Chapter 29 Name Your Price
Chapter 29 Name Your Price
Amber was angry when she saw him in a good mood. As he walked towards her, she spoke in an
irritated tone, "Liam Croft, please ask the waiter to return my bag. I want to leave."
Seeing her annoyed expression, Liam’s smile reached his eyes as he asked, "What’s the matter? Is the
food not good?"
Amber mimicked Liam’s usual unbothered expression and coldly replied, "I'm full and I'm leaving."
Liam blocked her way with his long legs. With his over 6 feet height, he looked down at her and asked,
" Oh really? I didn’t see you eat much just now."
Amber was a little annoyed. Why was he blocking her path? Was he trying to intimidate her?
"Does what I eat have anything to do with you? You better focus on that wine-sipping ceremony of
yours! Leave my bag alone!" The sentences tumbled out of Amber’s mouth aggressively. She was in a
bad mood and was not the least afraid of offending him.
Liam remained silent but he was not angered at all. He merely continued to stare at Amber as the smile
in his eyes deepened.
Liam wondered to himself: Why did what she said about him focusing on the wine-sipping ceremony
somehow felt like music to his ears?
Amber was originally quite straightforward, but as he continued to stare at her, she inexplicably grew
flustered and lost her confidence. Her face was burning as she looked up at Liam and snapped, "What
are you looking at? Have you never seen a beauty? I’ll start charging fees if you continue staring!"
Liam guffawed at her words. He suddenly bent forward and whispered into her ear, "Just name your
price."
Amber’s ears were burning. Finding herself at a loss for words, she fled the scene as if she was
escaping Liam!
Back in the dining hall, her heart was still pounding like mad as she took her seat. What Liam did just
now was beyond her imagination!
Liam had always been cold and arrogant. Beneath his impeccable demeanor hid prejudice and a deep
sense of superiority.
But this guy whose attitude was as cold as a 10,000-year-old iceberg had just laughed! He even asked
her to “name her price” in such a nonchalant manner!
The contrast was just too big! Amber frowned in distress. She was starting to wonder whether this deal
of hers with Liam had been a little too rash. How had this man started to be so involved in her life?
The atmosphere in the banquet hall was very much relaxed without Liam’s presence.
Susan must have heard some rumors because she started to show a strong interest in Amber.
"I heard that you're a student at South X University?" Susan took her time with her words as she
evaluated Amber from head to toe.
"Yeah," Amber flatly replied. She could instantly feel Susan's arrogance. She thought to herself: What a
joke! Was she not just a less renowned artist? Who did she think she was—to speak to her in such a
superior tone? She wasn’t even a die-hard fan of hers!
With her popularity on the rise, Susan was used to being pampered by people around her. Amber's
indifference got on her nerves.
Her gaze was fixed on Amber's fleece sweater which was a little worn out as she said, "University
students from less fortunate family backgrounds are The Watson Group’s key target when it comes to
providing financial aid! You should take a drink or two with Mr. Croft later—who knows? You’ll easily
land yourself a scholarship!"
These words sounded nice at surface level, but the implications behind them were obviously hostile.
Amber could understand her implication perfectly. Was Susan not just implying that she should find
herself a sugar daddy? The world was messed up.
At that very moment, Amber received a text message. She threw a slight smile at Susan and lowered
her head to read the text. Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
Susan didn't expect a poor student to just daringly ignore her presence. Furious, she laughed coldly
and turned to her director, Mr. Neil. "Female students sure are getting ruder and ruder these days! I'm
not sure who hired them. What a shame!"
John, the manager, did not expect Amber’s lack of respect towards Susan. He started to sweat as Mr.
Neil’s chastizing gaze bore into him. Just as he was worried about how he should explain this later, he
spotted Liam entering the hall and hurriedly changed the topic. He smiled at Susan and said, "My lady!
Mr. Croft is back. Why don't you hurry and claim your victory?
