Chapter Seventeen
“I don’t know, should I find that out?”Her assistant asked.
“No. If she’s important, we’ll see her again.” ‘She’ finalized.
“OK, ma’am.” Her PA said and they left.
¶°Anderson°¶
I sat quietly in my house waiting for the ‘Alexa’ of a girl to arrive.
“How’ll I host her when she arrives here?”
It’s been a long since I invited and hosted anyone, talk more of a girl.
“Wait! I’m Anderson, I’m a Green. Why should I be worried about hosting a girl that’s going to become my maid?” I chastised myself.
“I’m going to be paying her a large amount of money when she starts working, so why bother anyway?” I rolled my eyes at ‘myself’.
‘Well, she wouldn’t be on her way here if you didn’t offer her a maid job.’ Something tugged at the back of my mind.
“Well, well, well, if it isn’t you!” I replied.
‘Who? Me?’ ‘it’ asked stupidly.
“No… The devil behind you.” I said sarcastically.
‘I’m clean, so I’m not afraid of any devil.’
“Whatever.” I huffed and cleared my thoughts off my conscience.
My mind drifted to the company I had to hand over to my sister the other day.
Pain and anger clouded my mind as I thought about how much I invested in that clothing line that had ended up in someone else’s achievement records.
Everything I invested…
The four good years I invested to make sure the clothing line was among the top five.
People, top renowned fashion critics commended my skill and how I was able to make the clothing line stand in a matter of some months, and for the rest of three years, I succeeded in keeping it in its position.
Yet, my dad couldn’t see all these, all it took for April was to open her mouth and he gave it all to April in a mere whim.
I’ll never forget that I promise!
Just then, the doorbell rang, and it joggled Anderson’s mind.
“Who could that be?” Anderson asked as he stood up from his bed.
“Why would a person choose the time when I was thinking about all the unfairness I faced these few days that passed to show up at my house and ring up my bell?” Anderson growled silently in anger and what also seemed like frustration as he walked towards the door in fast, long strides.
“Yes!” Anderson growled at the person standing outside while his hand was still on the doorknob trying to open up the door.
“What do you want you fuc…” Anderson couldn’t complete his words as his gaze fell on the person standing right in front of him.
“Huh?” The person asked confused.
“Huh??” Anderson asked back as his mind was too joggled to think of anything to say.
“You were saying something. What was the last thing you were going to say?”
“Ughm…” Anderson couldn’t think of words to reply with when he realized that yeah, he was going to say ‘you fucking idiot’ to the person standing in front of his porch without even knowing who it was.
“Yes… Go on Mr… Anderson.” ‘She’ folded her arms just beneath her chest, and that action alone almost drove Anderson mad.
She had unknowingly pushed up her b**bs and that was enough to cause Anderson some unwanted ‘stuff’ he didn’t want at that moment.
“I was going to say ‘you fuchsia (a small bush with pretty flowers) beauty’.” Anderson lied.
Well, not really.
He did find her beautiful by the way.
Alexa looked at him in an unsure way.
She knew he was lying.
Though she had no proof, her wits screamed ‘he’s lying!!!’.
“Are you sure?”
“Of course yes. It’s not like I’d have any reason to say ‘you fucking idiot’ right?” Anderson laughed nervously, his hand at the back of his hair ruffling it vigorously.
Alexa looked at him and just thinned her lip.
So that was the original thing he was going to say to her right?
‘He probably didn’t know it was you.’ Her mind tugged at her and she decided to go with ‘her’ since Anderson did stop talking when he saw her.
“Am I welcome in your house or I should stand here all day while we discuss the reason I came here outside?” She spitted and the sarcastic note she added didn’t fail to go unnoticed.
Anderson’s wits failed for a moment.
He did use sarcasm most of the time, but this lady’s way in a more bitter, experienced way.
However, he wasn’t going to lose to her.
He felt like he competed with her… Some sorta attitude competition which he started mentally the first day he met her.
“Well, if you so wish to! I’ll be inside. In the comfort of ‘my home’ like you called it dimwit!” Anderson replied, just as sarcastic.
Alexa’s blood boiled.
He had dared call her a dimwit!
“Why am I here anyway?” She huffed angrily.
‘You’re here for a job, remember? So calm down!’ Her mind told her.
“Yeah. I remember now. If it wasn’t for Jace I would never have come here!”
“Dimwit, you coming or we should talk a few distances away from each other?” Anderson called from the sofa he was sitting on.
He was inside, But he was loud enough for her to hear him and Alexa growled lowly.
The growling was becoming a bit loud and hard to control, so she just clamped her teeth on one side of her lower lip and pushed through the door.
The door closed automatically behind her and she rested her back on it.
“So I’m here, what do you want?” She heaved and cupped her arms under her chest in a folding manner.
Anderson found it hard to control himself as he growled and Alexa flinched a little.
“Goddammit!” He muttered and walked closer to Alexa.
“Did you come here to seduce me? Cause I’d willingly throw you on my bed.” His eyes were dark now, and Alexa would have moved back if only she hasn’t rested on the door.
Suddenly, she started hating why she chose this position to stand out from all the other positions.
“Wh. What. What do you mean by that?” She asked frightened.
“What do you want with me?” She had heard and read of females being invited over and being raped, but she never thought she’d face it.
Wait!
Why the heck was she afraid?
Anderson was a man of integrity (according to the news and all), he’d never hurt her.
But his eyes were darn now and ed with lust.
Lust?!
Why would he lust over her?
It wasn’t like her makeup or lipstick was flashy enough to turn a man on.
“You’re asking? Like you don’t know you’re standing in front of me with your arms pushing up your b**bs and your teeth clamped on your lower lip like a fvcken b*tch!” Anderson rasped in one long, h*rny line.
“Bitch?” Alexa repeated, in a question-like way and Anderson smiled.
“Yeah, thank Goodness you are finally understanding what I’m saying.”
Alexa slapped him for his rude statement.
“I’m not like those bitches you fvck with so cheap,” Alexa spoke her point loud and clear.
(OK Alexa… What’s up with the slaps? First, it was Jace, and now Anderson? OK! Anderson surely deserved that though!)
Anderson’s lust haze cleared due to the effect of Alexa’s slap and he realized what he did.
But to him, it wasn’t anything.
He flirted his way into the girls he liked beds.
“Did you just slap me?”
“Yeah and I’ll do it over and over again if you don’t stop using inappropriate words with me!” Alexa replied whilst glaring back at him as hard as he was glaring hard at her.
Anderson would have taken the issue far, but he decided to play cool.
He was in the wrong anyway.
“Come have a seat let’s discuss the work I’m going to be employing you for.” He said and acted cool Like something hadn’t gone down in the last 7 – 10 last minutes.
Anderson walked towards the nearest sofa and plopped down on it.
Alexa finally gathering and regaining herself, clutched her purse tightly and walked towards the door.
She had opened it already and was about to leave when she heard something that froze her like ice.
“What about your brother?”
Alexa turned to look at the person those words came out from.
She turned, and there he was… His white shirt was already glued to his body and his fearfully handsome face held an evil smirk on it.
“What did you just say?” Alexa asked in disbelief.
“How’d your little brother feel if you disappointed him?” Anderson asked with a look on his face that said ‘I know e. v. e. r. y. t. h. I. n. g’.
“How the heck do you know I have a little brother?” Alexa asked with confusion, fear, and a crack of sadness going on within her.
“Why the question? Is your brother a secret hidden from the whole world?” Anderson asked with sarcasm.
Alexa rolled her eyes and stomped her left foot on the floor.
“He’s not a secret. I just don’t remember telling you I have a junior brother.”
“I’m Anderson. Not just any Anderson. I’m Anderson Green”
“That doesn’t explain what I asked.”
“Well, if you ain’t a dimwit, you should get it by now.” Anderson started and if you glanced at Alexa, you’d see she was boiling in a hot rage.
But that wasn’t her fear. Her main problem was the fact that the man standing in front of her knew about her brother, and probably other things she was yet to find out.
“Well, as you said, I’m a dimwit.” Alexa gritted.
“So could you kindly explain how you found out about my brother?”
“Well, a background check wasn’t hard to carry out.” Anderson dryly said.
“So, you stalked me? Like you fvcking stalked me?”
“Not that, but you can take it as that.” Anderson shrugged. This text is © NôvelDrama/.Org.
“For heaven’s sake… Why’d you run a background check on me?”
“So I’d know the type of person I’m going to employ.”
“That’s a breach of privacy rights. You can’t just run a check on me whenever you want!”
“Well, what are you going to do? Sue me?” Anderson faked surprise. He was indirectly mocking her.
“Exactly! I’m going to sue you.”
“With what money? The huge stack in your house?” Anderson smirked and suddenly Alexa felt naked.
He also knew she didn’t have money.
Just like her thoughts told her, Jace wasn’t the only thing he found out about.
What else did he know that he was hiding?
