Chapter 1125
Mia lived in Maplewood Estates and one day, she got three phone calls. Hansen was missing his grandson so much that he couldn't sleep and had no appetite.
Meanwhile, Mia was lounging on a deck chair by the pool. She was fanning herself, dressed in a comfy nightgown, watching her husband and son splash around in the water. Little Henry was like a glowing ball of dough, pale, soft, and absolutely adorable. His tiny arms were energetically creating waves as he played with his dad.
Summer was in full swing, the noontime sun blazing down on the pool. But by afternoon, as the sun started to set, the pool water was pleasantly warm, and she wasn't worried about Henry catching a cold.
Hansen called and said, “Mia, how could you just leave me all by myself at home?"
Mia chuckled and asked, "Did you run out of tokens in your games again or did Candy Crush stump you?"
"... Yeah, I ran out. Stuck on level 1000-something, and Harry Rayner beat me to it again." Hansen confessed sheepishly.
Mia teased, "Got that summer craving for shrimp scampi again?”
"Hey, I didn't say that," Hansen quickly deflected.
"Dad, just hang tight for a couple more days," Mia reassured him. She hadn't let her husband back in their bed yet after a little tiff. "We'll bring the little rascal back soon," she added.
After handling one call, she moved on to the next.
"Sweetheart, are you planning not to visit us at all? If not you, maybe Chad and Wayne could swing by?" her father asked.
Molly replied, "Dad, sounds like you don't miss me at all, huh?"
Mia needed to go back to the Cedillo family home because it was closer to the library, and it was on her husband's route. Though Maplewood Estates was convenient, she felt like she was tackling everything solo. Plus, the library and Cedillo Inc. were in opposite directions, making daily drop-offs a hassle.
When alone, her study sessions were constantly interrupted by her son. Even a bathroom break turned into a game as her darling boy would cling to her legs, pleading with those big eyes, "Mommy, let's play hide and seek."
Feeling guilty for not spending enough time with him, she'd agree, "Alright, just for a little while."
And just like that, the afternoon would slip away.
She really needed a study buddy to keep her motivated. Jamie, this time around, was laser-focused, heading to the library daily. She became quieter, spending mornings memorizing and evenings reviewing vocabulary, sitting still for hours during the day.
That night, Mia told her husband, "Let's move back to the Cedillo family home. Dad's all alone, and with Henry there, they can keep each other company. It'll be easier for me to hit the library, and you can drop me off. Plus, Lanie can help me study. What do you think, honey?"
Andre, grateful to be back in their bed, replied, "Whatever you decide, I'm with you."noveldrama
The next day, the family of three made the move.
Hansen called his daughter, "Come on, hurry up! Andre, Mia, and Henry are already here, just waiting on you."
Molly showed up a day later, arms full of bags, "Dad, I'm leaving our little nap dragon with you."
Suddenly, Hansen had two little bundles of joy to look after.
Henry clambered onto the sofa, curious and eager to play with his brother.
Mia continued her early morning library routine Occasionally, she felt sluggish and tempted to grumble at her husband while getting ready. But then she'd see the lunch he sent over, and she'd give him a sweet kiss on the cheek, making him light
up with happiness. "Mia, pick you
up tonight," he'd say.
Meanwhile, Molly was busy with postnatal recovery, focusing on getting back in
shape and staying healthy postpartum.
What do you think?
