Passion 12
Yvette finally understood what Daphne had meant by her parting words. The latter had resorted to complaining about her to Xavier.
Before Yvette could respond, Xavier spoke again, "Our divorce is between us. You shouldn't have gotten physical with Daphne. She's in the hospital now." Yvette was stunned for a moment. Then, she quickly realized the situation.
She hadn't expected that Daphne would resort to such despicable tactics to frame her. What was even more incredulous was that Xavier actually believed it.
"Believe it or not, I just happened to meet her. I did nothing to her." Yvette then hung up immediately.
In the hospital, Xavier's expression became strained. Daphne lay on the hospital bed with a bandaged forehead. After that brief meeting with Yvette, she had hit her own head and accused Yvette of the act. "I just wanted to have a proper talk with her, but she..."
Daphne didn't finish her sentence. Instead, she took out a stack of photos and handed them to Xavier. She'd had
someone take the photos after she had found out that Yvette was pregnant.
"I don't want to cover up for her anymore. Xav, please don't get angry when you see these photos."
el the photos, and his gaze turned stormy upon
seeing their content.
The stack of photos was all of Yvette and Claude together. The pictures showed them being kind of intimate with each other. It pushed Xavier to the brink of losing his cool.
Daphne sat up and added, "Fortunately, I came across these photos and bought them. It would have been disastrous if these had gotten leaked."
Xavier felt immensely tro.icd. After leaving the hospital, he sat in his understated matte black Maybach and instructed Mark to transfer the money Daphne had paid to get the photos. Then, he ordered, "Find out where Yvette is now."
"Sure," Mark replied. Then, he arranged for someone to look into it.
Yvette was plagued by nightmares the whole night.
In her dreams, Xavier and Daphne got married. They were incredibly happy together.
She also dreamt about the times when Xavier had left her and traveled far away whenever he was angry with her. When he did that, she had never been able to find him.
Then, she dreamt of Xavier regretting his actions and apologizing to her-he even suggested that they reconcile. In the dream, Yvette didn't hesitate to agree.
But not long after, Xavier left her again and disappeared.Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.

and found that they were wet with tears. People said that one tended to dream about what they kept thinking of during the day.
Yvette didn't dare hold onto any hope that Xavier would regret how he had treated her, nor did she dare to think whether she would forgive him.
The rain continued to pour outside. After getting out of bed and washing up, Yvette c
't want to wait any longer.
She was about to call Xavier and ask him to meet her at the courthouse when someone knocked on the door.
Thinking it was Claude, she went to open it. But, to her surprise, she found Mark standing outside, wearing a standard business suit and gold-rimmed glasses. Mark was a very capable assistant, so he'd had no trouble finding her location.
"Mr. Xyrax, what brings you here?" Yvette asked.
Mark glanced inside the room. Taking note that there wasn't a man inside, he said in a polite yet distant tone, "Ms.
Snyder, Mr. Lane asked me to take you home."
As always, Mark addressed her as "Ms. Snyder". Yvette had grown accustomed to it.
She lowered her eyes and replied, "I'm not going back. Since you're here, please help me inform Mr. Lane that I'd like to finalize the divorce.today."
She remembered Xavier's call from the day before. He had accused her of hurting Daphne right off the bat. She didn't 164 endure his accusatory tone
once more.
Mark was taken aback. He had heard about Yvette wanting to divorce Xavier but hadn't witnessed it firsthand. After all, Yvette used to stick to Xavier like glue. Frowning slightly, Mark advised, "Ms. Snyder, I suggest you know your limits. Mr. Lane is already quite angry right now."
