We Got Love, The Crazy Kind

Chapter 14 The Encounter

Chapter 14 The Encounter

She then heard a woman’s gentle voice saying, “Liam, just leave the luggage in the living room. I’ll sort

it out tomorrow. I have my clothes and pajamas in the bedroom anyway.”

What was happening? Had Liam brought a woman over to stay for the night? Amber retracted her leg

and held her breath. She tried her best to hide in the shadows of the kitchen. How awkward would it be

if Liam were to see her now?

She could only hope that they would quickly retreat to a room so she could hurry back to hers.

The lights in the living room were switched on. Amber peeked through the tiny crack in the kitchen

door.

She saw a fair-skinned woman who was tall and slender. The woman held onto Liam’s arm

affectionately as they made their way into the house. She wore a white, lace dress underneath a

camel-colored coat, revealing her long and lean legs. Although her outfit was simple and not overly

extravagant, Amber could tell at first glance that she was a rich lady.

Amber was still wondering who the lady was when Liam spoke, “Mia, I have already moved your

belongings to the guest room. You can stay here for the night. I’ll send you back home tomorrow.”

Mia? That was Mia Cavendish! That rich lady was Liam’s actual fiancée! Amber’s gaze was fixated on

her as she examined her closely. She certainly looked stunning with her elegance and head-turning

appearance—as expected of someone who could rightfully be deemed as Liam’s fiancée.

When Mia heard Liam’s words, she stopped in her tracks and gave him a hard stare before she said,

“Liam, I didn’t come here after a 13-hour flight just to sleep in the guest room.”

Liam’s back was facing Amber, she couldn’t see his expression clearly but could only hear his low, soft

voice saying, “Mia, I understand how you feel about this. But we are in special circumstances now. On

paper, my current official fiancée is someone else.”

“But she’s just your fiancée on paper—I’m still the one you love, right?” Mia’s tone grew hysterical as

she continued, “You said you let that woman stay here because of the paparazzi. That’s fine, I’m okay

with that! But what do you mean by letting me stay in the guest room? Are you afraid that the woman

would misunderstand? Or is all this act about dealing with the paparazzi an excuse because you have

actually fallen in love with her?”

Amber was still holding her breath when she felt her heart skip a beat after hearing what Mia had said.

In the dark, she subconsciously clutched her hand into a fist.

Liam stayed silent for a while before he spoke, “Mia, you’re not someone who is unreasonable.”

The elegant Mia could not contain her anger anymore and yelled, "Why aren't you answering my

question, Liam? Why won't you tell me that you and that woman are purely in a contractual

relationship? Why won't you tell me you have never taken an interest in her and that I am the only one

you love?"

"Mia, Amber, and I are only in a mutually benefitting contractual relationship. Don't think too much into

it. You must be tired from the long flight. Go take a shower and get some sleep!" Liam was speaking in

a voice so low Amber could hardly pick up what he was saying.

Mia raised her head to meet Liam’s eyes with a sweet and gentle smile on her face. She caressed

Liam’s face and said, “You would never lie to me, Liam. If you say it’s just a contractual relationship,

then that must be the truth. I’m sorry, I won’t get jealous easily anymore…”

Amber thought she heard Liam sigh before he gently drew Mia in for a hug. Amber instantly turned her

head away from the scene. What were they doing? Would she be forced to witness an intimate scene

of theirs?Nôvel(D)rama.Org's content.

Amber tried to direct all her focus onto the vase of Calla lilies on the dining table, but Mia's voice

hammered its way into her ear, "Kiss me, Liam! I took such a long flight just to come to see you and yet

you treat me so coldly…"
