Chapter 132 Helpful Friends
Chapter 132 Helpful Friends
The moment when they met each other’s eyes, the smiles on their face froze, especially Shirley's
expression, like a thunderbolt from the blue, and her pupils were dilated instantly.
Subconsciously, she felt that Bryan followed her here. She took a big step forward and inquired
ferociously, “Bryan, why are you here? Are you following me? You promised that I can take a few days
off. I can’t believe you’re doing the opposite behind my back. Don’t you think you’re going too far?”
Other people at the table stopped laughing and sat straight.
Bryan also sat straight from previous languid posture.
He frowned and replied, “I didn’t...”
“You didn't, then how did it happen? I am here and you come here too. So should we blame that City L
is such a small place?” Besides, City L was a tourist destination of China. There were numerous
resorts like Copper Bay in the city, so why did she come here and he happened to be here too?
She didn’t believe his words at all.
Tristan, who sat opposite, picked up the red wine and took a sip, with a teasing look in his eyes.
Mark and Lucas lowered their head immediately to eat steak, so as to conceal the urge to laugh out
loud.
It was the first time when...
Their big brother was pointed at nose. What an impressed woman!
Bryan’s face turned dark, “Shirley, I’m here on vacation as well as for some business talks. I really
didn’t mean to follow you. How can you believe me?”
“Believe you? I’m not mad to believe you.” Shirley remained steadfast in her belief that her
whereabouts were monitored, which made her feeling terribly bad.
She immediately lost the only little affection for him.
“Honey, let’s go to other places for our vacation. Also, don’t follow me anymore. If you are not feeling
well, hit my job number.” Shirley warned with a cold face. Then she turned around, holding a child in
each hand, and walked in front of them.
Others who were gloating over it realized that things got serious now.
Among them, Rex got up and cried, “Mrs Moore, you have misunderstood Bryan.”
Shirley paused, and looked back at Rex.
Rex took off the black peaked cap on his head, with a polite smile on his charming face. He went on to
introduce himself, “Nice to meet you, Mrs Moore. I’m Rex Grant. I’m an actor, singer and dancer. And
you know, sometimes I get some commercial endorsements or shoot magazines. It happens today I’m
doing endorsement here for advertising Copper Bay, so I called Bryan here for my endorsement and I
also told some good friends to come, as you can see. It’s a nice time for us to have fun together
because the National Day is just in about one or two days and we all are usually very busy. So it’s me
that bring them here today. I didn’t know you would come here either. There are a few seats available,
would you like to sit and eat with us?
Rex hurriedly pulled away the chair behind him, stepped away from the position, and pointed to his
seat.
Lucas, who was next to him, also got up immediately, and nodded his head heavily to prove that what
Rex said was true.
Shirley frowned suddenly, and her eyes lingered between Bryan and Rex. She corrected, “My name is
Paisley Thomas, a psychotherapist. You can call me Doctor Thomas or just call me by name. I’m Mr
Moore’s wife, so please don’t call me like that.”
Rex smiled awkwardly, “Sure. It’s just that you look so much like Mrs Moore that I fail to hold my
tongue.”
Hearing this, Mark almost cried out.
At the moment, Bryan stood on his feet and said, “Believe it or not, I didn’t follow you here. If you don't
want to see me here, I can leave immediately.”
Shirley moved her sight on Bryan and saw a hint of grievance on his face. It seemed that she really
misunderstood him?
She clenched the hands of the two kids, and said, “There is no need. It’s your freedom to be
anywhere.”
It just made Shirley feel it was their fate…..but how weird it was. She tried to find a place in City L
where there was no Bryan, but they just met.
“Would you like to sit and eat with us? Mark and the others ordered children’s meals for themselves.
I’m sure they would be glad to offer their meals to the lovely kids. They can order something else for
themselves.” Bryan looked down at Emma and Jacob.
Jacob looked up at Shirley, while Emma stared at the children’s meal before Mark.
The food on that plate was pretty rich.
There were fruit salad, vegetable bread, sauces and soup, each of which looked delicate and fresh.
It was very appetizing at first sight.
A noise could be heard from Emma’s stomach.
She immediately covered her belly with her little hands.
Jacob poked Shirley with his fingers, “Mommy, Emma’s belly is grunting.”
“It’s saying it wants something to eat. Mommy, when can we have our meals?” instead of crying to join
Bryan, Emma asked in a pathetic tone.
But before Shirley could answer, Mark got up and said, “It definitely would take ages to have your meal
served if you make your order now. There are so many people waiting for their meals. Hello, little
sweetie, come and sit here.”
With fingers in mouth, Emma looked at Shirley for an answer.
Shirley touched Emma’s head gently. Mark and Rex’s hospitality eased her prejudices against Bryan.
She replied in a softened voice, “Thank you very much. But I’ve ordered the food online, and it’s ready
to be served at the table.”
As she said it, she shot a glance at Bryan again, and then took the two little guys to the booth next to
them.
The waiter immediately arranged the food to be served up after checking her online order.
Bryan glanced down at the children’s meal in front of Mark.
He felt so sad when he just saw the expression of his daughter staring at the children’s meals. So he
took away Mark’s meal and walked to Shirley.
Shirley glanced at the figure next to her. She was about to look up when a plate with abundant food
was placed before her.
She was startled, raising her head at Bryan.
“What are you doing?”
“It’s for Emma.”
“No, thank you. I’ve already ordered a meal. It's too much and it’s a waste of food. Please take it back.” Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
“Can’t you hear that children are very hungry now? How long would you like to hang on like that?”
Bryan blamed angrily. He felt sorry to see his daughter being hungry without food to eat.
Shirley got irritated with his reproach. As she right intended to counter back, the waiter suddenly came
to her, “I’m so sorry, lady. The children meals you ordered have been sold out. Would you like to order
other set menu? But it’ll take more than ten minutes for the meal to be served considering there are so
many customers today.”
Shirley froze and then she moved her sight back on the children meal in front of her, with a terrible look
on her face.
She was not an unreasonable woman. However, she felt everything was not right today, so she couldn’t
help arguing about it with the waiter, “I ordered the exclusive set and the Copper Bay promised to meet
customer’s needs. Forget about it, I’ll order another one.”
“I give you this one and you take it on your bill of the exclusive set.” Bryan stopped the waiter offering
menu to Shirley, and said in a deep voice.
