Chapter 31: 30

Farrel stroked Ree's head who was sleeping, the woman was just getting calm when the personnel

who were sent to look for Dave had provided quite good news. They'd managed to detect Charles's

whereabouts, and now they had to hope that Dave was with the man.

"You don't want to step in?" the heavy sound of the ocean broke the silence. Earlier, Valerie said

goodbye to return to Bara's room so that Samudra could come here.

"I can't leave it alone, Sam," Farrell said with a heavy sigh.

"There's Valerie. And if you want, I can order Vanesha to come here. After all, they should know that

Retha is still alive and is with us now."

"Wait for the situation to be safe, Sam. Dave's still missing, and I don't want to lose them a second

time. Besides, being around him makes me remember our memories little by little."

"Yes, it's up to you," Samudra nodded his head.

"But, Sam. What do you think was the factor in the man kidnapping Dave?"

"A lot, he can threaten both of you with the kid. For example he asks for barter, he will give Dave if you

give Re to him."

"Why would he want my wife if he only wanted to torture her?" growled Farrell.

"How do I know," Ocean shrugged his shoulders, "there is no other reason for that man to kidnap Dave

other than asking Re to come back to him, money? He's a pretty well-off guy, I don't think he is too

concerned with money."

"But, I feel-" Farrell's words were interrupted as his cell phone vibrated.

Farrel reached into his thick coat pocket, then shifted the green icon displayed on the screen of a flat

object in his hand. His forehead frowned when he saw a row of numbers that was so foreign on the

contact, Farrel finally put the object to his ear.

"Yes?" said Farrell.

"Help me ... "

"Dave ?!" shouted Farrel, making Ocean immediately rise from his seat, "where are you?"

"I don't know ... I-I'm with Dad," Dave said in a trembling voice.

"No, he's not your father. I am your father, don't call him Dad! Now tell me, what has he done to you?"

"He took me to a place I didn't know ... it was dark, and smelly. Help me ..."

"Dave, where's Charles?"

"He's right here next to me," Dave said, "with a gun to my head."

"Charles!" shouted Farrell, "let go of my son!" Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g

"Charles, let go of my son," replied Charles, following Farrell's mocking tone, "give that damn woman

back to me, and I'll give you this useless child."

"Are you crazy, huh? What are you asking for if you just want to torture him ?!"

"Yes, he owes me a lot. To be precise, he owes him his life."

"Don't ever dream, Charles. I'll never give it up to you, ever!"

"Go ahead if you insist, I just have to pull the trigger of this gun, and this useless child will disappear

from the face of the earth," Charles laughed evilly, accompanied by the sound of slapping and

screaming Dave.

"What did you do to him, damn ?!" growled Farrell.

"Just a small slap," Charles laughed again.

"You keep my word, if you dare to touch it once again, then I will make you regret being born!"

"Wow, you threatened me, didn't you?" again and again Charles laughed, "well, then you also have to

keep my word, Farrel Manggala Wdyatmaja. If tomorrow, you don't come to the place I want with that

woman, I'll make sure that the body of this useless child will be. arrived at your house. "

"Don't you mess around, or you will pay the price!"

"Yes, up to you." said Charles before the man hung up the phone unilaterally

"Damn it!" muttered Farrell.

"What did he say?" asked Samudra, putting on a worried face.

"He will finish off Dave, if tomorrow I do not take Retha where he wants," said Farrel resignedly, "you're

right, Sam. He wants Retha."

"Then, do you want?"

"Of course-"

"Yes!"

It wasn't Farrel who made a sound, but Ree who woke up from his sleep with swollen eyes. The

woman was crying again. Farrel immediately approached Ree, and hugged her tightly again.

"No, I'll never leave you to him."

"If you don't hand me over, Dave will be killed. I know who Charles is, he never messes with his words.

I wouldn't forgive myself if Dave didn't survive," Ree whispered.

"No, I still won't hand you over."

"You're selfish!" Ree released himself from Farrell's embrace, "You don't think about Dave! He's your

son, you hear ?! Him. Your son. Your flesh and blood! What would I live for if my son wasn't there? It

hurts more than hell!"

"But I don't want to lose you, again!" Farrel replied in a high voice, making Ree pause for a moment, "I

don't want to lose you, again. While I just found you, no .."

"We can't do it there is nothing else, other than indulging the man's wish, "Ree closed his eyes, then

glared at Farrel," if you don't want to hand me over, I'll go alone to meet him. "

"No, you're never leaving here. I'll bring Dave back, without having to hand you over to the man."

***

Dave's body shook violently, not because he was scared, but because he hadn't eaten. It felt like his

knees were weak, unable to stand up. Not to mention that he had to endure the pain in his head and

stomach.

Charles continued to force Dave to walk to a place that he did not know, he had been obeying the

man's wishes for fear that Charles would do something even more terrible. In the last few hours alone,

Dave had been getting beaten and slapped for no reason, which made his body even more energy

deprived.

"Just pray, that your father will take your mother. If not, this is your last day seeing the world," said

Charles who walked in front of him.

Really, Dave was treated like an animal. After being tortured, beaten and slapped without knowing the

cause, Charles tied his neck with a rope and pulled him wherever the man wanted. I think Dave chose

to die. He is not strong, this pain is more than anything.

"Stay here, we'll wait for your father to come," Charles told Dave to sit down.

Dave could vaguely see their current position, very far from the cities. There are only forests and

forests, right now they are in the forest, but in front there is a highway. If Dave managed to run there,

he could run away and ask for help from the people passing by there. Honey, the ties around his neck

are too strong. And if he ran in this condition, he would have died because of the noose in his neck.

"Give me back my son,"

Dave looked and caught his eyes the figure of a man he had only known for a few weeks. Really, is it

true that man is her father? If so, Dave would be very grateful. Because, at the beginning of his

introduction, he felt comfortable with the man and had hoped that his father could act like that.

"Where, Ree Alison?" asked Charles.

"She's Aretha Maharani, my wife. Not Ree Alison," Farrel replied coldly.

"I'm here, Charles," Ree walked over to Farrell, "hand over Dave, and I'll come with you."

"Come here, dear. I'll hand over this kid later," Charles waved his hand.

Ree looked at Dave who was also staring at him, and Ree's tears almost spilled seeing the condition of

his son. Bruises, and even a band around his neck. Dave was treated like an animal.

Ree immediately ran towards Dave, he hugged the boy. His tears broke, as well as Dave who was in

his arms, Ree immediately untied Dave's neck. Then, she stroked Dave's fat cheek.

"Are you in pain, honey?" asked Ree.

Dave shook his head, "No. I'm glad to see you."

"Dave," Ree said in a whisper, "are you strong enough to run?"

"I am strong,"

"All right. Mother will count one to three, then Mother will pull you and we have to run as fast as we can

to the highway there," said Ree in a whisper, "do you understand?"

Dave nodded his head.

"One,"

"Two,"

"Three!"

Ree pulled Dave running toward the highway. Charles, who woke up immediately followed, but he

jerked back because Farrell immediately pulled him. It didn't take long for Farrel to get on top of

Charles's body and give him another punch.

Bugh!

"That's for you who tortured them," Farrel continued to punch Charles.

Charles could not fight back, because he had already lost badly. Farrel continued to beat him blindly,

until Samudra came with several policemen to separate.

"Farrell, enough!" Ocean tries hard to attract Farrel, but fails because the man is stronger.

"I won't let him live!"

"Farrell, stop!"

Farrel ignored the screams of the Ocean. Ocean ruffled his hair frustrated and confused, Farrel was

unstoppable. And the only one who can stop Farrell is Retha. Samudra's eyes roamed around looking

for Retha's whereabouts, and her eyes caught Retha and Dave who were trying to cross the road

which was so congested.

Just now Samudra was about to scream for Retha, but her lips were open wide because of the sight

she had just witnessed. Samudra immediately pulled Farrel's body, who was still torturing Charles even

though the police had told him to stop.

"Farrell, Retha got hit!"

Coinciding with that, Farrell's fist for Charles came to a halt.
