The CEO Gets What He Wants

Chapter 208

Chapter 208

Cayden was exuding an icy cold aura that made others keep a distance from him.

Feeling helpless, Avery adjusted her clothes and looked out the window, not daring to speak.

Xavier closed the car door after Avery got into the car. He then went to the house and fetched Zachary and Rory, who were obediently doing their homework.

The black Bentley's backseat was luxurious and spacious. Xavier carried Zachary and Rory into the car one after another. However, Cayden didn't carry them, and his eyes were full of frustration and disdain when he looked at them.

Fortunately, the kids had already gotten used to it over the years.

When she saw Avery, Rory went over and asked obediently, “Ms. Ery, can I sit with you?”

“Of course. Come over here,” Avery said in a soft voice.

After she finished speaking, Avery took Rory's hand and gently pulled the little girl into her embrace.

The scene was so heartwarming. They would have seemed like a family of four on a weekend trip to the countryside if it weren't for Cayden acting cold and distant.

Zachary wanted to snuggle with Avery too, but he shrank his neck into his collar in fright when he saw his father's expressionless face.

Instantly, Zachary knew that his father was in a bad mood again.

Sitting on the soft leather seat opposite Cayden, Zachary fastened his seatbelt with his head down. Then, he looked up at his father without saying a word.

In Ackleton, Dylan had washed himself up and changed his clothes. He then drove away from the bar.

He even brought Milana along because she kept saying that she was Avery's sister.

In Dylan's eyes, Milana was just a lowly tramp with no background. However, after realizing that her last name was also Rumpley and that she was Avery's sister, Dylan's opinion of her changed completely.

Although he had only slept with Avery's stepsister and not Avery, Dylan still felt an indescribable pleasure.

He even had a perverted thought. If only Milana is Avery's biological sister. I would've at least won in a way. It's a pity that she isn't.

Milana kept observing Dylan's expression while sitting in the passenger seat.

The car was moving at an extremely fast speed. Dylan's face was dark and grim, which mirrored his vicious-looking eyes. His lips were shut tight, and faint smoke was coming out of his nostrils.

Soon, Dylan parked his car in front of a private restaurant.

Nicole was wearing ordinary clothes. She was in a hoodie with her hair tied up and a pair of huge

glasses on her nose, looking like a student.

The restaurant was owned by someone Nicole knew, so there was no need for her to worry about the paparazzi finding her. Even though that was the case, Nicole was always very cautious when she was out in public on her own.

After all, there were paparazzi everywhere, and Nicole had been photographed last night, even though she tried her best to be cautious. This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org: ©.

When Dylan entered the room on the second floor, Nicole looked over and asked, “Who is the person behind you?”

Milana was stunned. It was her first time being face-to-face with a celebrity. Nicole didn't look as surreal as she was on TV, nor was she unapproachable. The photos on the internet were indeed edited.

Nevertheless, Nicole still looked great. She had exquisite facial features and a very distinctive appearance, unlike most celebrities.

As a woman, Milana envied Nicole. We're both women, but why is Nicole's life so much better than mine?

“She's just a friend,” Dylan introduced Milana indifferently and sat down. Then, he stared straight at Nicole with menacing eyes.

Nicole knew what Dylan wanted to ask, so she quickly said, “My mom said that my dad is in a meeting in Beshya. It's a closed meeting, so I'm afraid he doesn't know about us being photographed.”

After confirming that Nicole's parents and the agency were not responsible for what had happened, Dylan took out a cigarette and lit it while frowning and pondering over the matter. When Cayden came to his mind, Dylan sneered with the cigarette in his mouth. “He really cares more than me.”

“Huh? Who cares more than you?” asked Nicole.

“It's nothing.” Dylan threw the lighter in his hand on the table and continued, disregarding Milana's presence, “Didn't you want to meet my wife? We'll set out after a meal.”

Nicole was surprised. That soon?

Milana was listening carefully to the conversation between the two while looking around. Suddenly, the two girls' eyes met, which prompted Milana to smile awkwardly at Nicole.

Nicole gave Milana's childish appearance a once-over. Even though she didn't know who Milana was, Nicole still greeted her politely, “Hello.”

Delighted, Milana immediately introduced herself, “N-Nice to meet you. I'm Milana Rumpley!”

Dylan felt that Milana was embarrassing him and ignored her. He closed his eyes and said while taking a puff, “She wants to enter the entertainment industry. You should guide her if you can. She said that she's even willing to play a corpse or a passerby.”

There were different levels in the social circles. Although Nicole and Dylan were not at the top of the hierarchy, they still had a higher status than regular wealthy people.

Nicole could sense Dylan's disdain toward Milana in his tone, and she also noticed Milana's last name.

As such, she nodded and said, “You want to act? I'm afraid that's impossible for now. However, you can stick with me if you are really keen. I will get you a role when I have the right opportunity.”

Milana widened her mouth and eyes in surprise. “Really? Thank you, Ms. Lambert! Thank you so much!”

Milana's excited voice filled the entire room, and she was on the verge of kneeling.

Now that Nicole allowed her to follow, Milana joined them as they headed out to town to find Avery after the meal.

Back in town, the adults and children were silent throughout the ride.

Rory appeared to be at ease as she snuggled in Avery's arms. Soon, she dozed off with her mouth pursed.

The two cars in front of them had stopped as they arrived at their destination. The Trident Group's higher-ups, business partners, and Avery's colleagues who were stationed in the town together all got out of the cars one after another.

Avery was unsure of what to do while looking at Rory, who was sleeping in her arms.

Avery was already perplexed the moment she was asked to get into the car that Cayden was in. However, seeing Cayden's icy cold expression, Nicole was afraid that he might be furious if she got out of the car.

With countless strangers around them, Avery didn't dare to show her affection for the kids as she was

afraid that people would gossip about her. She had no choice but to ask the man next to her for help, “Can you carry your daughter?”

Last night, Cayden didn't get enough rest. Not only was he drunk, but he also had a passionate night with Avery, leaving him no time to rest.

There was no peace for him in the morning either, as the marriage certificate of Dylan and Avery circulated everywhere.

Until Avery's name was formally added to his family registry, Cayden's rage was unlikely to go away.

Feeling uncomfortable, Cayden squeezed and pressed his temples with his fingers before stepping out of the car. He walked to Avery's side and reached out to carry his daughter. The back of Cayden's hand, which had protruding veins, accidentally brushed against Avery's soft chest, which was rising and falling with her breathing.
