Deadly Affairs

*On Monday*

I woke up very tired and late today. Surprisingly, my alarm didn’t even notify me that it was morning already. I remember setting the alarm last night but it didn’t ring this morning. And it isn’t even broken.

It’s as if someone turned it off on purpose. It felt really wuerd but I didn’treally put much thoughts on it. I might have turned it off by mistake last night. I quickly took off my clothes and was about to take a shower when something on the mirror caught my eyes.

“What the hell.” I muttered when I noticed that there were hickeys all over my body, especially my neck and chest area. How the hell did they get there?

“It must be some wierd reaction to something I took yesterday.” I said , trying to convince myself because there is no way someonewould have done this to me.

I didn’t put much thought to it and decided to take my bath since I was already getting late. I quickly took my bath and put on my formal wears. After that, I applied some concealer around my neck so as to hide the hickeys.

Then I went into Molly’s room only to see her still asleep. Wierd. I woke her up. She yawned and rubbed her sleepy eyes.

“What time is it?” Can’t I sleep more?” She asked.

“No because you are late for school.” Her sleepy eyes snapped open the moment I said that.

“I’m late? But I asked nanny Abigail to wake me up.” She said as she stood up from her bed quickly and went into her bathroom.

Now that I noticed, I haven’t seen her since morning. I left Molly’s room and went to hers. All content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

“Abigail.” I called as I knocked on her door but she didn’t answer.

“Abigail.” I called again and turned the door knob only to realised that it was locked from inside.

“Maybe she’s still sleeping.” I thought and was about to leave when I heard murmuring and shuffling inside the room. It was as if two people were conversing.

It wasn’t really loud so I decided to listen closely. I  pressed my ears on the door and heard sound of the window open and I heard footsteps but surprisingly, they weren’t heading towards the door but somewhere else.

“Is someone in there with her?” I wondered and leaned closer to listen clearly when the door was suddenly opened from the inside.

Due to the fact that I was resting all my weight on the door, I stumbled forward when the door was suddenly flunged open.

“Miss Natasha.” She called in surprise when she saw me standing in front of her door.

“Whst are you doing here?” She asked.

I was finally able to regain my composure. I scratched my neck nervously because she caught me trying to eavesdrop on her.

“I wanted to call you out. Were you sleeping?” I asked back, trying to compose my flustered self.

“Yes. I just woke up.” She said as she faked a yawn.

I could tell that she was lying. She looked very much awake to me and she wasn’t putting on her night dress but I decided not to argue with her.

“Is there someone in there with you?” I asked as I tried to peep into her room from the open space but couldn’t find anything.

“What?? No!! Why would you ask that??” She asked as she stared at me anxiously. What is wrong with her?

“I thought I heard someone else talking in your room.” I answered.

“It must be from the movie I was watching on my phone.” She said.

“You were watching a movie? I thought you said that you just woke up from sleep?” I asked, giving her a suspicious look.

“Oh.. did I?” She asked as she released a nervous laugh.

“Yes you did.” I answered.

“Oh.. I remember. I was watching a movie on my phone last night before I slept off. I must have been sleep talking. Maybe that’s what you heard.” She said.

“Okay. I just wanted you to come prepare Molly for school. We are late already.” I reminded.

“Alright. I’ll go now.” She said and left for Molly’s room after daunting her door behind her.

I could tell that she was hiding something but I couldn’t tell what it was. I had the urge to enter her room and find out about what I had heard but I figured that it would be invasion of her privacy if did that so I left.

I was about to enter Molly’s room when I heard her talking to Abigail. The question she asked had been bothering me so I decided to eavesdrop on their conversation.

“Why are you dressed like that?” She asked.

“What do you mean? What’s wrong with what I’m putting on?” Abigail asked back as he looked down to check her outfit.

“Nothing is wrong with it. You just look like you are going out. Are you?” Molly asked.  I thought I was the only one that noticed it.

I was about to hear Abigail’s answer when the door bell ranged. I left my position immediately so they wouldn’t catch me eavesdropping on them.

I decided to go check who it was. I opened the door only to find a delivery man.

“I have some flowers for one Ms. Natasha.” He said after we had exchanged greetings.

“I am Natasha. But I didn’t order these flowers.” I said as I stared at the vase filled with fresh roses.

“I know. Someone asked me to give them to you.” He answered.

I collected the flowers from him and bid him bye before entering the house back.

“Who was that?” Abigail asked when she saw me.

“A delivery man. He left these for me.” I said as I stared at the flowers.

“I can’t believe that you already have an admirer.” She said with a small smile before heading into the kitchen.

Admirer?? I searched around the vase to see if I could find a note that would help me trace the sender but I couldn’t find any. Who could it be from??

Wait.. is it?? Could it be?? My heart thumped against my chest when the thought crossed my mind. I shook my head to shake away the bad thoughts.

“Don’t think like that Natasha. It can’t be him. It won’t be him.” I told myself in a convincing manner.

But who else except him would know that I roses are my favorite. What if it actually is him? Does that mean that he found me?? Fear gripped me and I ran towards the windows.

I peeped out to see if there was anyone suspicious outside but I couldn’t find anyone. Suddenly, my phone rang, startling me. I picked up the phone only to see an unknown number.

Who could it be? I mustered all the strength I could to pick up the call. Then I placed it on my ear.

“Hello.” I said shakily.

I was praying within me that it won’t be the person that I am thinking it is.

“Hello Natasha. Did you get my flowers?” ***********************************
