Mission: From Divorcee to Millionaire

Chapter 286

Love?

Everett heard the word like it was some kind of joke, turning around to look down at Selena, her eyes shimmering with tears. His features were sharp and handsome, but his expression was all mockery and indifference. He softly parted his lips, "Selena, how can you still be going on about love? It's ridiculous!"

"In marriages like ours, it's all about the benefits. You're talking love to me? That's hilarious!"

Selena's dark eyes widened in disbelief, as if only now, at this moment, she truly saw the man in front of her for who he really was.

Everett sighed, like he pitied her for being so naive, his hand gently caressing her face, his lips brushing close to her ear. His words might have sounded like a lover's whisper, but they were cold as ice.

"Selena, get this straight: I will never fall in love with you, but... you're my Mrs. Bennett, and you will be for life!"

Selena was beyond furious. He had shattered the love she held dear and robbed her of three years of her youth, yet he still wanted to lock her away in this marriage forever. Who was Jimmy compared to Everett? Everett was the real villain! She shook with anger, her eyes burning red, "Don't you dare! I'll divorce you!"

She had grown up in a family full of love, cherished by her parents and grandmother, and even after they were gone, her uncle and Ricky had loved her dearly. She believed in all the goodness the world had to offer and in finding her own true love. So, she couldn't accept living the rest of her life in a fog, nor could she let her children be born into a loveless home.

Everett's patience snapped, his emotions spiraling out of control. He couldn't stand to hear another word from her that he didn't want to hear!

His hand gripped Selena's neck,

forcing her to look up as he kissed her hard, biting at her lips without a trace of gentleness, even violently, so much that Selena was in pain.

She struggled fiercely, pounding and pushing against his back, but she couldn't move him an inch, only sparking his desire to dominate.

Soon, Selena was pinned down on the bed, her hospital gown a mess, her face twisted in agony.

Everett's kiss, his touch, his

closeness, all made her feel sick to her stomach! Overwhelmed, she gradually stopped struggling, lying there, staring out at the suffocating darkness of the night.

She had never imagined that the boy she fell for at first sight, the husband she once loved so deeply, would become the one who hurt her the most. From NôvelDrama.Org.

BUMS

When Everett's hand reached Selena's abdomen, he hesitated, and sanity slowly crept back in. He let her go and sat up.

Selena curled up, hugging herself tightly.

"Mrs. Bennett, don't fight me, don't make me angry, and we can get along like before."

He spoke each word deliberately, as if granting her a favor.

Selena chuckled at his words, tears spilling from her eyes.

"You don't love me, yet you won't let me go. Everett, don't you think you're being a bit contradictory?"

Her voice was soft and light, as if speaking to him, yet also as if she were talking to herself.

"Let me go, and I'll let you go. Find someone you like, and I can live the life I want. Wouldn't that be better?"
