When Darius made his demands, Tony knitted his brows together as he sat nearby.

Tony thought Darius was the grateful one since he came back to take care of Jay's funeral. But to his surprise, Darius was the first to ask for a share of Jay's inheritance.

He had been feeling dejected, and now, his heart was completely shut off. He was utterly disappointed in Benson, Marilyn, and Darius.

Looking back to Darius' birth, Tony recalled Jay's excitement about picking a name. Even though it was just a name, it had taken Jay a month to settle on one.

Jay spent that first month calling Darius "Baby". Even after Darius grew up, he kept calling Darius that like a nickname, but...

As Tony thought about it, he felt a pang of sorrow and thought to himself, "You saw Darius as your baby, but all he sees is the inheritance, Jay."

Then, there was Benson, Jay's first child. Back then, Jay was so thrilled that he stayed up all night coming up with the name-Benson.

Jay picked a name with the meaning of "blessing", hoping Benson would be blessed with greatness. But at that time, Tony teased Jay that the name sounded like a retired old man.

As for Marilyn, Jay was over the moon to have a daughter. He was so gentle with her, worried that she was too delicate and might get hurt.

At this point, Tony stood beside them without saying a word or shedding a tear. He never expected Jay, who spent his life working hard to raise the three kids, to end up like this.

Matthew silently accompanied Tony. He had already given up on the three of them, so nothing they did would surprise him anymore. If it weren't for Vital Restorative Remedies, he would've left.

When Darius brought up the book earlier, Matthew knew it was in the villa. But now, with Tony heartbroken and the three ungrateful Carlings acting the way they were, he didn't want to make things harder for Tony.

With the dog in his arms, Benson fixed his cold gaze on Darius. "What makes you think you can inherit Vital Restorative Remedies? I'm the firstborn of the Carling family, so it should be mine. Unless I'm dead, you have no chance to have it."

Darius frowned. "Who cares if you're the oldest among all of us? Dad had three kids, and we all get a share."

Marilyn came closer. "As the sole daughter in the family, I was Dad's favorite. Whenever I asked for something, he never turned me down. If Dad were still with us, he'd definitely hand me Vital Restorative Remedies."

Benson was infuriated. "You're a woman, and you think you can inherit the medical book? Keep dreaming. Only a man gets to have the book. It's either me or Darius, so you don't get to have the chance."

It didn't take long before their conversation escalated into an argument. Everyone claimed they were the rightful ones to get the book.

Tony was devastated. Jay's body was still lying there, but the three young Carlings couldn't care less. Trembling, he staggered back inside the villa.

Matthew trailed behind Tony. "A-Are you going inside?"

Walking slowly, Tony remarked, "When our parents died, I was 18, and Jay was only 8. I raised him like his parent. Jay couldn't even cook. Simple things like pasta and cutting ingredients were impossible for him. I didn't have much to offer, so he had to go through a lot because of me.

"I worked hard to put him through school and married him off so that he could build his own family. Later, he had two sons and a daughter, so I really thought he had finally found happiness.

"Who would've imagined? He died, and no one cares enough to take care of his body. Nobody truly cares about him, and I'm the only one left to see him to the end."

Upon hearing this, Matthew felt bitter and unsettled. "Do you want my help?"

Tony shook his head. "Only a close family member should handle the body. It's the last farewell I can offer, so let me do it. Call the funeral home to handle the arrangements. I'll have the body cleaned up by the time they get here."
