Chapter 1316
"I don't have much to say. I just hope you'll stop bothering my wife. Also, I hope you know what you're doing."
Luther looked stern. "What do you mean?"
"Just what I said."
"If that's the case, I'm sorry to disappoint you. If Miss Pearl won't work with me, I can't promise what will happen.
Richard sneered. "I'd like to see what you can do."
Luther slammed his hand on the table and stood up.
The room became tense.
After a pause, Luther relaxed his hand and spoke coolly, "Mister Richard, I don't want any trouble if you can cooperate."
"My wife said we won't."
"Alright. Please show Mister Richard out." He nodded at the man next to him.
Immediately, the man approached and respectfully said, "Mister Richard, please leave."
Richard snorted and left without looking back
Luther watched him go, feeling uneasy. "I think he's more complicated than I thought."
His assistant smiled. "Mister Luther, maybe you're overthinking it. You've checked his background. He's just a company president."
"But did you see how he threatened me today? Does he seem like an ordinary company president?"
Luther's assistant was taken aback and fell silent. "Are you suggesting he might have another identity?"
"I'm not sure yet. But there's more to him than it seems. Get someone to look into it again."
Luther's assistant nodded silently and moved into the shadows.

This time, a maid answered instead of Agnes. "Who are you looking for?"
Esther asked timidly, "Is James here?"
The maid looked cautious. "What do you need him for?"
Esther lowered her gaze and whispered, "I'm worried about his health and wanted to check on him. Can I come in?
"Miss Esther, I understand why you're here. But I'm sorry, Mister James can't see anyone right now."
The maid knew Esther since James had brought her here during their relationship. But James had told the maid not to disclose his current condition to Esther, leaving her unable to help Esther.
