Chapter 93
After getting locked I realized one thing that Alpha Rambo was a bastard.
I snarled at the empty cell that I was locked in. It seemed like a dungeon, filled with darkness, and cold damp air clung to me. Small beams of light were also coming from the lamps somewhere.
I was frustrated, and that was an understatement,
Alpha Rambo was going to regret this. He locked me in a cell on the basis of a false accusation and for what?
For a son, he doesn't even care.
Ryan was there and he didn't even speak a word for me. Frustration was bubbling up in blood, I wanted to scream, or break something.
Most probably Alpha Rambo's neck.
Chains rattled every time I moved, clamped tightly around my wrists. I paced the small space, my muscles coiled tight with anger.
The deafening silence of the cell was broken by the hushed murmurs, and I noticed that a set of warriors were coming my way.
They stood outside my cell and started guarding it.
I found this odd, and somehow it felt that there was some weight in Ryan's words.
Alpha Rambo was indeed scared of what I was.
He was scared of my power.
And I needed to tell everyone that he was a traitor.
Traitor to our kind and for that I need to get out of this damn cell.
But I had to get through to these guards before it was too late.
Taking a breath, I approached the bars, my hands gripping the cold metal.” Hey! Listen." I shouted and my voice rang in the empty dungeon.
"Keep your mouth shut girl or else we will do that for you," The warrior shouted in return, angling his weapon at me.
But I was no regular prisoner.
"Everything is not what it seems. Currently, I am looking like a bad guy but trust me, I am not one." I said.
A loud chuckle filled the room, "Trust you?" a soldier said as he banged his weapon at my cell.
"You have no idea what Alpha Rambo is planning," I said, my voice low but urgent. "He's not just a threat to me-he's a threat to all of us, to the entire community."
One of the warriors glanced over, frowning. "You expect us to believe that? He's our Alpha."
"Exactly," I replied, my heart pounding. "And you've all been loyal to him, I get that. But you know something isn't right, don't you? But he isn't loyal to any of you. It's about power. His only priority. And if you don't stop him now, we'll all pay the price."
They exchanged glances, and I could see the doubt creeping into their eyes. For a moment, I thought I had them.
"You're wrong," one of them muttered, though he didn't sound as certain as before. "Alpha Rambo wouldn't betray us and neither will we."
"I'm not asking you to betray him," I said, stepping closer. "I'm asking you to see the truth. Look around. Why do you think he's keeping me here? Why is he not on the frontline fighting the Rogues, instead he has locked me in here and I am pretty sure he is around here somewhere. It's not about community, it's about power. Whether you guys stay on his side or against."
The silence that followed was thick with tension. Some of them shifted uneasily, doubt now flickering in their expressions. But it wasn't enough.
Before I could press further, heavy footsteps echoed down the hall, sending a cold chill through me. Alpha Rambo appeared, his presence overwhelming as he stepped into the dim light, his eyes gleaming with something dark and unreadable.
"Trying to turn my wolves against me. Quite a charmer," Alpha Rambo drawled as he looked at me.
I glared at him, refusing to show fear. "They deserve to know the truth."
He stepped closer, eyes narrowing. "The truth is, I have plans for you, and none
of them involve your freedom."
He gestured to one guard to open the doors of the cell and with a wicked smile he entered the cell.
Without warning, he grabbed met
arm, pulling me close as a sharp, metallic device clicked into his hand. Pain shot through me as he drew blood, the crimson liquid spilling into a vial.
"This is what you're good for now," he said, voice dripping with satisfaction. "The witch will find your blood... useful."
I gritted my teeth, fighting the rising nausea. "Is that what you've become? A puppet for the witch?"
Alpha Rambo smirked, pocketing the vial. "You've always misunderstood me, Ella. This isn't about power. This is about survival. The Alpha High Council's authority is outdated, weak. I'm the future."
"I never intended to undermine the Council," I spat, my vision swimming.
"But you have." he said, his smile vanishing. "Your blood will serve a far greater purpose than you ever could. You might be weak or people beside you, but your blood is going to play a very important role."noveldrama
Alpha Rambo's eyes darkened as he pocketed the vial of my blood, his smirk fading into something far colder. "The Alpha High Council made@ grave mistake in ever letting someone like you rise in power. A
woman, a voice of dissent, it's
laughable. We need strength, not
sentiment."
His words hit me like a physical blow, but it wasn't just an insult. It was the naked
ambition behind his eyes, the thirst for absolute control.
Ryan was right, he intends to kill me.
I tried to step back, but the chains around my wrists clanged against the stone walls, grounding me in the harsh reality of my situation. For the first time since being thrown in this cell, I felt fear creeping in.
"You can't lead through fear forever," I managed, my voice hoarse. "People will rise against you. You know they will come for me."
Alpha Rambo laughed, the sound cruel and hollow. "They won't even have the chance. I'm not like those weak fools on the Council, listening to every complaint, coddling voices like yours. I'll show them what real leadership looks like."
I backed away, my body trembling as the air in the room seemed to thicken. had to get out of here, had to warn the others. Nathan and Tristan would come for me-if could just hold on a little longer. But before I could even think of a plan, Alpha Rambo moved swiftly, pulling a small syringe from his coat.
The liquid inside gleamed a sickly green, and I knew instantly what it was.
Wolfbane.
"No," I gasped, trying to twist away, but I was too weak, too drained. He grabbed me by the throat, holding me still as he brought the syringe closer.
"I can't have your love sick mates coming to rescue you, now can I?" His voice
was low, mocking. "This will sever the bond long enough for me to finish what I started."
The needle pierced my skin, and I felt the burning venom of the wolfbane seeping into my veins. My wolf howled inside me, thrashing against the onslaught, but it was no use. The poison was too strong. I could feel Ava slipping away, sinking into a deep, unnatural sleep.
I collapsed, my body hitting the cold floor with a sickening thud. My vision blurred,
my limbs going numb as the blood loss and poison took their toll.
Alpha Rambo crouched beside me, his voice barely above a whisper. "You should've known better than to challenge me, Ella. The Council is weak, and soon, they'll be nothing but a memory."
My breath was shallow, my heartbeat sluggish. I wanted to scream, to fight back,
but
I couldn't. Everything was slipping away-my wolf, my strength, my consciousness.
The last thing I heard before the darkness swallowed me whole was Alpha Rambo's fading footsteps and the haunting silence of the warriors who had once wavered, now too afraid to defy him.
What do you think?
