Sir, Madam Dispeared Again After Divorce!

Chapter 1079 Into Trouble Again

Chapter 1079 Into Trouble Again

"That's right." Luke laughed with relief. Then he thought of something and sneered, "Anyway, I'm speechless when it comes to these people. If they want to rely on apologies to preserve their positions, they should apologize sincerely. If they were to apologize to all of us genuinely, I might have some respect for them. But they chose to apologize only to you, exposing their true intentions. Such people are foolish!"

He glanced at Julien and continued, "Dude, you can't let them off easily just because they suddenly came to apologize to Syd." Material © of NôvelDrama.Org.

"Idiot!" Julien snorted.

His remark annoyed Luke.

Just as Luke was about to roll up his sleeves and confront Julien, Sydney quickly gestured for him to calm down. "Alright, knock it off. I won't let them off the hook, and neither will Julien. Your worries are unnecessary."

Just as Luke had just said, if these media outlets had sincerely apologized to the two of them, maybe she would have shown some leniency.

But those people were arrogant, thinking that they only had to apologize to her, as if once they did that, they would gain her forgiveness, and Julien would let them go.

How ridiculous!

She wondered who came up with such a terrible idea for them.

"Go and reject them, telling them to save their apology, and return the gifts as well." While Sydney was mocking those people, Julien gave his instructions to Sean.

Sean didn't want to stand at the door all the time.

The longer she stayed, the more she couldn't help but look at Luke.

She didn't want him to take notice and cause her trouble.

So, she was more than happy to receive Julien's instructions. She quickly nodded and said, "I'm on it."

With that, she hurried away.

Luke listened to the sound of high heels fading away with an explicable feeling.

But instead of suppressing it, he poked his head out from behind the chair and looked into the doorway.

Sean was already gone, but Luke kept staring at it, his expression unreadable.

Sydney and Julien watched his action.

After a while, Sydne winked at Julien. "Don't you think Luke is acting strange?"

Julien's eyes flickered, and he winked back, as if saying, "Isn't he always like this?"

The corner of Sydney's mouth twitched.

She was speechless.

Her phone suddenly rang.

The ringing sound brought Luke back to reality.

He turned back with a frown and a hint of annoyance on his face.

It seemed that he was angry with himself for staring at the door for a long time.

Julien looked at him meaningfully.

Luke noticed his gaze and glared at him. "What are you looking at?"

"So, you haven't noticed it yet," Julien smirked.

Luke scowled. "What do you mean?"

Julien didn't answer. Instead, he looked down and started playing with Sydney's pen holder.

Luke was pissed off.

This guy was intentionally keeping him in suspense.

It was infuriating.

Luke stared fiercely at Julien as if he could bore holes with his eyes.

This guy was truly despicable.

Sydney noticed their interactions, but she didn't say anything. She simply went to take the call.

She had been used to it. The two men bickered whenever they met.

It was fine as long as they didn't fight.

"Hello, this is Sydney." She put the phone to her ear and spoke politely.

The call was from an unfamiliar number. She didn't know who it was.

But she received several calls like this every day, so she didn't think much of it.

"Ms. Raines, I'm from Starlight Media." An urgent voice from the other end of the phone. "Here's the thing. We just received a reply from your secretary. She said that you rejected our apology and returned our gifts. May I ask if you were dissatisfied with them or if you felt they were insufficient? If you're dissatisfied, we can prepare according to your preferences, and if they are insufficient, we can offer more. Please give us an opportunity to apologize."

Sydney was both annoyed and amused.

Apparently, they didn't know the real reason why she had rejected their apologies and returned their gifts.

They had no idea how ridiculous their so-called apologies were, and they were absurd to think that she had rejected them because she found the gifts inadequate.

They were truly arrogant and presumptuous.

Sydney's face fell, and her voice turned cold. "I'm sorry, sir. I'm currently inspecting a factory outside, and you're breaking up. Let's talk about it next time. Bye."

She then hung up the phone with a poker face.

"What's wrong?" Julien frowned, looking at her with concern.

Sydney shook her head and told him everything.

Julien heard her out and scowled.

It seemed that he had been too lenient, allowing these people to have the energy to remain arrogant.

He decided to give these people more pressure.

While he was thinking to himself, Sydney's phone rang again.

Without checking out the caller ID, she picked up the phone and sulked, "If you still think I rejected your apology because I didn't like your gifts, then we have nothing to talk about..."

Before she could finish her words, the caller spoke.

After the initial surprise, Sydney quickly looked at the screen of her phone, and the sight of the caller ID made her cringe.

"I'm sorry." She put the phone back to her ear and quickly apologized, "I didn't mean to. I thought it was some unscrupulous media. Okay, I'll be right there."

After hanging up the phone, she patted her chest and let out a sigh of relief.

It was really embarrassing.

She had spoken harshly, thinking it was another call from the media.

But when the caller spoke, she realized that she had made a mistake.

"Whose call was it?" Julien glanced at the phone she had put down and frowned.

Luke also looked at her.

Sydney picked up her cup to take a sip of water, composed herself, and then replied, "A police officer. They asked me to go there."

"What?" Luke tilted his head and asked her, "What trouble have you gotten into this time?"
