Reclaiming My Broken Luna 2

Chapter 343: Surprise Attack

Alpha Theron's POV

The chaos outside was growing louder with each passing second. The warriors are trying their best to defend the Pack and protect us from the invaders, but I had no time to think about that.

My legs carried me swiftly down the dimly lit hallways of the Packhouse. Everyone has left already, I'm the only one who chose to turn around and go back just to fetch the book.

The book. I had to retrieve it. If that book fell into the wrong hands, it would end everything and put Astrid in danger.

No one could know the truth about her being an Almega

I pushed my office open and quickly hurried to the hidden safe where I kept the book hidden. It is tucked inside a concealed drawer beneath my desk. I entered the passcode which only I knew.

My hands trembled slightly as I pulled out the thick book. Its worn cover and dusty pages made it looked unimportant at all.

I clutched it tightly to my chest and turned to leave, my mind racing. I had to get back to Asha who had stayed behind despite the danger.

It's really hard to have two stubborn girls who never listens. Asha and Astrid shared the most similarities, but ironically they don't get along well as they should.

I stopped in my tracks when a massive black wolf blocked my path. Its eyes glowed with a fierce, unrelenting hatred, and its fur bristled as it bared its teeth.

My heart clenched. This was no ordinary rogue.I've never seen a rogue as huge and as powerful as the one in front of me.

He must be the leader of the rogues, the one calling on the shots the whole time. I never thought that we would meet each other like this.

I sniffed the air to catch a whiff of his scent. Werewolves use scents as a way to identify someone, unlike humans who would ask for names instead.

My brows furrowed when my nose detected no scent at all. The wolf is masking his identity, likely using something to conceal its scent.

Only rogues would do something like this. It is clear that they really came here prepared.

The wolf lunged at me without hesitation, his teeth snapping with a ferocity that left no doubt about its intent: to kill.

I sidestepped the attack, my instincts taking over as I dropped the book onto a nearby table. There was no way I could fight while holding it.

Many questions ran inside my head as I faced the wolf, but I had no time to ask questions or bargain with someone who intends to kill me, so I instantly shifted into my wolf ready to defend myself.

My adversary watched as I shifted into my wolf — a massive black beast whose strength had been honed through decades of battle. But even as I stood tall and ready, I felt the weight of my years pressing on me.

I wasn't as fast as I once was, and this wolf was young, strong, and brimming with energy that I do not have.

The rogue charged again, aiming for my throat. I ducked low and swiped at its side, my claws tearing through fur and skin.

It yelped but recovered quickly, spinning around to strike back. Its claws raked around my shoulder, sending a sharp pain coursing through me.

I lunged forward, biting into its flank and shaking it violently before releasing it.

Blood sprayed onto the floor, but as werewolves we have high tolerance. Unless you deliver a fatal blow, you won't win in a fight.

The fight wore on, each of us delivering blow after blow. I managed to dodge several of its attacks, relying on experience and strategy to outmaneuver it.

However, my stamina was waning. The wolf and I have equal speed and power, the only disadvantage I had was that I am fighting someone younger than me.

Every moment I spent fighting

drained me further. It didn't help that

the wolf is aggressive in his attacks.

He knew he has the advantage and

he is using it against me.

The rogue feinted left, then lunged right, its jaws clamping down on my hind leg.

Pain erupted as its teeth sank deep, pulling me off balance.

I retaliated with a savage swipe. Unfortunately, he saw it and he released my leg on time dodging my attack.

Panting heavily, I tried to regain my footing, but my body was slower to respond. Thew wolf circled me, its movements fluid and calculated. It knew I was weakening.

The stakes are now between life and death. It's now or never.

I lunged for its throat with all the remaining strength and stamina I have left. However, the wolf had anticipated the move and sidestepped.

In an instant, it spun and delivered a crushing blow to my side. I felt its claws tear through flesh and bone, a sickening crunch echoing through the room.

The force sent me crashing into the wall, blood pooling beneath me as I struggled to stand.

I staggered, my legs shaking, but the wolf didn't attack again. Instead it stood

there, watching me with cold calculating eyes.noveldrama

My vision blurred, and my breaths came in shallow, ragged gasps as I stared directly to his gaze. During the fight, he was so eager to kill me, now that he had won, he just stood there slowly watching me die

The fatal wound on my side burned, and I knew I didn't have much time left. I wonder what's stopping him from ending my life just then and there.

The wolf stepped back, its gaze lock on mine. Slowly, it began to shift Its form contorted and shrank until a man stood before me, his features sharp and his expression devoid of emotion.

My blood ran cold as I recognized him. Finally, all the questions I had was answered.
