Unrivalled God of War

Chapter 18

Chapter 18

Benson and Leah asked them about the incident at dinner. So, Penny excitedly narrated the whole story in detail.

Benson and Leah were distressed to hear the story even though it was now history. They agreed with Penny and felt fortunate that Nathan’s former leader happened to be around.

Cross Corporation was quickly established in the next few days. Penny was nearly ready to start the demolition process of Asiatic Village.

At the same time, Colin updated Nathan with his discovery.

Blacky had gotten into a bar brawl with a few hooligans. His head had taken a few hits by an iron pipe and he was now in a coma at a hospital.

As a result, they were not able to extract any information from Blacky.

Nathan let out a sigh, “It’s fine. I have a rough idea of who’s behind this. I hope they don’t provoke me again - I don’t mind wiping out their whole clan. Also, send some guards to watch over my daughter discreetly.” Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.

Colin nodded his head, “Yes, General.”

Smith family villa.

Sean unleashed his anger on Samuel.

“What’s going on? It’s been days, and we still haven’t heard from those outlaws. Penny has already started a new company and is taking down the village any time now.”

Samuel was at a loss. He had hired the outlaws through Blacky with the commission of a million.

Yet, he received no update until he learned that Blacky had been admitted to a hospital.

Samuel let out a sour smile, “Dad. I didn’t know that Blacky was so unreliable.”

“It’s too late to say that now. Penny is already kick-starting the project.”

“It’s not too late yet.”

“Why? Do you have another idea?” Sean knitted his eyebrows in confusion.

“I’ve heard that Penny took out a second mortgage on her house to get five million as Cross’ startup fund. Asiatic shopping complex could cost her billions. There’s no way she could proceed smoothly. All we have to do is to undermine her with an obstacle and offer to bail her out of it, given that she transfers the project to us.”

Sean was interested, “What kind of obstacle?”

“Asiatic Village belongs to West City. I happen to have a good relationship with their underground boss, Dan Hugh, also known as the Novem Dragon. With a little bit of money, he will cause a scene and halt the demolition.”

Sean was surprised, “You mean the legendary War God of West City? The one who killed nine men with a knife in a fight?”

Samuel grinned, “Exactly. That’s a story from his earlier days. He now operates a whole gang behind the curtains and he doesn’t need to get into fights anymore. He has hundreds of people working under him.”

“Fine. Go talk to him. I don’t care how much it takes, just sabotage Penny’s project.”

“Consider it done!”

That night, Samuel met with Dan in an entertainment club.

Dan was a burly and rough-looking man. He accessorized with a huge gold watch and a thick gold chain around his neck. He left two buttons of his floral shirt undone to expose a tattoo of nine dragons on his chest.

Upon listening to Samuel’s plan, Dan assured him, “Ah. That’s a piece of cake. I can do it for ten million.”

Samuel clenched his eyebrows, “Isn’t that a bit high?”

Dan gave him the side-eye, “Mr. Smith, the village is in West City. It’s my territory, meaning that I’m the only man who can do this job. Moreover, you came to me first. If you walk away without making a deal, you’re wasting my time. That’s a big pet-peeve of mine. I never let people get away with it.”
