Reclaiming My Broken Luna 2

Chapter 342: Evacuate

Asha's POV

The chaos outside the Packhouse was deafening, the shouts of warriors mixing with the blaring alarms.

My heart pounded in my chest as I rushed to find my father. Three warriors trailed closely behind me, their presence both reassuring and a reminder of how grave the situation was.

When I found him in the main hall, his expression was a mix of concern and focus.

The weight of leadership never left his shoulders, even now, as danger closed in on us.

"Father," I called, my voice firm but urgent. "The rogues have breached the borders. Andros sent me to evacuate you. We have to leave now."

His brows furrowed deeply, his gaze shifting toward the window where the faint glow of fires could be seen in the distance.

"How could this be? How could they get past the security measures so fast? We have the most advanced technology. How could the rogues enter our perimeters just like that?" My father echoed the same questions that I had, but there was no time to think.

"The rogues wouldn't have the courage to attack us if they didn't have a plan," I replied.

"Where is Andros?"

"He's leading the warriors. Astrid insisted he leave with us, but you know him. He wouldn't. He's determined to fight," I said quickly, trying to mask the knot of worry in my stomach. "Father, please. We don't have time to waste."

He nodded, his lips pressing into a thin line. "Alright. Let's go."

I led him out of the Packhouse, my eyes scanning the area for any signs of movement.

The warriors flanked us protectively, their weapons drawn and ready. My feet moved quickly, but my mind raced even faster.

When we reached the edge of the Packhouse grounds, my father suddenly stopped.

"Wait," he said, his tone sharp. He turned back toward the building, his expression hardening.

"Father, what are you doing?" I asked, panic creeping into my voice.

"I need to go back," he said, already taking a step toward the Packhouse.

"What?" I grabbed his arm, stopping him. "We can't go back. We had to leave! The rogues would be coming soon!"

He turned to me, his eyes serious. "I left something in my office. Something that cannot fall into the hands of the rogues. It's too important."

"What could possibly be worth the risk?" I demanded, my grip tightening on his arm. “Just leave it. Your safety is more important!"

His gaze softened briefly, but the determination in his voice didn't waver. "Asha, this isn't just about me. If they get what I left behind, it will jeopardize everything."

My breath hitched, my resolve faltering as his words sank in. What could he have left behind that was so crucial?

I didn't want to let him go, but I also knew I couldn't stop him.

“Fine,” I said reluctantly, my voice trembling. "But I'm staying here. We'll wait for you, right here, and we're not leaving without you."

He hesitated, as if weighing my words, then nodded. "Alright. Stay hidden and don't move. I'll be quick."

“Be careful,” I said, my voice barely above a whisper.

Without another word, he turned and sprinted back toward the Packhouse. I watched him go, my chest tightening with every step he took away from me.

"We wait here," I told the warriors firmly, even as my gut twisted with unease.

"Lady Asha, I think it would be best if you could go first. I'll take care of Alpha Theron," one of the warriors suggested cautiously, his eyes scanning the darkened treeline as if expecting an ambush.

"I'm not going to leave without my father," I snapped, my voice sharper than I intended.

The warrior flinched, and an uneasy silence fell over the group.

My chestheaved as I tried to keep my emotions in check. The thought of leaving

him behind twisted like a knife in my gut.

I knew the rogues were closing in, but abandoning Father wasn't an option.

"Asha?"

The familiar voice made me whirl around. Andros strode toward us, his face dark with concern and frustration.

He was flanked by a small group of warriors, their weapons drawn and ready.

"What's going on here?" he demanded, his sharp gaze flicking over the group before landing on me. "Why are you still here? You're supposed to be evacuating."

"And where's Father?" His tone grew even more urgent as he scanned the area.

I swallowed hard, struggling to keep

my voice steady. "He... he remembered something he left behind in the Packhouse. Something important. He said it couldn't fall into the hands of the rogues, so he went back to get it." noveldrama

"What?" Andros's expression darkened further.

He turned sharply to the Packhouse, his jaw tightening as he processed my words. "You know going back is dangerous. The rogues would target

the

ackhouse first once they

breach the perimeter!"

"I tried to stop him," I said, my voice cracking under the weight of my guilt. "But he

wouldn't listen. He said it was too important."

Andros cursed, a low, angry sound under his breath. His hands clenched into fists at his sides, his frustration palpable.

After a moment, he exhaled sharply, forcing himself to regain his composure.

"I'll go after him," I said quickly, my words tumbling out in desperation. "I'll find him and-"

"No," Andros cut me off firmly. "You're not going back in there, Asha. It's too dangerous."

"But-"

"No buts." His tone softened slightly as he stepped closer, his hand gripping my shoulder. "I'll go. I'll bring him back."

I looked at him, my heart hammering in my chest. "Promise me, Andros. Promise me you'll protect him. That you'll bring him back safely."

He nodded, his expression hard but resolute. "I will. I swear it, Asha. I'll take care of Father."

"You can't let anything happen to him," I added resolutely.

"I won't," he said, his voice steady, the kind of voice that left no room for doubt. “Go to the safehouse, Asha. Take the warriors with you. We'll meet you there.”

I swallowed hard and fell silent. I trust my brother, I know he is going to take care of father.

The thought of leaving them behind and rushing to safety to protect just myself made me anxious.

My throat felt tight as I finally nodded. "Okay," I whispered. "I'll go. But please... please be careful."

"I will," he assured me, his hand squeezing my shoulder briefly before he turns to the warriors to escort me away.
