The Cherished Wife

Chapter 650

"Names!" Charles snapped impatiently. "I don't have time to waste on you!"

While the female assassin was momentarily distracted, Charles leaped over the car roof. Even though her reflexes were sharp, she was no match for Charles' speed.

He swiftly disarmed her and removed the magazine from her gun. Before she could utter a word, he slashed her throat with a military knife. The assassin's eyes widened in shock. She clutched her neck, pointing a trembling finger at Charles. "Y-You..." she stammered, disbelief etched across her face.

She could not fathom how he moved so quickly or how he disarmed and defeated her before she even had a chance to react.

Charles straightened up, glancing at the blood-stained coat he was wearing.

He shrugged it off and held it in his hand. Looking down at the lifeless assassin with cold detachment, he said, "I've never had patience for people who waste my time."

In fact, he had no interest in finding out who had ordered the hit on him.

"Come out," he called.

"Well, well," Sean said, stepping out and twirling a gun in his hand. "Charles, you're really something. I rushed all the way here to save your ass, and it turns out you handled it all by yourself.

"What did you call me for? Just to waste my time?"

Sean glanced at the three bodies on the ground. "Not bad at all."

Charles shot him a sidelong glance. "You're just showing up now?"

"Of course. You have no idea how hard it was to find this place. And really, you had to pick some godforsaken spot in the middle of nowhere? So, who did you tick off this time?" Sean asked half-jokingly.

Charles could not be bothered to answer. He scanned the area quickly, ensuring he had not left any trace. He then climbed back into his car.

Seeing this, Sean hurried after him. "Hey, aren't you going to at least clean up a bit? I mean..."

He stopped himself, realizing that Charles, being the guy he was, never left anything to chance. If he was driving off now, it was because there were no loose ends left behind.

"Oh, by the way, Peter said ambushes have been laid out near your place. I've already called Ronald. He and Andrew are on their way there." Charles shut the car door, pausing momentarily at Sean's words.

He glanced at Sean with a tense expression. "Where's Nelly?"

"Tsk, even now you can't help rubbing it in for us single folks." Sean sighed dramatically.

Sean's shouts went unanswered as Charles' car was already long gone.

Rolling his eyes, Sean glanced at the three bodies on the ground. "What a mess. You idiots really came here just to get wrecked, huh? Lost your lives, and now, I've gotta clean up after you for free."
