Seline was stunned. Then, she lowered her head and said in a miserable tone, "I don't have any medical knowledge. If I did, I'd surely save his life. As the saying goes, God is always trying to save lives."

Hearing that almost made Suzanne laugh. She scoffed at Seline. "You've got such a kind heart."

Naturally, Seline could hear the sarcasm in Suzanne's voice.

Ever since she was young, all sorts of animals had died at her hands. Suzanne knew that, and Seline knew it all the better.

Subconsciously, Seline balled her hands into fists and did her best to hold back the rage within her as she pretended to be weak outwardly.

Cindy had probably exerted herself too much. She went weak and started falling sideways. Fortunately, Julie was close enough to her to hold onto her and prevent her from falling to the floor.

Cindy reached her hand out to Suzanne, then lowered her hand feebly. "Dr. Smith, please."

She looked as if she was about to breathe her last at any moment.

Seline and Cindy shot one another a look, their eyes filled with glee. This was the outcome that they were after. They wanted to make an issue out of this so that Suzanne would save Kendall for the sake of her own reputation.

Nevertheless, no matter how well-thought-out their plot was, it did not work on Suzanne.

Suzanne got to her feet and made an internal call without any hesitation. "Hello, is this security? There are people causing a ruckus over here. Please take them away. If you people can't get this done, I'll call the cops."

Shock flashed across both Seline's and Cindy's faces.

Suzanne actually chose to call security and was ready to call the cops on them? Didn't she care about her reputation at all?

Looking dejected, Seline stared at Suzanne as she said, "Sue, I used to think of you as my role model. But that's no longer the case from now on."

She puffed her chest out. Keeping her eyes on Suzanne, she continued, "You've really disappointed me. I didn't know that this was what you were like."

Meanwhile, Cindy was bawling so much that she was getting light-headed.

It was such a chaotic spectacle.

Initially, Suzanne did not wish to engage with them. However, this bunch of people weren't allowing her to hear the end of it. She leaped to her feet and glared at Seline gloomily.

This woman was obsessed with making her feel revolted.

At this moment, Suzanne carried an immense air of dominance around her. Just one look from her was enough to make one shudder.

Staring frigidly at Cindy, Suzanne said, "I won't save your father's life. I'll only give you the same response no matter how you plead with me."

With the last, remaining bit of patience left within her, she continued in a firm voice, "When get back, find out from that wonderful father of yours about all

his great deeds from the past. Does he even deserve to be alive?"

The stern glint in Suzanne's eyes made Cindy shudder on the inside. Even her

waterworks came to a stop.

Even the others in the office were puzzled about Kendall.

"What did Suzanne mean? Did this woman's father wrong Suzanne in some way?"

"But isn't Suzanne Mr. Yates's daughter? How did she end up becoming involved with someone else's father?"

"This is such a mess. I can't get my head around the relationship between these people."

Seeing that things were unfolding in the wrong direction, Seline decided that she had to turn the sentiments around. The moment she opened her mouth to speak, Suzanne shot her a stern look.

"Are you aware of whose side you're standing on?"

Seline bit her lip. With tears in her eyes, she uttered miserably, "Sue, I'm just trying to be reasonable here This is someone's life we're talking about. You can't just stand back and watch him die!"

She wanted to crush Suzanne under her feet so that everyone would despise her.

She wanted to show everyone what a wicked woman Suzanne was.

Suzanne, however, wasn't fearful of her at all. Fixing her eyes on Seline, she mocked, "You're trying to be reasonable?"

Wasn't Seline ashamed to even say something like that?
