True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz)

Chapter 254

Chapter 254

Back at the ward,

Grace could see that dinner was ready and it smelled amazing.

Heinz sat next to the bed, having not eaten yet. He seemed to be waiting for her.

There were two portions, one on the folding table beside his bed, and the other one on hers. He could

have eaten first.

As soon as Heinz saw her enter the room, he asked, "How was it?"

Grace replied, "The liver, spleen, and kidney are all in good condition. It seems that the organs are not

affected."

"But the poison did get into the bloodstream."

"Well I guess it must've been mild," Grace said. "I'm going to the bathroom." Content © NôvelDrama.Org.

He nodded.

The door to the bathroom closed.re

Alex reported to Heinz in a low voice, "President, we ran into Marry Smith and her husband. She was

throwing insults at Miss Smith and I ended up giving her a slap on the face."

"One only?" Heinz was not impressed. "If it happens again, slap a few more times."

"Yes, president!" Alex nodded right away.

"What did she say?" Heinz asked.

Alex revealed everything to him. The more he listened, the angrier he became. He frowned tightly,

trembling with anger.

"Marry finally showed her true colors. She has been pretending to be a good wife and a good mother.

She just couldn't hide it any longer."

"I've been keeping an eye on her," Alex said.

While he was talking, the bodyguard suddenly said at the door, "Mr. Logan."

Alex headed to the door, and the bodyguard whispered something in his ear.

Alex returned and reported to Heinz, "Our man just reported on Marry Smith's test results. She's

probably going to br infertile for her whole life."

Heinz was surprised, "Karma hit fast, huh!"

"She totally deserved it for trying to frame Miss Smith," Alex said.

Heinz's eyes deepened.

Grace happened to walk out and heard their conversation.

"Alex, is it true about Marry?" she asked.

"Miss Smith." Alex turned his head and saw Grace. He nodded and answered, "That's true."

"You sure the doctor didn't do it on purpose?"

"No of course," Alex said. "We didn't have a hand in this. It already wasn't easy for the doctor to

disclose the results to us."

A trace of regret flashed across Grace's face. "If I had known that her retribution would come so fast, I

wouldn't have said those words. I've no doubt that she'd blame it on me again that I cursed her."

"Forget about it." Heinz said with disgust, "Serves her right that she has been so wicked. How could

she still blame it on others?"

"Her blaming is done out of habit,” Grace said. "But no matter what, losing a child and not getting one

again is pretty cruel for a woman."

"Is she worth your pity?" Heinz asked.

"No, she isn't." Grace walked to the table and said, "But she's my sister after all. Perhaps it was not

appropriate for me to say those words to her. But again, that's the best thing I could say at that time."

"That's right. Let's eat," Heinz said.

Grace nodded.

Alex left the room.

Grace sat cross- legged on the bed, adjusted the table to face her, and started eating.

Heinz glanced at her and said, "This is not a bad thing. Only karma could deal with a person like her."

Grace took a bite of meat and looked up, her gaze fixed on his eyes. She said, "Thinking about it,

although I hate to admit, it's kind of comforting. Am I too mean?"

"Comforting?" Heinz raised his eyebrows.

"After hearing the news, I felt comforted, and then a little uneasy. But more of the former. I'm human

anyway, it just felt right that she ended up being punished after how she treated me."

Grace felt awkward analyzing her feelings.

"Well, that's totally normal." Heinz said, "This feeling is the most real. First, it feels good seeing

someone who despises you got her lesson, then you might feel sorry for her. But it's normal for one to

take pleasure in others' misfortune."

Grace was silent for a moment, seeming to agree with his statement.

After a while, Grace said, "Let's eat. Don't let her put us off. It'll be such a waste of the food."

The food delivered from the Jones family was scrumptious.

Eating is the most important thing in life.

Heinz nodded, "Okay, eat up! Didn't you just say that you were hungry?"

"Yes."

After that, it was as if nothing had happened.

However, not everything could be ignored just like that.

When Grace finished her meal at about half past six, her phone rang.

It was a combination of numbers that she seemed familiar with.

It should be Simon's.

The number that she was so familiar with six years ago.

She hesitated, took a deep breath, and answered the phone. "Hello, who is this?"

There was a moment of silence before he opened his mouth and said, "Grace, it's me, Simon."

It was really Simon's voice over the phone. There was a trace of bitterness in his voice.

His voice was low and soft, full of apologies.

Just like six years ago.

But Grace knew that it was all in the past.

She said, "Oh, Simon. What did you call me for?"

She couldn't tell what the purpose of his call was, whether to make accusations or to apologize.

Judging from the tone of his voice, it seemed to be the latter. But he wouldn't apologize, would he?

He was sure that she was the one who caused Marry's miscarriage.

"I'm sorry," Simon finally said. He sounded sincere. "I was wrong. I shouldn't have believed all that

slanderous talk about you. I know that you wouldn't have done so."

Grace held the phone and frowned. "I don't understand."

Simon paused for a moment and said softly, "Marry's miscarriage. I know it had nothing to do with you."

"Oh," Grace said. "That's true."

Simon continued, "Grace, I lost my cool and spoke ill of you. I'm so sorry."

"You're calling me just to say sorry?" Grace asked.

"Yes, I'm sorry," Simon apologized again.

Grace paused for a moment and looked up inadvertently. Heinz was sitting next to her, but their eyes

didn't meet.

"Fine," Grace said flatly. "If there's nothing else, I'll hang up."

"Grace!" Simon called out hastily.

Grace frowned and said in a deep voice, "Now what?"

Simon then asked, "Grace, why are you in hospital?"
