WARMING THE BILLIONAIRE COLD HEART

YOU ARE CUTE

“Kimberly!”

“Kimberly Rayder!”

It’s been more than two times Nicholas has called out and addressed Kimberly’s name while gently knocking on her bedroom door. However, despite all the calls, not a single response could be heard from inside the room.

In reality, Nicholas just wanted to remind her that they had to leave for the airport to depart for England later in the afternoon. He wanted Kimberly to double-check what items she needed to bring before they actually left.

Believing that something was wrong, Nicholas tried turning the door handle, which, as it turned out, was unlocked. He entered slowly and found Kimberly still sound asleep. She had covered her entire body with a blanket up to her neck.

Nicholas stepped forward quietly to where Kimberly was lying. His hand reached out to gently stroke her hair and then pat her shoulder softly.

“Kimmy… wake up,” Nicholas commanded.

Kimberly slowly opened her eyes, blinking several times until her awareness gradually returned. The scent of the white musk perfume Nicholas was wearing was unmistakable and made her unconsciously want to inhale it deeply.

“What are you doing in my room?” Kimberly asked in a husky voice typical of someone who had just woken up.RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only

“I thought something had happened to you. That’s why I came in. But it turns out you were fast asleep,” Nicholas said, shaking his head.

Kimberly tried to get up from her sleeping position, but when she attempted to sit up, her head suddenly started to spin. The world seemed to be spinning, and she inadvertently collapsed back onto the bed.

Seeing this, Nicholas immediately approached and tried to help adjust Kimberly’s sleeping position.

“Why? Are you okay?” Nicholas asked with concern in his tone.

Kimberly took a slow breath. “I don’t know; it feels like the world is spinning. My stomach also hurts now,” she said, using her hand to gently rub her sore abdomen.

“Oh my, is your stomachache acting up again?”

Kimberly nodded. “My stomach is really hurting, and it even feels like cramps now.”

Unable to bear seeing Kimberly in this condition, Nicholas left the room. He headed to the pantry and filled a glass with warm water. He quickly returned to the room and urged her to drink it. He remembered that when she used to have a stomachache or indigestion, Cassandra would always tell him to drink warm water to relieve the pain.

Meanwhile, Kimberly complied, and after drinking the water Nicholas offered, she lay back down and tightened her blanket. The dizziness that had been plaguing her had not completely disappeared.

“If you’re feeling like this, we can cancel the trip to England,” Nicholas exclaimed. He didn’t want to risk Kimberly getting sick if they insisted on going.

Kimberly shook her head softly. “No, I’m sure both of your parents have prepared everything thoroughly. We should still go. I think the pain and discomfort I’m feeling will go away soon,” Kimberly offered. Clearly, she was determined to proceed. She didn’t want to embarrass Nicholas by suddenly canceling their trip to England, especially since she was the reason for it.

“In that case, I’ll have a doctor come and examine you immediately.”

“But-”

“No buts. Choose to be examined by the doctor or I’ll cancel our departure plans for this evening,” Nicholas said firmly.

Kimberly grumbled in frustration at Nicholas’s words. He was quite insistent, and it seemed that his orders were not to be questioned at all. Being aware that Nicholas was the host in the place she was staying, Kimberly reluctantly complied.

While waiting for the doctor to arrive, Nicholas returned to the pantry. He checked the supply of food items in the refrigerator. After careful consideration, he came up with the idea to make chicken soup for Kimberly as breakfast this morning.

Using all the skills he had, Nicholas first placed the diced chicken into boiling water. While waiting, he began preparing and chopping the vegetables one by one and adding them to the pot. After the boiling process was completed, Nicholas began to taste the flavor.

“This isn’t the first time he has cooked. In England, ever since he started college, he got used to living on his own, away from his parents. Choosing to stay in a private apartment, Nicholas got used to taking care of everything by himself. So, when it comes to cooking, it’s not a difficult task for him. How about that? Can he be classified as an ideal husband already?

Just as Nicholas’s soup was ready, the doctor, accompanied by a nurse who would examine Kimberly, arrived at Nicholas’s apartment unit. He immediately led the medical personnel to Kimberly, who was still curled up under the blanket.

“So, how is my fiancée, doctor?” Nicholas asked anxiously after the doctor checked Kimberly’s condition.

Nicholas admitted that he was haunted by anxiety at the moment. Several times, he had seen her in pain, even to the point of fainting. And Kimberly’s phobia couldn’t be underestimated either. The most important fact of all was that Kimberly was an orphan and had no family. That’s why Nicholas was determined to protect and take care of his future fiancée.

“I need to take a blood sample from your fiancée, Sir.”

Unconsciously, Nicholas’s expression became even more anxious upon hearing the doctor’s words. “A blood sample?” he asked to confirm. “For what purpose?” he continued.

“To determine what ailment your fiancée has. I will take her blood sample to the laboratory, and you can expect the results in three to four days.”

Nicholas nodded in agreement. “Do your best, doctor. Whatever it is, please give your best.”

Then, the doctor asked his accompanying nurse to start taking Kimberly’s blood sample. After collecting several vials of blood, the doctor and nurse hurriedly left Nicholas’s apartment unit.

Meanwhile, Kimberly, after the examination, still appeared weak. She chose to sit leaning against the bed’s headboard while gently massaging her sore abdomen.

“Let’s have breakfast first. I’ve prepared food for you,” Nicholas ordered as he brought a bowl of soup that he had placed on a portable tray. Carefully, he placed it on Kimberly’s bed.

Kimberly sighed softly, her face seeming reluctant to eat. Her appetite had disappeared, replaced by the pain that was currently afflicting her body.

“I’m not hungry, Nick,” Kimberly replied without enthusiasm.

Nicholas moved closer to her. Shortly after, he picked up the spoon that was lying on the portable tray. Slowly, he began to scoop the soup from the bowl and brought it close to Kimberly’s mouth.

“You have to eat now and then take your medicine,” Nicholas said, a little forcefully, as he fed Kimberly a spoonful of chicken and vegetable soup. Reluctantly, she accepted it and chewed slowly.

“Smart girl,” praised Nicholas.

Kimberly sighed quietly. “You talk as if I’m a cat that has just been fed.”

Nicholas laughed at the term Kimberly had just used. He thought, how could she make fun of this romantic gesture he considered?

“Why are you laughing?” Kimberly asked in confusion, still chewing her food.

Nicholas shook his head. “No reason. I just find you very cute.”

“You’re strange!” Kimberly retorted.

After finishing the meal that was spoon-fed to her, Nicholas instructed Kimberly to take her medicine and rest again. Meanwhile, he checked what items needed to be packed for later in the evening.
