Chapter 248
Chapter 248
"Little Aunt, you don't look very well. What happened?" Gary asked.
He was being picked up by Alice. They walked back from the kindergarten hand in hand.
Little Gary took several glances at his aunt and noticed that she was frowning, sighing, and then
daydreaming for a moment, as if something had happened.
There was no doubt that there was something odd about this.
He raised his little face and asked Alice about it.
Alice was dazed. She looked at her nephew, shook her head and said, "It's fine."
"You don't look like you're fine," Little Gary said seriously, "If you don't tell me, I won't tell you anything
in the future."
Alice was speechless for a while before she asked, "Are you threatening me?"
"Yes."
"All right," Alice said. "Your mommy won't be able to come home today."
"Is she in a relationship?"
"You can say so."
"What do you mean?" he was confused.
"Your father was bitten by a snake. Your mommy
sucked the poison out for him. Now both of them are being hospitalized to get treatment," Alice said.
"Is it very serious?" Little Gary's facial expression changed. He immediately frowned and was very
worried. "How is Mommy? I want to see my mommy."
"She's all right now," she reassured him. "From the looks of it, there shouldn't be any life-threatening
danger for the time being."
"Did mommy suck the poison out for him?" Little Gary still couldn't believe it.
Alice nodded and said, "Yes, your mommy was not afraid of dying. She sucked the poison out. I'm so
mad at her." "Why are you angry?" Little Gary frowned as he looked at her.
Alice looked back at him and asked, "How can I not be angry? Your mommy doesn't care about
herself."
"This is mommy's choice." Little Gary said, "Although I'm also very sad, it's useless for us to be angry
since my mommy chose to risk her life."
"Oh, Gary." Alice frowned. "Is it because the person your mommy saved was your father?"
"No." Little Gary shook his head. "I just think mommy is a fool."
"What."
"She shouldn't have given birth to me in the first place, but she did it anyway. Now, she's risking her life
to help that person by sucking out the venom. She's really a fool." Little Gary sighed. "So I have to
grow up quickly and protect mommy."
Hearing his words, Alice lowered her head and stared at him for quite some time.
In the end, she sighed and said, "You're right. Your mommy is stupid, and I'm being silly as well."
" You're just worried about Mommy. You love Mommy so much." He comforted her.
"Alas!" Alice sighed.
Gary comforted his aunt, "I know what's on your mind. I understand. I just feel that you don't have to be
so fixated on it anymore."
"I want to let go of it as well, but I can't help it." Alice sighed again. "Well, your mommy has Heinz
Jones to protect her, so we don't have to worry too much. Let's go buy some groceries now. We can
only grow stronger if we had a full stomach."
"Okay." Little Gary nodded. "Let's go to the supermarket."
The two of them held each other's hand and went to the large underground supermarket outside of
Emerald Apartment.
As soon as they entered, Alice pushed the cart and went to pick fresh vegetables.
Little Gary followed after her.
Suddenly, he saw something and said to Alice, "Auntie, I'll be heading over there. You can pick the
vegetables first. I'll look for you later."
"What are you going to do?" Alice looked at the direction he was pointing at. There was a huge fish,
which seemed like it weighed hundreds of pounds, placed on a small cart. The supermarket staff was
cutting it up, and there were a few people surrounding it.
"They're selling fish over there. I'll go and have a look." Little Gary answered honestly, "That fish is so
big."
"Go ahead." Alice instructed, "Don't run around. If you are lost, go to the radio station and call for me
immediately. Don't go out of the supermarket with anyone, understand?"
"I know what I'm doing. Don't worry." Little Gary patted his chest.
Alice nodded. "Well, I trust you because you're smart. But you're still too young."
"All right!" Little Gary could not wait any longer and ran to the area where the fish was sold.
Alice went to pick fruits and vegetables.
At this moment, the area where the fish was sold was surrounded by a group of people. It was bustling
with people.
Little Gary ran over and got into the crowd. He noticed that it was a salted fish and was dried. Now it
was already cut into pieces and was ready to be sold.
The little fellow got very excited and asked the staff, "Uncle, what kind of fish is this?"
"This is a pickled tuna. Little friend, would you like a piece?" The staff looked at the cute little boy and
was very fond of him. He said teasingly, "It's a little salty, but it's nice."
Little Gary said, "Please give me the best piece." NôvelDrama.Org exclusive content.
"Really?" The staff asked with a smile.
"Yes!" "Okay, I'll cut out the best piece and give it to you."
The staff said as he cut a piece of the fish for him. The color of the fish was beautiful.
He cut it and placed it into the bag. He then weighed it and stuck the price on it.
"Well, kid, take it." The staff handed it over.
"Okay, thank you, Uncle." Little Gary took the bag and continued to stare at it.
At this time, Jensen had also entered the supermarket. He noticed the supermarket as he was turning
out from Emerald Apartment and decided to buy something and bring it back for dinner.
As soon as he came in, he noticed the fish was being cut and went over. There, a little fellow caught his
attention. When he looked carefully at his face, he froze instantly.
His little face bore a resemblance to Heinz Jones.
He immediately walked over and stood beside Little Gary. He looked at the child and asked, "Kid,
what's your name?"
Gary looked up and saw a policeman. He looked at him in surprise.
"Mr. Police, are you asking me?" he asked.
Jensen was astounded when he saw Little Gary's face.
Isn't this a mini version of Heinz Jones?
The resemblance is uncanny.
He was startled. He couldn't believe what he just saw. Everyone would believe if they said that the kid
was Heinz's child.
He was a little excited and asked, "Child, what's your name? Where are your parents?"
"Why are you asking me this?" The little fellow was very smart and wouldn't answer easily. "You're
wearing a fake uniform, aren't you? Are you a real policeman? Or are you a fraud?"
After being asked a series of questions, Jensen was amused. "Child, you should answer my question
first."
"My mommy is with my father. I'm here with my Aunt. Is that okay?" Little Gary asked in return.
"Alright," Jensen answered bemusedly.
"Then answer my question quickly,” he urged. "I asked you, but you haven't answered."
"I'm a real policeman," Jensen said. "This police uniform is real. I'm not a fraud, okay?"
"Why are you wearing your police uniform?" Little Gary continued to question.
"I didn't have time to change out of it. I had a meeting today." Jensen explained patiently.
"Are you sure you're not wearing a uniform just to flirt with girls?"
