Who lives here?
Marco then entered Letta’s room and saw Letta, who was now lying on the bed with her back turned towards him. “Didn’t I say that I wanted to be alone?” Letta’s words indicated that she was aware of Marco’s presence.
“I can’t just leave you alone in this apartment when you’re not fully recovered, even though the doctor has allowed you to go home,” Marco said, causing Letta to sigh deeply.
“Does it mean that as long as this fetus is in my womb, I have to keep following whatever you say?” Letta asked without looking at Marco.
“Yes, more or less. Because whatever I ask is always for the best for you and the baby in your stomach,” Marco said, causing Letta to finally get up from her bed and turn to face the man who always insisted on his own will.
“What’s best for you may not necessarily be the best for me. And as for my child, I will live according to my own desires,” Letta said.
“Come on, Letta, stop acting childish like this, stop being stubborn. You need someone to take care of you and the baby. You’re all alone now, even your friend left you a few minutes ago. Who else can you rely on other than me as the father of that fetus?” Marco said, making Letta feel as if she had been slapped with reality. Letta could only bow her head, remembering how Mia truly hated her at the moment. Not only that, another bitter truth was about Abian. Was this really the only way for her and her unborn child to rely on a person like Marco, Letta thought, finally looking at Marco with a serious look.
Letta then let out a long breath. “Well then, you can wait outside. I’ll take care of everything,” Letta said, without getting any more protests. Marco then left Letta’s room and waited for her in the living room, while Letta was busy looking at the wardrobe where her clothes were neatly arranged before finally exhaling deeply and pulling the large suitcase she had brought to the apartment. Letta couldn’t think of anything else because this was the only thing she could do. Letta also couldn’t survive if another bad incident like yesterday happened to her. Letta didn’t want to neglect the safety of her unborn child just because of her ego.
It took only a few minutes for Letta to pull the suitcase out of her room, making Marco immediately look at her and approach her to take over the suitcase. “Is that everything? Is it just this much?” Marco asked, making Letta nod.
“I didn’t bring everything because I’m not sure I’ll be comfortable staying in that new place,” Letta said, making Marco look at her with raised eyebrows.
“Even it’s far more comfortable than this small apartment,” Marco said.
“Yeah, I know. So, please stop bad-mouthing this apartment. At least I’ve paid the rent in full for the next few months, and it’s a waste because I have to move out with someone else’s coercion,” Letta said, walking away from Marco, who was only looking at her small back. But the next moment, Marco pursed his lips as he felt a change in Letta. Maybe her condition now is much better than before, Marco thought. Finally, he followed Letta’s steps out of her apartment. They got into the car, and Marco immediately drove it slowly. Letta just stared out the window, enjoying the view outside.
Letta didn’t know where Marco was taking her, but now they entered an area that was rarely passed by people. Finally, Letta was amazed when a large gate opened, and in front of them was a big white house that seemed to be Marco’s destination. When Marco stopped the car, they were greeted by a middle-aged woman.
“Is everything ready?” Marco asked after getting out of the car. Letta, who followed him, was just stunned by her surroundings. The garden there was much bigger than the one near her apartment, making Letta wonder how many people they would need to take care of it. Not to mention the house in front of her, was Marco really inviting her to move to such a big house, Letta thought.
“Everything is ready, Sir. I have prepared it,” the woman replied, making Marco nod. He then looked at Letta, who was still mesmerized by her surroundings.Text content © NôvelDrama.Org.
“Come here,” Marco said, interrupting Letta’s admiration. Letta then walked towards Marco as some people passed her and immediately opened the trunk of the car they had just ridden in, taking out her suitcase.
“Let me introduce you, this is Desi. She is the head servant in this house, and she will take care of you from now on. You can ask her anything and request whatever you need,” Marco said, making Letta smile at the middle-aged woman in front of her. Desi just nodded her head, looking down, gazing at Letta.
“Alright, then I will take you to your room,” Marco said, but Letta stopped his movement.
“Why?” Marco asked.
“Are you going to immediately tell me to rest?” Letta asked, making Marco look at her with raised eyebrows.
“Yes, why? Because that’s what you need right now,” Marco said, making Letta pout immediately.
“At least let me take a walk in this garden first, or maybe get to know this house,” Letta said, making Marco shake his head.
“We can do that later. You have plenty of time, and you will be staying here for quite a while. So, you can do it later. Right now, what you need is rest,” Marco said firmly, not wanting to be opposed. This made Letta finally follow Marco’s steps without any objection. Not only outside, even after they arrived inside the house, Letta couldn’t stop being amazed. How many people could actually be accommodated in such a big house, Letta thought, as she only saw a few servants passing by around her.
“Who lives here?” Letta asked, making Marco look at her again.
“Do you think I prepared this house for people to live in?” Marco said, continuing his steps. Letta just looked puzzled at his straight back. Did he really prepare this big house just for her, Letta thought, but she didn’t dare to say it. Letta would see who might come and who she would meet later. What Letta needed to do now was to follow Marco to the room that would be shown, which might become her room in this big house, Letta thought.
