True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz)

Chapter 2121

Chapter 2121

Sylvia was unable to calm down for a long time as she tried to process what she just heard. She wasn't sure how to take in the information, so she just nodded and said, "I won't ask too many questions."

Claudia smiled and said, "Actually, he's changed a lot over the years. Kendrix became famous quite young, and what's written about him in the papers only glorifies him. Actually, I know he's just a normal person who needs love as well. If you're in love with him just because of his public persona which is bright and nice, I'll have to discourage you from pursuing him."

"No way!" Sylvia shook her head. "I'm not in love with him because of what I heard of him. I have feelings for him from the first time we met. It's kind of like love at first sight."

"Sebastian is the same for me." Claudia smiled. "Love at first sight is very common."

Sylvia was surprised before she shared a look with Claudia and smiled.

At that moment, Lowell walked over with tickets in hand. He spotted the two girls smiling.

"Oh, nothing much." Sylvia shook her head.

Lowell didn't press for answers as he figured it was just a random secret the girls shared between themselves.

"I've bought the entry tickets and some candles to light at the altar. We'll just light them in front of the pews."

"Oh, thanks! How much are they? I'll pay you back later," Claudia said.

"No need," Lowell replied.

"No, the candles cost money, and it's only sincere if you buy it yourself. You can't have others do it for you," Claudia said.

"Is that so?" Lowell was taken aback. "I didn't know there's such thing."

"It's all right, no time like the present to learn things. Give me your WhatsApp, I'll contact you to transfer the money to you." "All right."

Lowell gave Claudia his WhatsApp and she quickly transferred the money to him. Lowell didn't stop her further.

At the same time, Sylvia transferred him money as well.

"Sylvia, why'd you give me money too?" Lowell said as he glanced at her.

Sylvia replied, "Claudia is right. I believe what she said too. We should get the candles for ourselves to prove the sincerity of our prayers, since we are all praying for different things."

"However, we're a family." Lowell was a little exasperated.

"That's why we didn't give you the money for the tickets." Claudia explained.

Lowell had no comeback to that.

The three of them lit the candles and sincerely said their prayers in front of the pews.

Sylvia closed her eyes and prayed. She hoped that Kendrix would have a smooth life going forward.

That was the only thing she wished for.

On the other hand, Lowell only wished for one thing as well. He wished for Celeste and Gary to get back together.

No one knew what Claudia was praying for.

Claudia closed her eyes and prayed for a very long time.

Sylvia opened her eyes to find that Claudia had her eyes closed. A couple of minutes passed before Claudia finished praying.

She looked very solemn, and there was no trace of the jovial mood she had earlier on her face.

Her serious attitude made Sylvia hesitate to ask her about her prayer.

After they lit the candles, they went around the church grounds, taking in the view.

"Let's check out the backyard." Sylvia suggested.

"Sounds good." Claudia nodded her head.

She knew what Sylvia was up to. Sylvia probably wanted to check out where Kendrix used to study long ago.

Claudia smiled and led the way.

They walked along a paved road past a pine forest. After that, they ascended a long flight of stone steps.

After a while, a familiar figure came into view.

Sylvia was dumbfounded.

Kendrix was there.

Didn't he leave earlier on?

What was he doing at the church that day?

Sylvia froze in place for a long time, and her eyes were completely focused on Kendrix.

Meanwhile, Claudia was struck with disbelief at the sight of Kendrix too.

She glanced at Kendrix before she looked at Sylvia, who was standing next to her. That had to be some strange stroke of fate.

They had coincidentally met even on

a trip to the church. Claudia guessed

that Sylvia and Kendrix must have something connecting the both of them.

Both women just stood there, not moving and stared at Kendrix.

Meanwhile, Kendrix's eyes were fixated on the stone tables and chairs in front of him, his back facing them.

He stood there like a statue, and no one had any idea what was running through his mind.

Lowell didn't know what was going on, but he stopped when the both of them did.

The way Sylvia stared at the man's back confused him.

Lowell looked at the back of Kendrix. He was tall and slim, and he was very cool.

Even his back looked very attractive.

It seemed that Sylvia knew that man, but he couldn't be sure about it.

He asked, "Sylvia, do you know him?"

Alas, Sylvia acted as if she didn't hear him speak. She wasn't responding to him at all.

Claudia said, "That's my cousin." "Mr. Trevino?" Lowell was stunned.

"Yeah." Claudia nodded. "I didn't expect him to be here either. He had originally planned on going back today."

Sylvia remained silent, immersed in her own thoughts.

Kendrix had no idea that they were there as he still had his back turned to them.

"Hi, Kendrix." Claudia guessed that Sylvia wasn't going to say anything first in her lovestruck daze, so she broke the silence. "Turn around."

Hearing Claudia, Kendrix turned around and looked at them with a calm and gentle look.

Lowell didn't know much about what

was going on as he only knew that Mr. Trevino was Sylvia's teacher and Claudia's cousin. Hence, he just greeted him, "Hi there, Mr. Trevino. I'm Sylvia's uncle, Lowell Jones. It's so nice to meet you. It's indeed our fate. Let's have lunch together, shall we? It's on me."

Sylvia finally came back to her senses as she looked at Kendrix with a blushing face.

Lowell's suggestion made hope bloom inside her chest.

If they could have lunch together, then she would be able to spend more time with Kendrix.

She looked at Kendrix expectantly.

However, Kendrix replied in a faint voice, "Nice to meet you too, Mr. Jones. Thanks for the invite, but i don't think it's necessary. I have

errands to run."

"Come on, Kendrix, what errands do you have? You look like you've got time to kill, so why not have lunch together?" Claudia asked as she smiled.

Sylvia gaped at Kendrix for a moment before she mustered up the courage to say, "Yeah, Mr. Trevino. You can run your errands after lunch."

Kendrix glanced at Claudia with a hint of reproach in his eyes.

Claudia just smiled nonchalantly at Kendrix. She would just pretend to not notice his glare, no matter how sharp it was.

Then, Kendrix looked over at Sylvia.

Sylvia stared back at Kendrix intently.

Lowell asked, "Let's have lunch then, Mr. Trevino?"

Kendrix deliberated for a moment before he finally nodded and agreed.
