His Innocent Sera

Another Day

His smoldering gaze devoured her delicate curves with unrestrained hunger. The need to feel them with his mouth and fingers burned fiercely in his groin, tormenting him relentlessly. Desperate for even a fragment of relief, his hand moved up and down his shaft in fervent attempts. No girl had ever stirred even a flicker of desire in him, no girl had ever commanded his attention the way she did. His desire for her was growing with every breath he took. It was a fucking torture and he hated her for that. His glare so icy, it could break the screen.

She stirred, a soft sigh escaping her mouth, before she tossed the cover aside, making his throat parch, his eyes darkening with unrelenting lust. Her top had ridden up, exposing the tempting curve of her waist, her tiny shorts had inched higher, flaunting her shapely legs. His jaw clenched hard. Fuck! she was going to kill him. He sped up, stroking himself and imagining her legs wrapped around his hips, making her moan and weep. He imagined trailing his mouth along the curve of her waist. He imagined teasing her navel with his tongue. He imagined claiming her as his woman....

"Fuck!" he breathed, his body pulled taut as ribbons of release splattered across the screen, painting her image in his hue.

Breathing heavily, his eyes half-lidded, he gazed at her sleeping form. She was sound asleep, oblivious to the storm she had excited inside him. The nerve.

"I'll be working late at the old age home today. If it's not too much trouble, could you pick me up?" she asked her dad, her fingers fidgeting nervously in her lap. She always felt nervous asking him for favors, as if she were imposing.

"You can take the bus," her dad replied.

"They might release me after 11," she explained, hopeful he would understand. She didn't want to trouble him but the bus stops were not very safe after 10.

Annoyance flickered through his dad's features for a brief moment before he uttered in a dry tone, "I'll be there."

"Thank you, Dad," she chirped, smiling brightly. Slinging the bag over her shoulder, she left for work.

"

'.......Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world," she read from the bible to her elderly friends who were listening intently.

She looked up with a gentle smile on her face and continued, "to serve humanity and ensure everyone's well-being is human's true religion. Mere reciting prayers and visitng church doesn't make a person religious, it's the purity of one's heart and kindness in their actions that truly endear them to father in heaven."

"But is it fair to show kindness to people who constantly hurt others? Shouldn't cruelty be met with the same cruelty?" asked a masculine voice. She frowned, her eyes swept through the group to find the face who had rasied the question.

She found him sitting in the back. It was the same guy who had bumped into her yesterday. Who was he? Must be a new volunteer. He looked genuinly curious so she decided to answer.

"Responding to cruelty with more cruelty will only continue the cycle. The world will grow harsher, more insufferable. In that case, kindness is the only answer. And by kindness I don't mean blind submission. We shouldn't lose our virtues for someone else's lacking. Those who thrive in other's sufferings will have to face God one day. Lord above is watching everyone and their Karma is being decided. No one is above it," she opined firmly.noveldrama

"You make so much sense," Giovanni praised, smiling in approval. His eyes deepened with a newfound interest. She broke their eye contact and started reciting another verse for her readers.

It was already 11.30 and her dad hadn't showed up yet. With a sigh, she called him. She just hoped he wouldn't ignore the call as he didn't have her number. She had no idea what would she tell him if he asked her where she got this phone from. But that was a problem for later.

"Hello, dad. I am Seraphina. Where are you? I am waiting outside the oldage," Sera spoke into the phone, holding it with both her hands.

"Umm..I am home. I Forgot to pick you up..." he said, causing the familiar pang of hurt to spear through her fragile heart.

"Do one thing. Take the bus and come home," he suggested indifferently. She ignored the twinge and opened her mouth to answer.

"It's okay. I understand. I'll take the....." the line went dead. She removed the

phone and looked, he had disconnected the call. She blinked away the tears and stared forward. The road ahead stretched out, eerily silent and empty. She swallowed. She had no choice but to walk it.

Hugging herself and dipping her chin to her chest, she started walking.

"You shouldn't walk alone at this hour..." a familiar voice echoed, making her freeze. She turned slowly to find Giovanni grinning at her through his car window.

"Let me drop you home. The neighborhood isn't very friendly here," he offered.

She shook her head, "No, thanks. I'll manage." After saying that, she started walking again. He paced his car to hers.

"Don't worry. I won't take advantage of your situation" he assured, a teasing smile playing over his lips.

"I know Karate," she replied in a murmur but he heard it. The only thing she knew about Karate was its spelling but he didn't need to know that.

He let out a deep chuckle. She frowned, not able to understand what was so funny about it.

"Thanks for the warning. Come on, let me drop you to the bust stop atleast," he insisted.

She opened her mouth to refuse when suddenly a black sleek car swooped into her vision. It smoothed to a halt behind Giovanni's car.

Just then her phone rang. It was Nathan. She picked it up.

"Hello," she spoke timidly.

"Get in the car," he instructed in his deep, commanding voice. Even through phone, he was capable of ming her heart gallop with anxiety. She cast a suspicious glance at the car before obeying without a word. Giovanni smirked before racing off his car.

A man climbed out of the car and opened the door for her. She got inside.

"Who was in the car?" Nathan asked as soon as she settled into the backseat.
