Secrets Of The Neglected Wife

Chapter 773

Chapter 773:

“Miss Alice, how do you feel about this dress?” the stylist asked, her tone unusually serious.noveldrama

She held up a silver-white gown, encrusted with sparkling diamonds. The lace was exquisitely crafted, a high-end evening dress from Vrining’s top luxury brand. The combined value of the other dresses didn’t even come close to this one.

“Let’s go with this one,” Allison nodded and said. “It’s truly a stunning dress.”

As the stylist helped her into the gown, she smiled and said, “This dress is called ‘Saint Leah’s Messenger.’ It’s very form-fitting, but it looks like it was made just for you.”

Her voice wasn’t loud, but Jareth, waiting in the living room, heard every word. He couldn’t help but laugh under his breath. As an illegal immigrant, no matter how beautiful, she couldn’t possibly be a “Saint Leah’s Messenger.” Yet, his thoughts were quickly shaken.

Allison stepped out in high heels, her earrings gleaming, though they were no match for her natural glow. The legendary dress seemed like just an accessory on her. With her delicate and elegant makeup and outfit, Allison looked every bit the goddess.

“Mr. Williamson, I think we’re ready to go,” Allison said, unsure of what he was thinking. She watched him carefully. “I hope this doesn’t look too bad, right?”

Jareth was taken aback for a moment, then snapped back to reality. “It’s beautiful, and it’s certainly presentable.” He thought, without a doubt, that the silver chain on her forehead made her look like a goddess with a halo.

“Mr. Shaw is waiting. Alice, follow me,” he said.

“Alright, thank you,” Allison replied.

She then followed him to the parking lot. Through the tinted windows of the sleek black car, a man’s silhouette could just be made out inside. When the car door opened, Verruckt’s tall figure stepped into view.

“Now you look like someone from a noble family,” he said, leaning against the car with his right knee slightly bent. He watched her with interest. It was the first time Verruckt had ever given a woman an evening dress. The dress he had chosen for her fit perfectly.

Allison looked at him, her expression innocent. “So, Mr. Shaw, does that mean you’re happy with it?”

Their eyes locked, and Verruckt gave a smirk. “Just barely, but this dress is truly stunning.”

His voice was low as he opened the car door. “Get in.”

Allison smiled with gratitude, saying, “Thank you, Mr. Shaw. If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t be wearing such a beautiful dress.” She had just settled into the passenger seat and was about to fasten her seatbelt when a firm hand reached over to do it for her.
