When They Beg, I Rise!

Chapter 259

Lemira changed her clothes before heading down to the dorm lobby, where the supervisor was waiting for her.

The supervisor looked at Lemira, "Do you know why I'm here?"

"For the rumor mill on the campus forum, right?"

"Exactly. The program you embedded locked many students' phones. They only have that one phone, and some parents couldn't reach them. They were about to call the police." Lemira remained unfazed, "Unlocking the phones is easy. They just don't want to apologize for the mess they've caused."

It wasn't her fault, after all!

"I get you wanted to address the forum issue, but your methods were a bit extreme. It's caused a significant disruption to the school. So, you'll need to unlock those phones first." "No way!"

Lemira's gaze was indifferent, "Their apology would resolve this. There's no need for me to step in. Besides, I can delete the app but not unlock their phones. That's how the program is set up!" "Lemira, are you really refusing to cooperate with the administration? Think about the consequences!"

The supervisor hadn't expected such a defiance from a freshman. Not only had Lemira clashed with the rich kids from the Business School, but she'd also taken such a drastic step to lock many of their phones! Initially, the administration didn't take the situation seriously, planning to just crack the mini program.

But after spending an entire afternoon trying, even the Computer Science department couldn't crack Lemira's code, let alone unlock the phones.

So, they had no choice but to confront Lemira, who unexpectedly wasn't budging.

Lemira was unperturbed, "I've thought it through. They spread false rumors. An apology isn't too much to ask, is it?"

The supervisor sighed, "Lemira, coming from an orphan background, even though you get admitted to this university as a top scorer, your financial situation shouldn't be super. It's unavoidable that others might become skeptical!" "That's a laugh. Just because someone posts a photo and starts rumors, why can't I retaliate? Because I'm an orphan, I must be poor and materialistic?"

Lemira's patience was wearing thin, and there was no way she'd disable the program.

Either they apologized or tossed their phones! Spreading rumors came with a price!

The supervisor was visibly irked, "Lemira, you're really not going to unlock their phones?" "Absolutely not!"

"Alright, I've said my piece. The school will decide on your case tomorrow. I hope you won't regret it."

"I won't regret it. But if the school's decision smells fishy, I'll get a lawyer. I won't back down."Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.

Lemira stood her ground, knowing the school wanted her to cave, to make a big issue small, with her left holding the bag. Why should she?

Fuming, the supervisor left.

Lemira went back to the dorm, while Janice whispered, "What did the supervisor say?"

"He wanted me to disable the program and unlock the phones, but I refused." Lemira's tone was tinged with frigidity.

Clara, hearing Lemira's response, kicked the table in frustration. She had hoped Lemira would be swayed by the supervisor, but Lemira was unyielding.

Staring at her phone, Clara realized she'd have to apologize to use it again. The thought was more painful than killing herself! Lemira, however, was calm. Having been dead once, she wasn't scared. Why should she apologize for being wronged?

Yet, Lemira couldn't shake off something odd about Susanna being taken away today, but she couldn't put her finger on it.

Given Susanna's family ties, it wouldn't be surprising if the Sinclairs smoothed things over.

Lemira checked her phone for news about Susanna's bullying scandal leading to a student's suicide, - finding most reports scrubbed clean. Clearly, someone was pulling strings behind the scenes.
