Matthew hummed in reply and continued to read, saying, "Tony, it was from that moment that I knew-in this life, you're the only one who truly cares for me. You're also the only relative I have left in this entire world. I swore to listen to everything you asked of me once I got better.

"No matter what it was, I would listen and do as you said. Then, you found a job for me after I recovered, and I only learned later on that you had begged the boss to give me a job. You even told the boss that he could use your wages to pay me if I did a terrible job.

"I know you told the boss not to tell me all this, but I know now, Tony, and I'l remember it all my life.

"A few years after I officially started working, you began to study medicine and made arrangements for my marriage. I rejected the idea back then. How could I get married first when you're older than me?

"But you told me that you wouldn't be able to take charge of the family or help me out if you were to get married first. I remember how you kept insisting that I get married first, and the thought of it grew on me afterward.

"But I never expected my family situation to go downhill. We only managed to get by with your help in the end, and I never thought that it would delay your marriage plans.

"As time passed, your medical skills improved proficiently, but the potential marriage matches you were introduced to were all either divorced or widowed. There's no way you'd be interested in those women when you had such high standards.

"Now that I think about it, Tony, I really regret getting married first. Because of me, your marriage plans were delayed. You suffered so much alone later on, and it really pained me. I got even more distressed after seeing the trash can in your room, filled with wrinkled tissues that were yellowed..."

Matthew stopped after he read that line. He couldn't read on any further and awkwardly raised his head to look at Tony.

Tony was coughing non-stop. He was caught up in hesitation before he said, "I... I had a cold back then, and I used up all those tissues to blow my nose, so don't misunderstand me. Jay had an imagination, and he always thought too much."

Matthew never imagined Tony to handle such an awkward matter so smoothly. Then, he asked, "Should... I continue reading? I feel that he's got something very important to say."

Upon hearing that, Tony frowned and thought for a bit. Then, he said, "You can continue reading. Just don't believe everything Jay says."

At that, Matthew laughed and said, "I won't. I won't believe him at all."

Tony's face flushed red upon hearing Matthew's response, and he pursed his lips tightly.

Then, Matthew continued to read aloud, "Tony, I hope you'll find someone as well. I know personally how splendid a woman can be, so I don't want you to live your life in vain.

"But there are some words I wanna tell you, though you scold me whenever I bring it up. I just wanna tell you not to be too stubborn and prideful. It doesn't matter if you aren't able to find yourself a wife, Tony, but you must at least find yourself a woman.

"It doesn't matter even if you have to pay for their service or become a sugar daddy because you've got to at least get a taste of a woman yourself. I know you're gonna call me a bastard once you see this."

Once Matthew finished reading that sentence, Tony blurted out all of a sudden, "Bastard! Are you telling me to go play around now? I..."

Tony was going to burst out in anger and curse Jay out, but he gave up and sighed after he remembered Jay had already passed away.

Meanwhile, Matthew felt a passing shock. He couldn't believe that Jay was seriously asking Tony to go out and pick up women. Still, he had to say that Jay really treated Tony as his elder brother.noveldrama

After he cleared his throat, Matthew continued to read, "Don't curse me out, Tony. Please, just listen to me for once. You only live once, and you can't miss out on the wonderful experiences you'd get together with a woman. You've got to get out there and pick up a woman-a young one. Don't live your life in vain."
