Unforgiven Sins

Chapter 50: The Letter of my Dad

Cinyla’s POV

I just chose to forget what happened the other day. It’s a good thing he doesn’t say anything about it because it’s embarrassing. Why did he kiss me? Why is his moves so fast? We are currently in the main room. Today is Monday and nothing makes me feel strange anymore, I hope it doesn’t.

“Are you ready? We’ll eat first and later you can go back to your room to pack. The other one didn’t do anything either, I thought it would be over and we’d know who was threatening Cinyla.” Sir BenChua listens to Joshua looking at him.

I hope they don’t fight in front of me.

“It’s not easy to recognize the mystery maker, especially if we’re just here inside your big palace,” Joshua answered as if he wanted to say something else. Indeed, we don’t know, especially since there isn’t enough evidence and the man who makes me feel like a mushroom.

It’s true, it’s not easy to know someone who doesn’t want to introduce themselves to us.

“Okay fine, Joshua. Let’s end here, it’s better to go home to Manila. I have so much work to do, right Cinyla?” He looked at me as if I should immediately agree.

“Y-yes!” I answered quickly because I didn’t want to have more

intense tension between the two of them.

“Maybe it’s better that you go back to your room Joshua.” I pulled his hand out.

“Let’s leave first sir, we’ll just come back after fixing the things.” I forced a smile and left the main room.

“You know your boss, guess who it is! I’m the one who helped because I know my instincts are right and based on what I gathered.” We stopped halfway. Fortunately, there were no bodyguards who followed and our room was closed.

“What is your answer to everything, Joshua?” I asked and looked at him seriously.

“I know someone is intervening between you, Cinyla. I also understand that you have fallen in love with him. But your Daddy is alive. Based on the initials and the tricks he does. That is the strong reason for those you ask. Your pasts are also related.” It’s a long explanation that I don’t understand more and more.

“How can you say that our pasts are related? You’re not a fortune teller, Joshua,” I said jokingly.

“I’ll also admit that I can fall in love with sir, he is also a broken family. It’s funny that we can often relate to things. But yes, he’s also annoying sometimes. But it’s unclear that we’re brothers if that’s what you go.”

Joshua sighed and held my hand.

“You know Cinyla, I admit that you like him. But as a friend. Always be careful with your decisions and actions. Get to know him well, before you let him into your life. That’s why I chose to be here, I want to protect you. I am here because I am worried.”

I smiled at what he said. I don’t always get along with him, but he’s a true friend. But is it just friends?

“Thank you, Joshua. Alright, we’d better pack up and talk about important things later. I’ll remember everything you said.”

I also let go of his tight grip and we were embarrassed for a few seconds. I bit my lower lip. It’s awkward!

Silence seemed to prevail over both of us. I swallowed and started to break the silence.

“Alright Joshua, I’ll go into the room first. See you later.” I waved at him, he smiled and I didn’t wait for him to speak. I just tapped my card to get inside.

When I entered the courtyard, I took a deep breath. I immediately went straight to the bed to fix what I had to do. But something seemed strange, I felt a cold wind. The window and the air conditioner are closed. My heart beat faster as I looked at my white bed. I saw a red envelope.

I swallowed hard and clutched both my hands. “What is it? Hello, is there anyone here? Hell-hello?”

I’m like a crazy person talking to the wind. I waited a few more seconds and looked around.

I spoke again. “Is anyone here?” I plucked up the courage and took the envelope. Nothing shows but an envelope is left behind.

I opened it and there was a letter inside. I read it and my heart beat fast like there was no tomorrow.

Hi Cinyla,

I know you’ve been thinking, especially you. I miss you. Miss you miss, let me show up soon and meet you. I don’t want to scare you, sorry if it got to this point. It’s not easy for me either. Please talk, don’t fall for BenChua. You can’t. I will not agree either. Just listen to Joshua. Always be careful, be careful when you go home.

I love you.

I let go of the letter I was holding and it was as if I felt electricity and suddenly shivered.NôvelD(ram)a.ôrg owns this content.

“Who are you? Who! Why are you writing like this?” Even though I have no one to talk to, I keep talking.

“Stop me, stop using Daddy’s initials. This is not yours! You have no right to use it. My Daddy died 2 years ago. That’s right!” I said out loud. I was shocked when the door suddenly opened.

“Are you okay Cinyla? I’m sorry I came in. I was about to knock but I heard your scream. Are you talking to someone?” Joshua asked in shock. I quickly came to him and hugged him tightly.

“Joshua, thank you for coming here! I don’t know who sent the letter. I’m so scared. This time, what he sent is creepy. I don’t know what to do.” I said crying.

“Calm down, I’m here now.” He patted my back to calm me down because my whole body and personality were still shaking because of the creepy letter I read.

Later I was fine. “Thank you, Joshua. Sorry, I was just shocked.” He just smiled at me and ruffled my hair. “It’s okay, I’m glad I heard you. Where’s the letter? Can I read it?” it asked.

“Sure! I let it go because I was nervous and scared.” I quickly looked for it until I heard Joshua reading something like what I read earlier.

“Is that it, Cinyla?” he asked and showed me the letter.

“That’s it! Where did you see it?”

“It’s here at my feet, sorry. The content of the letter is not good. Besides, his initials are like your Daddy’s signature, right?” this question caused me to be confused and raise my eyebrows.

“How did you know, Joshua? I didn’t tell you but how did you tell Daddy that?” Many questions want to pop into my mind right now.

“Yes, you didn’t mention it to me but before I did research about your Daddy. Based on my research, every letter that has written has his initials as his signature.

He also gave a clue because his letter stated the name Paulo. My chest heaved even more and I looked at the paper because there was no Paulo written there.

“Huh? Where? I didn’t see anything earlier.” I tried to look but there was nothing.

Joshua showed me the one with big letters. I covered my mouth because I didn’t notice it. I thought it was on purpose, but the capslock letters mean something.

“This is not a joke, right? But it could be because Daddy has been gone for a long time.” Because of the letter I received, I feel like I’m losing my mind. This is not good. It’s impossible that Daddy is still alive. But if he is alive, why is he doing things like this? Besides, why didn’t he show up with Mommy? Where is he? what is he doing?

I sat on the bed. I gasped and closed my eyes because I was so confused. “Hey calm down! You might be upset, it’s better not to understand that. But we need to say this to your boss so he knows you received a letter.”

I just nodded to him. I can’t do anything either. Even if I mumble here and think about whether it’s true or not. I can’t get an answer. This is so frustrating. I do not know.

“Sorry Joshua, it’s still making you think and feel about it. Let me be okay, and yes we’ll tell Sir BenChua about it too.” I forced a smile and he held my hand to reassure me that everything would be okay.

A few moments later, someone suddenly entered my room. I let go of Joshua’s grip.

“S-sir?”

“What do I need to know and why are you two together? What happened here, Cinyla?” a serious voice made me feel nervous.
