Chapter 386 Chloe's Cousin
After Michael's hand had sufficiently recovered, he returned to Paramount Airlines. Ethan stood anxiously at his office door as he finished his meeting. "Is something wrong?"
"Mr. Shawn, one of the interviewees today insists on seeing you."
Michael took a moment to recall that there were several interns scheduled for interviews today.
"Why does she need to see me?"
He wasn't the interviewer for the interns.
"She claims... she's your cousin."
Michael's expression darkened. "I have no cousin. Instruct everyone to follow the normal procedures. Anyone found using back channels will be dismissed immediately if I find out." Ethan trembled visibly, barely daring to breathe.
"I knew she wasn't a relative," he thought. "She was bossing me around earlier!"
Meanwhile, Maya believed she could meet Michael herself. She even strutted confidently in front of other interns, boasting about her abilities, convinced she would get in.
The interviewer, after making some calls, finally said, "Mr. Shawn is unavailable right now. The interview will proceed as scheduled."
Maya looked at them incredulously. "Are you kidding me? How can Mr. Shawn not see me?"
"If you have any doubts, you can contact Mr. Shawn directly."
With that statement, Maya's disgruntlement and suspicion were silenced.
If she really had Michael's contact information, would she still be here for an interview?
"Fine, let's proceed with the interview then."
Maya resumed her arrogant demeanor.
She felt that even if it was a regular interview, she could secure a position at Paramount Airlines.
The other girls looked at her with disdain.
She hadn't even entered the company yet, and she was already trying to use connections. How shameless.
There were only two positions available this time, but over thirty people showed up for interviews.
Maya was the first one to be interviewed.
After she finished and saw the long line waiting, her confidence wavered.
She hurriedly called Madeline.
Meanwhile, Chloe was handling paperwork when she received a call from an unknown number.
"Chloe, it's Madeline. Maya is interviewing at Paramount Airlines today. Remember I mentioned this to you?"
Chloe glanced at the number, considering blocking it after hanging up.
"And then?"
"Oh my, it's quite competitive at Paramount Airlines. There are over thirty applicants for two positions. Can you let your husband know?"
Chloe couldn't help but smile. She understood Madeline was trying to get her to use connections.
She knew if she refused now, Madeline wouldn't give up and might even disturb her mother. "Okay, I got it."
Chloe agreed without hesitation and smoothly ended the call.
"Who was it?"
Candy asked, curious from the side.
"Madeline."
Candy said with disgust, "Madeline? The one who's been exploiting your family since you were kids? She must want something." Chloe nodded thoughtfully. "Yes, she wants me to help her daughter get into Paramount Airlines through connections."
"And you agreed?"
"Did I? I just said I got it."
Chloe smirked cunningly.
She only acknowledged she understood, not that she would act on it.
Meanwhile, Maya anxiously waited for the interview results, with ten more people left to interview.
Sitting outside with the other candidates, she felt suffocated.
Deciding to take a walk and get familiar with the workplace, she entered the elevator and randomly pressed the highest floor.
At that moment, Michael was reprimanding a department head for not completing a project on time.
His sharp features reflected in the glass, making him look striking even when angry.
Maya stood outside, watching until the department head came out, then seized the opportunity to wave inside. "Michael!"
Her voice wasn't quiet.
Nearly everyone on this floor heard it.
Michael looked puzzled, and Maya took the chance to walk into his office.
"I'm Maya, Chloe's cousin!"Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDrâ/ma.O(r)g!
