up and turn around.
Xander couldn't tell if she was bluffing or actually serious, at this point, she was back to being
unpredictable again, could she have been the reason behind why Alice isn't here yet or was dhe just
capitalizing on his worry knowing he would fall for it, after thinking through it, he finalized she couldn't
have had anything to do with Alice, she wouldn't even know what Alice had to do with tonight so he lwt
his mind rest. So he stood up and linked his hands with her as they climbed up to meet the rest who
were on the other side of the glass door.
"I know Alice didn't spend the last night at home, so now it's between you and me, where did she
go?," Rachel asked tightening her arm around his as they kept walking slowly because of her heels.
"If I knew, I definitely wouldn't be here trying her number desperately now would I?," Xander hissed
under his breathe, all tbis games were beginning to mess with his mental health and he didn't like it,
somehow Alice convinced him her plan was gonna work either she got the package or they were going
to make another and Just like the gods or rather demons were on his side, she was in the same outfit
or he was just having a really bad deja vu.
"I don't know what you guys are playing at but I wouldn't be caught dead in your trap, and trust me,
I don't come the same twice," Rachel told him confidently, turning to look at him as she was scanned
for any object on her body that could be implicating.
"Can we stop this mind game and let's just marry and divorce in peace, I keep my life and you go
on with yours, as simple as going into coma for months and waking up different," Xander shot back at
her which took her different amount of time to reply, she had to admit that got her.
"What can I say, severe times calls for severe changes," Rachel smiled sweetly at the building
security personel giving her a pass sign.
"What did you tell your Mom?," Xander adked, he had to find out somehow, he knew Araceli would
beat around the bush about it but he hoped that he was going to get more than sarcasm and a heavy
attitude.
"What else are you gaining from this marriage asides Your job you need to keep, because your job
is your birthright and also not my problem," Rachel shot back, he doesn't know she saw the file with the
attorney under Alice father's firm, the document gave him access to all her wealth and properties in
legal terms, plus other private properties Araceli purchased under her name, it was a very complex
case but it was a strict case which meant they already knew who the case was in favour in, but she
never got her hands on the document or Araceli didn't think to copy it because she had searched her
memory and everywhere in her room, she couldn't find it.
"I told you, I just want my position as CEO, I don't need anything else," Xander told Araceli. He
sounded trustful and sincere but she knew she couldn't believe a word that came out of his mouth, they
were all lies, lies was something he was good at.
"So tell me, what did you tell your mom about me, because she has never treated me this badly
before," Xander asked.
"I don't know what you are talking about bruh, but you want some piece of advice...You should get
used to people treating you like shit from now on because from here, it only gets worse," Rachel
smirked at him as they walked towards the people queuing for the red carpet, she could spot Maya's
cherry red dress three couples away from her.
"I can say the same thing about you too, because it's going to be a really funny joke if you think i
would be going down without a fight," Xander shot back as their turn slowly reached.
"Whatever you say bro, just know a little something," Rachel took a pause, she debated on
whether she should break the ice or leave him in suspense, if she left him in suspense, he would keep
coming back to her till she told him because he could be relentless like that and if she did then he
would just think that she was trying to break Him and Alice up which wasn't the goal, the goal was to
remove some amount of trust between them and replace it with doubt, she hoped the plan would work
just like he said.
"Alice was a great friend of mine or so I thought, we did highschool together and out of all I went
through, I used to count her among all the good things that happened to me in highschool." Rachel
started.
"If she was able to turn her back on me, who she had known since middle school, what makes you
think she wouldn't turn on you at a certain point, I mean think about it, your gain in this is known
already, and you already know what you are getting out of all this but what is she gaining?," Rachel
said. Their turn was almost up and her flashlight was getting stronger and stronger, getting into her
eyes making her them a little.
"What do you think?," Xander laughed.
"That you could drive a wedge between the two of us, make us doubt what we have between two
of us, it's not gonna work Araceli, you have a long way to go if you think that's your strategy for winning
this, I mean you must really think I'm stupid huh?," Xander looked at her as if she just cracked the most
foreign joke he had ever heard.
"Yes, I do think you are stupid because deep down you know you are right, but if pleasing daddy is
all you can do after all this years of him still thinking you are shit, you just go ahead and prove him
right," Rachel winked at him.
"Alright now, take my hands and you better make sure I don't look bad," Rachel warned him as the
climbed the red suede rug that extended through the work through to the other side of the hall where
the fundraiser was taking place, from the name of the sponsors on the poster behind them and Miller
Company logo to every other thing set up properly, it was either two things, they had this whole thing all
planned up for a long time and it wasn't a coincidence and they merely forgot that they were throwing a
very huge fundraising party like this or they really used enough money to buy days like rich people did
and had the best organizers do the work on a very short notice and yes it was an intentional
coincidence to avoid the dinner meeting she had planned with Him.
They walked forward as Rachel watched as Amy took control and attention of the whole red carpet
and all the cameras left the last couple who were probably some random rich progeny who took over
daddy's company just lik.e her. She was sparkling in the showers of camera flashes she was receiving
and in that moment Rachel could really see her fronting a magazine cover and she had the perfect
camera composure, the next was Ben and Ricky who stayed by both sides of Amy before standing as a
couple, there were two more more couples in front them before she realized she must have probably
missed Yandel and Maya while trying to fuck with Xander's head.
The other couples got on the carpet and got their lens time and before she knew it, the usual jitters
she got when ever she was center of attention came to stomach, she became a bit nervous but she
didn't let it show as she remembered her mother's words about keeping a neutral face when the time
presented itself. Soon it was their turn, Rachel and Xander climbed onto the platform.
"Miss Araceli look at the camera please,"
"Here,"
"Mr Alexander here please,"
"Over here please," random voice's came at them to look at the camera. It was an overwhelming
process for Rachel because she hadn't done something like this before but she was sure Araceli had,
so she had to act natural and cooler.
"You are a billionaire heiress,"
"You are a billionaire heiress,"
"You are a billionaire heiress," Rachel muttered to herself trying to fuel her confidence.
"Get closer," Someone behind one of the hundred cameras flashing at her said. She expected
Xander to move closer to her but instead he had an uncomfortable look on his face and after that he
got his hands away from hers making everyone go silent with lights flashing.
Rachel watched him work away from her as he went to meet Alice who came in all black dinner
gown with a V Opening down her chest and down the side of her thighs and wearing a black lipstick
with glass steep heels as Xander took her hands and led her up the stage before putting a hand on her
back and led her into the red carpet. Rachel completely forgot that she was still right in the middle of
the red carpet...
