True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz)

Chapter 2113

Chapter 2113

Sylvia could not help but sigh. It was a shame that Gary and Celeste's relationship had come to this.

She thought that they had a very stable relationship, but it was an unforeseen turn of events.

Sylvia knew about what happened during the press conference as well.

She was astonished by what had transpired.

However, she was very busy with her exams at that time, so she did not have the chance to check in on her brother.

More importantly, Sylvia thought that Gary would be able to handle it. That was why she did not expect Celeste and Gary to break up.

Afterward, the sudden news that Kendrix had a fiancee popped up during her break, so she left the matter alone.

Now that she had the time to finally ask Gary about it, she was concerned when she noticed how miserable he was.

A mix of complicated emotions surged within her heart.

Perhaps because Gary had loved Celeste too much, he had a lot of hopes and dreams for their future, but there was also helplessness and guilt. "But how do you know that it's what Celeste wants? What if you're wrong?" Sylvia felt that Gary was not that good when it came to reading a girl's emotions.

Gary smiled bitterly. Seeing her's worried expression, he ruffled her hair and said, "You should be studying instead of worrying about this."

"I'm worried about you," Sylvia replied, her hair now in a mess. "Don't try and dismiss my concerns. I'm trying to have a serious conversation here. Who knows? I might be able to give you a good suggestion."

Gary shook his head. "There's no need for that, Sylvia. Can you go? I need some sleep."

Sylvia was stunned. She wanted to continue talking, but the look on Gary's face shut her up.

After cleaning Gary's wounds, she packed up the medicine and left the room.

She was still concerned about him, so she said, "Gary, you need to get some rest. If not, you'll become ugly."

Gary waved his hand, gesturing for her to close the door.

Sylvia had no choice but to leave.

As she was going downstairs, she happened to run into Grace.

Grace was rather surprised to see Sylvia up so early. "Isn't today the first day of your break? Don't you usually sleep in?"

"Mom, isn't it good that I'm up early?" Sylvia said as she walked up to Grace. "I get nagged regardless of whether I sleep in or not. What's a girl to do?"

"Well, I'd rather you sleep in today," Grace replied mysteriously.

Sylvia blinked curiously, sensing a hidden meaning in her mother's words.

She chuckled and replied, "I won't sleep in anymore. I'm determined to be top of my class."

Grace was taken aback. She observed Sylvia carefully, trying to make sure if she was all right.

Sylvia was a little frightened by her Grace's intense stare. "Why are you looking at me like that?"

Grace decided to bite the bullet and ask, "Did you solve all your problems after you went out last night?"

Sylvia blushed a deep red.

She was befuddled that her mother would ask her about that. She also did not expect her mother would know that she had gone out the previous night.

"Wow, I can't hide anything from you, can I?" Sylvia chuckled dryly.

Grace nodded. "Of course not. I also know that you went out with a friend, and you brought her home too."

Sylvia had to admit that her mother was very sharp.

Grace knew about everything that was going on at home.Exclusive © material by Nô(/v)elDrama.Org.

"Yep, that friend is Mr. Trevino's cousin." Sylvia did not intend on hiding Claudia's identity from Grace.

"Okay," Grace said, nodding. "Have you settled your problems then?"

"It's settled. Mom, I've decided to strive to be the top in my class in the future." Sylvia smiled sweetly as she spoke. Judging from Sylvia's determined expression, Grace knew that Sylvia was serious about it.

"That's good. You're all grown up now." Grace gave a little sigh of relief. "I'm relieved that you know what to do and what not to do. You did very well on your test, so have a little reward for you."

"Mom! Thanks a lot!" Sylvia was quite surprised. She used to think that Grace was very strict toward her, but it did not seem to be the case.

"Silly girl." Grace chuckled before she looked past Sylvia at Gary's door. Then, she caught sight of the medicine in Sylvia's hands. "Did you go to see Gary earlier?"

"Mhmm. Mom, are Gary and Celeste really broken up?" Sylvia asked.

Grace paused for a moment before she sighed, "There are some things you can't force. One can only leave it all up to chance. Even if you force it, it'll end badly anyway."

"Gary's been hurt quite badly though," Sylvia replied, but she tacked on an additional explanation in case Grace did not understand. "I'm talking about emotionally."

"That's what he deserves." Grace's tone was a little harsh. "He's an idiot, and he has to accept the consequences of his idiocy."

"But this isn't just on Gary, though." From what Sylvia had read in the tabloids, Gary seemed quite innocent to her.

Grace glanced at Sylvia and said, "Didn't you take a class in psychology? You should know that Gary is completely to blame for what happened." "But this concerns Celeste as well," Sylvia pointed out.

Grace was surprised as she replied, "To be sure, it does involve Celeste, but your brother has a larger share of the responsibility."

Sylvia was rendered speechless at Grace's sense of justice.

"Celeste needs to find the strength to get through this as well. She's just starting out in life, and she'll suffer if she isn't strong enough. Some things you just have to do on your own." Grace reminded Sylvia, "As a woman, I hope you can maintain a clear head and know your priorities. Don't do anything you shouldn't do."

Sylvia replied, "I know, Mom. I'm not as introverted as Celeste, and I'm much more shameless."

"So what?" Grace replied. "You think you're luckier than Celeste just because you're shameless?"

Sylvia blinked innocently as she nodded.

That was what she meant.

"Who said that Celeste is unlucky?"

Grace shot a look at Sylvia. "I feel that Celeste Ras been through way too much since she was a child, I'm sure her life will be smooth sailing in the future. As for you, you were born with a silver spoon in your mouth. You were spoiled by your father since you were a child. You've never had it hard, so I'm sure life will throw you some curveballs along the way."

Sylvia froze at that.

"Love, you can't conclude whether you're lucky or not so early in life," Grace said wisely.
