"But..." Noelle wanted to say something more but stopped when she saw the cold expression on Steven's face.

She swallowed hard, staring at the two lifeless bodies on the ground. At that moment, she suddenly felt how fragile life could be.

Just moments ago, they were relentlessly chasing her, and now, they were gone from this world.

It was not that Noelle was trying to be overly compassionate. Even though she had seen dramatic scenes in TV shows and novels, those were all fictional.
