Chapter 6 She's A Joke
Chapter 6 She's A Joke
JUO Club, A-box.
Isobel looked at Kit, who kept persuading her to drink in front of her, and finally couldn't hold back. She
put the glass down on the table, "Mr. Stewart, I really can't drink anymore."
Her eyes were cold and her voice was also cold. As soon as she spoke, the others inside the box were
quiet for a moment.
"All right, it's okay if you can't drink anymore. Then it seems that I can't negotiate with your company for
this project either."
As soon as he said this, the atmosphere in the box became cold again.
Isobel's boss even personally carried the wine to her, "Isobel, don't make a scene. I know you are quite
a drinker."
Isobel looked at her boss in front of her and suddenly had the urge to throw the wine in his face.
But she held back in the end. She pushed him away and stood up straight away, "I'm going to the
bathroom."
After saying that, she stumbled and walked out.
Once he saw her leave, Kit also cooled down, "I see that your company is really not very sincere. Let's
stop here for tonight!"
With that, Kit got up and left too.
Some people wanted to stop him but did not dare. Isobel's colleagues could only watch him go.
Isobel was indeed a bit drunk. She bumped into someone right after she left the box.
When she looked up, she saw that the person she bumped into looked like Hamish.
She pushed him away, looked down, and said "Sorry." She was about to leave when Kit caught up with
her, "Miss Lewis, didn't you go to the bathroom?"
As soon as he finished, Isobel was caught by Kit.
Kit yanked Isobel to his heels. Only then did he realize that the man standing next to him was Hamish.
He was startled and subconsciously tried to let go. Martha's voice came in, "What a coincidence! We
ran into Miss Lewis again? If I don't know, I'd think Miss Lewis did it on purpose!"
Hearing Martha's voice, Isobel sobered up a lot. She looked up at Hamish, who was in front of her, and
tried to break Kit's grip, but he was tugging at her. She struggled but found that she could not break
free.
Isobel also annoyed, "I told you to let me go!"
"You've even gotten grumpy when you're drunk? Stop it, I'll take you home!"
"Fuck off!" She was red-eyed. She didn't know where she got the strength to really push Kit away with
one hand.
Kit was caught off guard and hit his waist on the railing, causing him to lose his temper. He yanked
Isobel over, "How dare you, Isobel?"
He raised his hand and slapped Isobel. His slap landed on Isobel's right cheek, and Isobel felt her head
spin.
"Kit, how can you slap her?"
Martha laughed as she spoke sardonically. And the man beside her, from the beginning to the end, did
not even frown.
Hamish even felt a little bored. He glanced down at Martha meaningfully, "You're a little bored."
After saying that, he turned around and left.
Isobel felt a surge of anger mixed with the smell of alcohol coming up. She couldn't stop it and yelled,
covering her face, "Hamish!" ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .
The man stopped and looked back at her. His face was cold, "What?"
Isobel was stunned for a moment, and the words "help me" stuck in her throat. Her eyes blinked and
hot tears streamed down her face, "Help me, can you?"
Kit was not going to let her off the hook tonight. Not to mention all their old grudges, her pushing him
tonight was enough for Kit to give her a hard time.
These people at the top liked to keep them down and watch them obey.
"No."
He said coldly, and Isobel suddenly laughed, "I know."
Martha was right. She was a joke from start to finish!
