Chapter 52
Chapter 52 One Step Closer to the Truth
Before Jasmine could finish speaking, Aylin interrupted her with a cold laugh.
"Considering the company's interests, you're just a secretary. What gives you the right to make decisions? Enough, I don't want to hear it anymore. Go to the human resource department now and complete the necessary procedures."
Before this moment, Jasmine had been holding onto a glimmer of hope, but now, she was truly panicked.
The woman anxiously stepped closer to the desk, "Ms. Koch, I really have the company's best interests in mind! You know the status of the Delacruz Group in New York. Their renewal of the contract with our company would be beneficial for our future development! I truly have good intentions!"
Aylin, with a cold expression, calmly looked at her.
This is the face of a young stranger, adorned with beautiful makeup, truly resembling a professional office worker. However, her abilities fall far short of her stunning appearance.
"The company's development strategy is not up to you to decide!"
Aylin pointed at the office door and spoke without mercy, "Go to the human resource department now, and I can still save you ssome dignity. If you waste any more of my time, I'll report you for making unauthorized decisions that affect the company's interests and have you fired. The choice is yours, you decide!"
Jasmine's heart raced with panic. "Please don't fire me, give me another chance, Ms. Koch. I know I made a mistake!" Tears streamed down Jasmine's face.
"Ms. Koch, I just graduated and rented a place, but I have to pay the rent soon. Without a job, I... I'll be kicked out!"
Jasmine works at the Koch Group as an ordinary secretary. However, her job here is noticeably more relaxed than at other companies, and the compensation is quite generous.
She just rented a loft for more than 450 dollars a month, and she really loves it!
Well, if she really left this place, it's impossible to find a better job than the one at the Koch Group!
Aylin looked at the woman with extreme indifference, showing no signs of softening her heart.
Jasmine gritted her teeth and suddenly knelt down in front of Aylin.
"Ms. Koch, I really need this job! I know I messed up! Please give me another chance, I promise there won't be a next time!"
The woman's face turned from pale to desperate, her lips quivering with a sense of injustice.
For her, Aylin had no sympathy at all, and even felt disgusted.
As a secretary, one should fulfill the responsibilities that come with the role.
Surpassing one's superiors, lying, are big taboos in work!
"Leave before I change my mind!"
Aylin withdrew her gaze, her beautiful face showing a solemn expression. She focused on her work, not saying another word.
Jasmine stared blankly at Aylin, waiting until she was sure that Aylin wouldn't change her mind. Then, in a daze, she got up and walked towards the exit.
Daniel quickly learned about Jasmine's dismissal, and his doubts grew regarding Aylin's reluctance to cooperate with the Delacruz Group.
There were countless companies in New York that wanted to collaborate with the Delacruz Group. He wondered why Aylin would refuse such an opportunity. With this thought in mind, he gently knocked on Aylin's office door.
"Daniel?"
Aylin looked up and gazed at Daniel.
After sitting down, Daniel cleared his throat and asked, "I heard that you didn't agree to cooperate with the Delacruz Group. Is there some kind of misunderstanding?"
Daniel's question was quite straightforward.
Aylin didn't hesitate at all; she just smiled.
"Daniel, as you know, I've just taken over the company, and the previous projects and collaborations need to be reviewed again. For now, there's no need to start any new partnerships. Although the Delacruz Group is one of the top companies in New York, it doesn't mean that all collaborations are suitable. I'd like to wait a bit longer."
Seeing that Aylin was unwilling to speak openly, Daniel didn't press her further.
Young people always have their own unique ideas.
He believed that Aylin was right; any decision he made was well thought out.
"True, I noticed that you let Jasmine go, and now there's no one to help you with the miscellaneous tasks at the company. Actually, that's the reason I came to see you."
Aylin said with a light laugh, "Could it be that Daniel has a better candidate in mind?"
Daniel laughed heartily and said, "I knew I couldn't hide it from you. I've actually trained someone named Hugo, who graduated from Northride University School of Business. You might have a lot of social engagements in the future, and having a male secretary would be perfect to help you ward off excessive drinking."
Aylin was quite surprised, as she hadn't expected Daniel to have even arranged this kind of thing for her.
Recently, she has been so busy with various tasks that she hasn't had the time to find a personal secretary. Now, with Daniel's recommendation, it has really saved her a lot of trouble.
"Daniel's recommendation must be reliable. Let him know to come to work, I won't treat him unfairly."
Daniel nodded and began to report on his recent work.
"Ms. Koch, the company has been pretty much cleaned up now, and those in the board of directors who supported Hanson have stopped causing trouble. The employees under you have been singing your praises. They all say that since you took this position, not only have the benefits at the Koch Group improved, but the work goals have also become much clearer. However, there's one thing..."
Daniel paused for a moment, then continued, "I looked through the resignation records of the past few years and found something strange. There was a person who was doing well in the company three years ago, but suddenly quit. The reason for leaving was quite odd, claiming they won the lottery and wanted to go home to enjoy their fortune."
Winning the lottery?
Aylin was taken aback. Who would believe such a bizarre reason for quitting?
"What's this person's name?"This text is © NôvelDrama/.Org.
