Chapter 1124
Henry tugged on the maid's sleeve, trying his best to coax her into picking some flowers with him. But the maid, looking a bit nervous, said, “Henry, those are your father's flowers. Only your mom's got the guts to touch them. We wouldn't dare."
Henry, not one to give up easily, decided to get the tools himself. But somehow, he found himself wandering into his dad's wine cellar in the basement instead.
After a while of playing and getting tired, Henry knocked on his parents' bedroom door, "Mommy, Daddy!"
Mia, trying to drown out the noise with a pillow, eventually buried herself under the covers, muttering, "Mommy needs some peace!"
Fed up, Mia yelled out, "Someone get Henry out of here!"
The maid hurriedly whisked Henry away, making sure not to disturb the lady of the house any further.
Later that evening, Andre strutted in, looking quite pleased with himself.
His colleagues at work could always tell when he was in a good mood, and seeing his cheeky son only added to his delight.
He'd heard about Henry watering the lawn in his own way earlier. But hey, kids will be kids, always getting into some kind of mischief.
Then there was the little escapade in the gazebo. Oh well, he thought, it's nothing a little repair can't fix.
And sneaking into the wine cellar? Well, he figured, as long as the boy was happy and carefree, it was all good.
But then he heard about Henry bothering Mia during her nap. Andre raised an eyebrow, "... You disturbed your mom?"
Henry, not quite grasping the seriousness, just shrugged, "Huh?"
Andre gave his little backside a gentle swat, "You need to be more thoughtful."
With a mix of amusement and guilt, Andre headed to their bedroom to check on Mia.
Trying to act all serious, he wrapped his arms around his sleepy wife through the covers, "Mia, time to rise and shine, sweetheart."
"The study, the guest room, the nursery, take your pick," Mia huffed, still cross with Andre.
Andre chuckled, "...I'll settle for the bedroom couch."
Mia tossed a pillow at him, "Three days on the couch, and don't you dare sneak back into bed!"
Meanwhile, at the Byrne family's house...
Molly sat up in bed, locking eyes with her husband, "Go explain to Mom, Dad, Grandma, and Grandpa why I've been snoozing all day."
Officer Chad sighed, "...They've all been through this."
"It's my reputation on the line. Chad, I had no idea you could be such a handful!"
Chad grinned, "Like a monk who's finally tasted meat, after a long fast, I just can't get enough."
Molly promptly placed their son between them, "Tonight, you'll see how it feels when it's your turn to be kept up!"
Chad, with a playful smirk, scooped up their son.
Later, Molly came downstairs.
Her mom, Coleen, raised an eyebrow, "Didn't think you'd wake up until next year!"
Molly shot Chad a glare, "Didn't want to scare Mom by sleeping through to next year."
Coleen pointed to the dining table, "Breakfast waited till noon, lunch till evening, and dinner's still here. Alinoveldrama
threemeals are lined up, go dig in."
"Mom, I want to tag along to the office with you."
Coleen was caught off guard, but glanced at Chad, who was keeping quiet, “Give it a bit of time. You just had a baby. I've got a coach lined up to helpyou with postnatal recovery. If Chad doesn't step up for you and Wayne, I'll step in."
Chad assured, "Mom, I've got this."
Molly turned away with a playful scoff.
Chad, full of affection, watched her fondly.
That evening, Molly devoured her meal. Afterward, in the gentle summer breeze, Chad, holding their son, took a leisurely stroll downtown with Molly.
When they got back, Chad noticed his bank account looking a bit slimmer.
What do you think?
