Chapter 261
Chapter 261
"Don't open the door yet," Grace called out to Alice.
"Why are you afraid of her?" Alice looked like she was ready to fight. "She's the one who came to you.
It's a waste if we don't take this chance to teach her a lesson."
Grace said, "I know. Why don't you put the groceries in the kitchen first?"
"Huh?" Alice blinked her eyes in astonishment and then said, "You're really something."
She then picked up the groceries from the floor and brought them to the kitchen.
Grace nodded with satisfaction. "That's it. I'll settle things with her myself."
"Knock-knock," the knocking continued.
Marry seemed like she was going to keep on knocking if the door was not answered.
"Let's answer it. I'm afraid she would leave and we won't be able to sort it out with her," Alice said
worriedly.
"Don't be in a hurry. Let's test her patience," Grace said. "Based on my understanding of her, she
wouldn't give up easily until she reaches her goal. I think we should wait." "But—" Alice hesitated.
"Go get a basin of cold water," Grace whispered.
Upon hearing this, Alice caught the idea and immediately headed to the kitchen.
Grace came after her and asked, "Are there any beans in the kitchen?"
Alice thought for a while and nodded, "Yes, there is a packet of red beans left."
"I'll go look for it," Grace said and proceeded to search through the kitchen.
Meanwhile, Alice got the basin of water ready.
Grace then poured the red beans into the water.
"So the plan is, I'll open the door and dodge, then you'll splash the water out. We have to pull this off
together, okay?"
"Okay." Alice smiled devilishly. "I like your righteous look now, Grace. You shouldn't be taken for
granted."
"Focus," Grace reminded.
"Don't worry." Alice carried the basin of water loaded with red beans and walked toward the door and
placed it on the shoe cabinet, holding onto it with her hands.
"Knock-knock-"
The knocking still hadn't stopped.
Grace winked at Alice and opened the door.
Marry stood at the door with a proud look on her face. She smiled slightly and said, "I knew that you
were home. How was it? Heinz came to you just now, didn't he? Does he know about the child?"
"You told him," Grace said indifferently.
"Yes, I did." Marry said with a mocking grin, "I'll get back what I lost from you." "You're out of your
mind," Grace said coldly. "You lost your baby, and we both know the reason behind it. You probably
didn't expect that you would actually get pregnant, and now your little tricks got back on yourself. Hah, Belongs © to NôvelDrama.Org.
this really is karma talking."
"It's all because of you!” Marry suddenly became hysterical and raised her hand to hit Grace.
Grace quickly took a step back. As they planned, Alice splashed the water on her.
"Swish-"
The water and beans landed right on Marry.
"Ah—" Startled, her hands froze in the air. Her hair was drenched.
Holding the basin in one hand, Alice rested her other hand on her waist and said, "I'm warning you,
Marry. Don't you dare come to our house again. I'm not scared of you. It's your business that you lost
your child. It has nothing to do with us!"
"How dare you!" Marry widened her eyes, water still dripping from her face. She was so pissed off that
she rushed toward Grace and Alice, wanting to tear them apart.
However, she was not aware that the floor was scattered with beans and she was wearing high heels.
Once she stepped on the beans, she slipped and her knees landed on the ground.
"Oh, now you resort to kneeling down in front of us?" Alice said sarcastically.
Smiling lightly, Grace gave her a cold gaze, "You'd better not come to me again, Marry. You've already
got what you wished between me and Heinz. We have broken up. Now, please leave, or we'll continue
to tear you apart."
"You—" Still feeling the pain of her fall, she felt so embarrassed that her trip here hadn't turned out the
way she wanted it to.
"That's it," Grace said. "Playing dirty is not my thing. You've violated my limits again and again. The
water and beans were all my ideas. You deserved it."
The ground was too slippery, and Marry was having a hard time trying to stand up. She could only stay
on the ground and shouted, "You are so despicable."
"We wouldn't have done this if you didn't turn up here," Grace said coldly. "This is all your fault."
"You still have the audacity to say so?" Alice sneered. "We're already not bothering you, and yet you
just had to break Grace and Heinz up. You were just full of spite."
"You two are such bullies!" Marry pointed at Alice and said, "I won't let this go easily. Just wait."
"Crazy b*tch," Alice scolded. "Close the door, Grace."
Just as Grace moved to close the door.
There was a ringing sound from the elevator.
Sound of footsteps could be heard, and a tall figure came in a hurry, followed by two other persons.
Both Grace and Alice were stunned.
It was Simon Brown. He had brought two men with him. They were in suits and looked very strong.
When he arrived at Grace's door, what he saw was the wet ground scattered with red beans and Marry
laying on the ground.
Grace and Alice were stunned. They didn't expect Simon to appear.
Grace moved in front of Alice to shield her, intending to face Simon on her own.
She looked at him with clear eyes.
Simon returned her gaze and said nothing. He proceeded to order the two men behind him, "Bring her
back and lock her up. She's not well enough to be out and about."
"How dare you, Simon!" Marry screamed as soon as she heard Simon's voice.
Still looking at Grace, Simon didn't even glance at Marry. He then said, "You haven't fully recovered,
Marry. You'd better go back and have some rest."
"No!" Marry shook her head and struggled while being carried away.
Simon stood at the door and said, "I'm sorry, Grace."
"It's not your fault" Grace said matter-of-factly. "But if she comes and causes trouble again, I can't
promise I'll let it go easily."
"I'll keep an eye on her," Simon promised.
Grace looked calm and gave him no response.
"Hmph," Alice snorted. "Let me warn you, Simon. Marry's mind is twisted now, and I guess you're not
far from it too, seeing how you've been accusing Grace." "Alice." Simon apologized sincerely, "I'm
sorry. I was wrong."
Alice pursed her lips and ignored him, and turned to get the broom.
Simon looked at Grace again.
"You should leave," she said in a flat voice.
"Grace." Simon gazed at her deeply and said, "Can I have a talk with you?"
