Chapter 2983
"I happened to walk past a florist and saw that these were on discount," Fergus explained. "It's not like these are roses. Just accept them!"
Shelly set the bouquet aside on the counter. "Have you eaten, Fergus? If you haven't, let me treat you to lunch."
Since Fergus had paid for the dinner the night before, Shelly felt that she owed him.
"Will it take you away from work?" Fergus asked.
"No. I need to go for lunch anyway," she said before stepping out of the cafe with him.
The two ran into Hayden on their way out, and Hayden was surprised to see them together. "Have they already started dating?" he thought.
Fergus froze when he saw Hayden as he had not expected to see him here. Shelly, too, was surprised.
Not daring to presume that he had come to see her, she asked, "Hayden, are you here to buy cakes?"
Hayden remained expressionless and said, "I'm here to see you."
Shelly did not have time to ask him why he was looking for her. Taken aback, Fergus exclaimed, "Shelly, you know my boss?"
Hayden wore a proud expression. "And who are you?"
Fergus immediately lowered his head respectfully and introduced himself. "Hello, Mr. Tate. I am Fergus, an employee of your company's Administration

Department. I didn't expect to meet you here. It's truly an honor."
Shelly did not expect to find herself in this awkward situation and wished she could disappear into the ground. "Um... Fergus and I were planning to have lunch. If you don't mind, Hayden..." She attempted to invite Hayden to join them and discover why he was there, as she could not just abandon Fergus when she had already made plans with him.
"Where are you planning to eat?" Hayden pondered Shelly's words.
Shelly replied, "I'm not sure yet! Do you have any good suggestions? Preferably not too expensive but also not too awful."Content held by NôvelDrama.Org.
Hayden remained silent.
Fergus chuckled awkwardly. "How about going to the same place we went last night?"
Shelly nodded. "Oh, that works."
So the three of them walked to the restaurant they had been to the previous night. Fergus and Hayden sat on one side, while Shelly sat on the other. Fergus respectfully handed the menu to Hayden, who did not bother looking at it and passed it to Shelly instead.
Fergus sensed something was
amiss and spoke up: "Mr. Tate, are you friends with Shelly? It's truly her good fortune to know you. It is also my great pleasure and fortune to be working at Dream Maker. If IS convince Shelly to date me, will you honor us with your presence at our wedding?"
It was no fault of Fergus that he said spoke with such little consideration.
Shelly had mentioned that she had a child the night before, so Fergus believed that there was no chance for Shelly and Hayden to develop a romantic relationship.
