True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz)

Chapter 219

Chapter 219

After dealing with the case, Jensen looked at his watch. It was half- past four in the afternoon. He drove

to Northern City University.

He was going to visit Alice Smith.

He found out that Alice was studying in Northern City University.

When he arrived at the University, he was so lucky that he happened to bump into Alice who was

leaving to go pick up Little Gary.

He immediately stopped and got out of the car, walking in her direction.

From a distance, he could see that she was wearing a white sweater and a pair of black slim-fit pants.

Her legs looked long and attractive in those well-tailored pants.

Jensen looked at her with mixed feelings. He felt different when he met her yesterday. He never

thought that it was really her. Nôvel/Dr(a)ma.Org - Content owner.

Six years ago, she was only seventeen years old, she was still so young.

And, he had...

Thinking of this, Jensen felt guilty.

He walked towards Alice nervously.

Jensen's heart was beating quickly as he approached Alice.

He felt more guilty now.

He took a deep breath and called out her name, "Alice!"

Alice was stunned. She looked up and squinted her eyes. It was a sunny day.

She saw a tall man looking at her. The man was so close to her.

He was staring at Alice with deep affection.

She took a step forward and took a closer look at the man.

"Oh, it's you!"

Jensen was nervous when he heard her voice. He said, "Yeah, it's me. Jensen."

Alice didn't expect to run into him. She asked in surprise, "What are you doing here?"

"I was just passing by and happened to see you. So, I got off the car, thought I'd come over to say

hello!" Jensen said. He looked at her and smiled. He asked, "Where are you going? Let me drive you

there."

Alice frowned and looked into Jensen's dark eyes. She asked, "Why do you want to give me a ride?"

She was always guarded against all men.

Also, this man has been staring at her strangely ever since he started the conversation with her.

And Alice didn't like that feeling.

Jensen's heart ached when he realized Alice had built a wall around herself. He remembered Grace

told him that her sister was afraid of men because of what happened to her six years ago.

Thinking about this, he felt very uncomfortable.

"Your sister is my friend. So, I feel it's reasonable to give you a ride." He said sincerely, trying to show a

trusting impression.

Alice frowned. After thinking for a while, she said, "Officer Charm, how's the injured person yesterday?"

Jensen was stunned as the sudden change of topic. He said, "Your sister has settled it for you."

Alice said, "I know. I'm asking you because I know my sister has settled it."

Jensen was a little surprised. He looked at Alice with confusion in his eyes.

Alice could tell that he did not understand what she was trying to say. She continued, "Well, my sister

cares about my feelings. That's why she doesn't want to tell me the truth."

Upon hearing this, Jensen's heart ached again.

He wanted to tell her the truth but the words just did not come out.

They really had a good relationship. Alice's sister helped her to pay for the medical expenses and she

even cared about Alice's feelings. That was why she refused to let Alice know the truth.

It was reasonable for Alice to suspect her sister was lying to her.

"I know that my sister might be hiding the truth from me. She'll still refuse to tell me even if I begged.

Officer Charm, can you please tell me the truth? How badly was that person injured? How much were

the medical expenses? Please tell me." Alice said.

Jensen felt a little uneasy when he saw her pleading with him.

He said in a slightly hoarse voice, "Miss Smith, your sister is really a good sister to you."

"I know that! My sister is better than my mother looking after me. Please tell me the truth." Alice said.

Jensen stared at her, feeling extremely conflicted. He was afraid that Grace's efforts would be in vain if

he told her the truth.

However, he was afraid that Alice would be angry at him if he refused to let her know.

Jensen looked at Alice and remained silent.

Alice looked at Jensen, anticipating an answer. He had a sorrowful look on his face which made him

look very attractive.

Alice felt that he had promised Grace that he'll keep this secret. Then, she said, "Officer Charm. I'll not

tell my sister about this. This is will be our little secret."

Jensen was stunned. He repeated her words, "Our secret?"

Alice nodded her head and said, "Yes. It's our secret. Just between you and me. I know you might have

promised my sister. So, you don't have to feel guilty that she'll know."

Jensen felt that she was really a kind girl. She could be seen through easily as well.

It being their little secret attracted him.

"Fine, I'll tell you. I just hope that you won't feel like you were a burden. I will help you to deal with this

matter as well." Jensen said.

"Please just tell me." Alice was a little anxious. She really wanted to know the truth.

Jensen said, "The medical expenses cost 150,000 dollars. Heinz paid for it. But, your sister did not

want to owe him any money. So, she paid him back 200,000 dollars."

"150,000 dollars?" Alice was shocked.

She thought, 'That's a lot! How can my sister brush this off and tell me it cost just a few thousand

dollars!'

"Sister must have really known it will make me feel like I was a burden"

She squatted on the ground in shock, hugging herself with her hands. She buried her face in her arms.

Jensen's heart sank when he saw Alice's reaction.

She looked miserable . She used to hug herself this way to make herself feel secure.

Jensen squatted down in front of Alice.

Alice looked up to see Jensen squatting down to be with her, when she felt him move.

She was stunned. She asked, "Why are you down here with me?"

Jensen looked at her fondly and said, "I want to keep you company."

Alice was very shocked.

She was very touched as well.

She looked at Jensen in a daze.

After a long time, she said, "My sister made you promise not to tell me the truth, right?"

"She didn't exactly say it. But, it was implied." Jensen said.

"You've betrayed my sister. Don't you feel guilty?" Alice asked.

Jensen stared at Alice and said, "I just know that I can't lie to you."
