Your Love Is But a Dream (Clara and Wren)

Chapter 22

Chapter 22

"Clara's birthday is coming up. She mentioned before that she really liked an emerald antique bracelet. It's being auctioned tomorrow night at Glenwood Auction House. No matter the price, we need to get it." Wren paused, then added, "Don't let my dad know about this."

Liam was a bit surprised but didn't dare ask any further. However, he brought up another point, asking, "Mr. Zachman, with your engagement to Ms. Jones coming up soon, should we get her a gift as well?"

Wren's expression darkened. "Since when did you become her spokesperson? Stop asking so many questions."

Realizing his mistake, Liam quickly apologized, "Sorry, Mr. Zachman. I spoke out of turn." "Don't let it happen again," Wren said firmly.

"Yes, Mr. Zachman," Liam responded nervously. "Is there anything else?"

Wren was about to say no when something occurred to him. "If you see anything suitable for a woman at the auction tomorrow, just get it for Ivy."

Liam didn't understand why Wren had suddenly changed his mind. Yet, remembering what had happened earlier, he kept his mouth shut and quickly agreed.

After the call ended, Wren opened Clara's chat. Her messages were still the ones from two days ago. After hesitating for a moment, he sent two more messages with a stern face.

"Clara, it's one thing to be upset, but it's another to make everyone worry because of your immaturity," his first message read.

"If you keep this up, no one will tolerate it. If you come back on your own, I'll overlook your recklessness. However, if you keep running away, don't expect to be welcomed back into the Zachman family."noveldrama

The words were harsh.

Wren had never spoken to Clara like this, except when he was truly angry. Normally, she would apologize and give in when he lost his temper. He couldn't believe she would ignore these messages and refuse to come home.

When Clara didn't reply immediately, Wren put his phone aside and went into the bathroom, giving her time to process his words.

After he stepped in, Ivy sneakily entered the room, wearing a white lace nightgown. She glanced at his shadow through the frosted bathroom glass. After muting her phone, she struck a few suggestive poses and quickly snapped some photos.

Once she was done, Ivy walked over to the bed, pulled back the covers and lay down. She adjusted her already revealing nightgown, making it even more disheveled, and took a couple more photos.

Satisfied with the shots, Ivy hurriedly opened Clara's chat and sent the photos.

Ivy looked at the photos she had taken and smiled with satisfaction. Fearing Wren would come out soon, she quickly opened Clara's chat and sent the photos.

After waiting nearly two minutes, Ivy retracted the message. Then, pretending it was a

mistake, she sent a shy emoji with a message that read, "Clara, please don't mind this. Wren asked to see the photos, and when he grabbed my phone, I accidentally clicked the wrong button."

Then, she added, "I'm in Havenbrook with Wren for a few days. Is there anything you want? We'll bring it back for you."

After sending the messages, Ivy quickly deleted the conversation from her chat.

What Ivy didn't realize was that Clara had already deleted all her social media accounts, even discarding her phone. There was no way Clara would see the messages Ivy sent.

Besides, Ivy never truly believed Clara would give up on Wren. She thought Clara was just playing a game of retreat to advance, which made Ivy even more wary of her.

Suddenly, a voice cut through the silence, "What are you doing in my room?"
