Chapter 1438
A guy with a mask strolled in, cool as a cucumber. With just a slight raise of his hand, someone cut Odie loose.
"So, where'd you stash it?"
The voice was low and almost mechanical, the kind that sends shivers down your spine in a place like this dungeon.
Odie glanced at the masked figure, his face smeared with blood, yet he managed a cheeky grin. "Take a wild guess. If you hit the jackpot, I just might spill the beans."
The air was ice-cold, making the whole scene feel even more grim.
Masked Guy held up two daggers, identical twins.
"One of these is the real deal, the other's a dud. If the real one hits your heart, well, that's God calling for you. The fake one? Just means you get another shot at life. Mr. Odie, you love a good gamble, right? So, which one's it gonna be?" Odie's eyes turned to stone, cold and hard.
The guy chuckled, "You know this game all too well, don't you, Mr. Odie?"
Before the words settled, he plunged a dagger into Odie's chest, but it bounced off, a fake.
Then, with a sly grin, he said, "Oops, forgot your heart's on the right side."
And in went the other dagger, sinking deep into Odie's flesh.
Odie coughed up blood, and Masked Guy stepped back, unfazed. "Relax, this won't kill you. I can test all those nasty tricks from the Minton Casino on you until you crack. But hey, hand over what I want, and you might just join The Silent Shadows." Odie looked up, defiant. His laugh was wild, "Dream on, buddy."
Silence wrapped around them for a moment. The dim light flickered, casting a spooky glow.NôvelDrama.Org: text © owner.

As he walked out, Masked Guy paused, a thought lingering. "Think Sophie and Colby can sniff this place out? Bet they'd never guess Odie's trapped in his own casino's dungeon." en
Odie's eyes flickered, just a bit.
"If they show up... well, that'd be interesting."
With that, Masked Guy left, leaving a trail of mystery behind.

The suffocation hit hard, making his head spin.
Pain?
This was nothing compared to what he's survived.
He's walked this road before, and he'd do it again, fearlessly.
The boss?
What boss?
What's he ever faced? What's he ever felt?
Odie scoffed at the idea of God.
Even if death itself came knocking, he wouldn't flinch.
His life was his own, and he'd seen worse than this so-called savior.
