What a crazy woman!

The two were really a match made in heaven.

Since Nadine refused to go, Josephine became frustrated and tossed and turned in bed for a while before eventually giving in. She changed her clothes and went out.

Inside the ward, Zayn was leaning against the bed frame as he scrolled on his phone.

The moment he saw Josephine come in, he immediately waved the phone in his hands and said, "The Internet is calling me a cheater, and the stock price of Forbes Group is about to hit rock bottom. Are you happy now?"

Josephine was not the least bit concerned about it. "You're the one who asked for it, so what's it got to do with me? Besides, you've transferred most of the funds anyway.

"Does the performance of Forbes Group's stocks still have anything to do with you?

She walked over to the bed and placed the food on the table.

Seeing that the food the delivery man had brought was still there, she opened up the bags to take a look. Right away, she frowned and said, "The food from this place is good, and you're still being picky?"

"I don't feel like having what's in there."

Zayn immediately took the bag of food she brought and put it on his blanket. He chomped down on his food right after taking it out.

He did look like someone who had been starved.

Josephine could only sit by the bed and watch him eat.

Halfway through the meal, he winked at her and said, "Pass me the milk."

Josephine shot him a quick stare before slowly unscrewing the cap of the milk bottle and passing it to him. But he did not take it. Instead, he leaned his head toward her, hinting at her to feed him.

Seeing that he had one arm broken and was holding a sandwich in the other, she could only relent and feed him the milk.

However, when he had his head tilted backward, she deliberately placed the bottle higher, causing the milk to spill all over his mouth. He choked, leading the milk to splatter all over the bed.

"Josephine! You did that on purpose!"

She tried not to laugh. Feigning innocence, she said, "Why would I do that on purpose?"

As she spoke, she casually took a few napkins and wiped his mouth half- heartedly before moving on to the blanket that was covering him.

Zayn just gave her a death stare the entire time. After a while, he sighed in resignation.

"Fine, just torture me all you want. I'll accept it all with open arms.

"What do I have to blame but my love for you?"

Josephine had been in a good mood earlier, but hearing these words cast her into a sullen mood right away.

Now whenever she heard him say the word "love", she felt repulsed and even genuinely disgusted.

Zayn seemed to have caught the

shift in her expression as he stopped joking with her as well. With a somber expression, he said, "Just give me three to four months. Once that time is up, I'll kick Nadine out, and we'll live a good life together, okay?"

Josephine snorted coldly. "Why? Half a year of messing around with her wasn't enough, so you're going to need an additional three to four months to be fully satisfied?"

Zayn gritted his teeth. "How many times do I have to tell you? I've never touched her.

I've only kissed her once, and you saw that too! The reason I'm still going to need her for another three to four months is that some things take that amount of time to get done. You wouldn't want your husband to be broke, would you?"

Josephine immediately answered, "Sorry, but I don't have a husband. I'm a widow."

"Fine. You're a widow. Just think of me as a dead man, happy?"

Zayn did not argue with her any further. He just went along with whatever she said.

"Even after I've taken so many oaths, you still refuse to believe me. What do you want me to do? Do you want me to be like the guys in the movies and carve my heart out with a knife for you to see?

Josephine was completely unmoved. "But you don't even have a heart. Are you going to carve me some air?"

Nonetheless, with his persistent reassurance about how he and Nadine had never done anything except that one kiss, Josephine could faintly feel her heart wavering.

Could he be telling the truth?

If it was true that there was nothing going on between Nadine and him, and that

the only reason he was hanging on to her was to use her to transfer the funds, would she still want to divorce him?
