Chapter 13 I'll Kill You, Bad Guy
It was Grandma's birthday banquet, and only then did Louis remember that he had to attend as a member of the family.
After sitting for a while, he went upstairs and opened the door to the bedroom. It was pitch black inside.
He raised his hand to turn on the light.
The deep grey bed had a bump in it.
Louis walked over, and Blanche, having eaten and drunk her fill, had already fallen asleep, breathing softly.
Had she really gone a whole day without eating anything? Louis noticed that the upper half of her face that was visible seemed to have slimmed down compared to when she had left in the morning.
Wait a minute, how could a woman as fierce and poisonous as her go hungry? Besides, the brat Eric had come over, and that guy wouldn't have left without seeing her.
Louis gently lifted Blanche's blanket and saw that her pajamas were quite loose. Just by looking, he couldn't tell if her stomach was full or not. He reached out his hand and slowly approached Blanche's stomach.
As soon as his hand touched her, the sleeping person suddenly grabbed his hand wildly and muttered in her sleep.
"Bad guy, how dare you touch me? I'll kill you."
Louis quickly withdrew his hand, but there was a bloody wound on the back of his hand.
Was this woman pretending to be asleep? He couldn't help but compare himself to the bad guy she had just cursed at.
However, Blanche mumbled and went back to sleep, still looking like she was really asleep.
Louis's eyebrows relaxed slightly. It seemed that this woman was just sleep-talking. But in her dream, how could her words sound like she was cursing him?
Although he didn't touch her belly, it looked flat, and Louis's face darkened as he left the room and called a servant.
"Did she eat anything today?"
The servant was afraid of Louis's penetrating stare and quickly lowered her head.
"No, we dare not give her food without your permission, Mr. Herbart."
Louis hesitated for a moment, seeming to judge whether the servant was telling the truth.
In just a few seconds, the servant felt like she was about to collapse. Just as she was about to admit the truth, Louis spoke up.
"Go make some supper and wake her up to eat."
The servant was stunned for a moment before realizing that she had heard correctly. Louis had actually allowed Blanche to eat.
The servant turned and went to the kitchen, her heart beating faster. This was great. Louis hadn't found out, and she had almost told the truth.
"Hold on. If she asks, say that if she were to starve herself, it would tarnish the reputation of the Herbart family," Louis added mercilessly.
After speaking, he turned and went to the study to deal with official business.
Blanche slept soundly, her shoulder lightly pushed, and she opened her eyes in a daze. A servant was standing next to her, and there were a few dishes on the table.
"Clara, what's up?"
"Mrs. Herbart, it's time for supper."
Blanche sat up groggily and touched her still-full stomach. She had eaten a lot for dinner, and she wasn't hungry yet.
Clara looked at the door and spoke softly.
"Mrs. Herbart, please have a little bit to eat. Otherwise, if Mr. Herbart finds out that you've secretly had dinner, we'll all suffer the consequences," pleaded the servant with concern.
Looking at the exquisite supper beside her, Blanche was stunned, and she had no appetite.
Wait a minute, she suddenly realized. Wasn't it because she hadn't apologized that she couldn't eat? Could she eat now?
"Did Louis instruct you to prepare this?"
"Yes."
Blanche couldn't figure it out. "Why is he so kind?"
"Mr. Herbart said that the Herbart family has a big business, and if you starve to death, it will damage the reputation of the Herbart family."
Blanche was rendered speechless.
As expected, don't count on this man for anything.
An hour later, the servant came to collect the tableware.
Blanche felt downcast because she had eaten too much. She walked around the room while taking out her phone and searching for a design of a magnolia brooch.
She was going to make a magnolia brooch for her Grandma.
Louis deliberately stayed in the study for a long time, but he didn't expect that when he returned to the bedroom, Blanche was still awake.
She was working on a magnolia brooch design, her ink-black long hair draped over her back, and her pale pink pajamas giving her a youthful look.
Louis came over and saw the purple magnolia brooch design, impressed that this woman could even design.
Blanche was engrossed in her work, and she didn't realize that Louis had come over. Louis' gaze narrowed slightly as he looked at the woman's earlobe, small and tender, tempting like jelly.
Blanche put down her pen and opened a webpage on her phone.
Upon seeing the search history, Louis couldn't help but show a faint smile. All content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
The searches included:
"How long can you live by only drinking water?"
"How long can you survive without food?"
"Will sleeping on a couch every day cause back pain?"
Blanche twisted her neck and suddenly realized that there was someone standing beside her, startling her. She found it was the tall Louis, and immediately closed the webpage. She couldn't let him see what she had searched for before.
"When...when did you arrive?"
