The Great Medical Saint

Chapter 842

Tony became awkward at the mention of picking up young women and interrupted Matthew immediately, "This bastard! What's he writing about? Does he think I only think of women like he does? Does he think I'll die if I don't have a woman with me?"

But Matthew held a different perspective and said, "It's not about women. It's about living the perfect life as a man. You're missing the big picture here because you're in the thick of it and misunderstanding your brother's intentions."

Immediately, Tony's expression softened a little. "What kind of nonsense is this? You'll only get a messy and meaningless relationship out of it if there's no love. It's just an unreliable mass of carnal desires. Just continue reading."

Matthew then shifted his gaze back to the paper and read, "Tony, stop being stubborn and listen to me for every matter related to women. You gotta experience how it feels at least once, and you gotta try drinking too.

"Drinking is just another form of entertainment, so don't stay so uptight. Right, there's another thing I wanna talk about, Tony. You were right when you asked me not to send all three of my kids overseas to study. I was so wrong about it.

"You persuaded me back then to let the kids stay in Cafra to study traditional medicine, but I was too blinded by obsession. In the end, I experienced the pain of not being able to see my kids again.

"It feels as if I've sent them to space instead of Eastoria because I receive no news of them. I worked so hard to raise them as their father, but none of them would return to see me now. I can't even brew them some coffee or sit down to chat with them even if I wanted to.noveldrama

"They haven't returned for years, but they came back all of a sudden recently. You have no idea how excited I was. I even hired a hotel's chef to prepare meals for them just to welcome them back. But do you know what they returned for?

"They returned for the medical literature-Vital Restorative Remedies. At that time, I thought that as long as I had Vital Restorative Remedies, I'd be able to get all my kids to return home from time to time.

"But I was wrong about that. Right after my kids left, there'd always be someone who came around just to ask about this medical literature. Some even threatened me, and they've become even more aggressive these days.

"I felt really uneasy under those circumstances, so I hid the medical literature at your place. Oh, and if I die, or if you've woken up and learned of this, please don't waste your tears on me. It's all my fault, so I deserve it.

"It's my fault for not listening to you back then. It was my fault for sending my kids overseas and nurturing them into our own enemies. I hope that you'll be able to live life peacefully up until old age."

Upon hearing what Matthew read, Tony asked all of a sudden, "Didn't Jay pass away naturally? Was he murdered instead?

At that, Matthew thought back to the condition of the corpse and shook his head, saying, "I don't know. His remains had deteriorated beyond recognition when we saw it, so there wasn't much we could tell from it. But we can probably assume that he was killed, according to his letter."

Having heard that, Tony kicked one of the shabby chairs and started cursing out like mad, "These ingrates-all three of them! How dare they kill even their own father! I'm going to kill them!"

Matthew watched in silence. He could understand the rage Tony was

experiencing. Even an outsider would be boiling with the same rage if they heard

that.

What they had done was extremely outrageous, and not a single person with conscience would forgive them.

After Tony had cursed them out for around ten minutes, he slowly regained his composure and huffed as he said, "You've finished reading, right?"

Matthew glanced at the letter and said, "There's a little more."

Then, Tony responded faintly, "Continue reading, then."

Having been cued, Matthew continued, "Tony, that's really all I have to say. Oh, right. I also want to say that I've long forgotten what our parents looked like, but I've always felt like you're my father. You've sacrificed a lot and given me all you have ever since we were little. You raised me up, gave me a place to stay, and even found me a wife.

"I hope to see you in the afterlife. That way, I'll be able to repay all of my gratitude. That's all I wanna say, Tony. Yours sincerely, Jay Carling."

Once Matthew had finished reading the letter, he felt a pang in his heart. He couldn't truly understand these feelings because he didn't have a brother. Still, he instinctively thought about his role as a father, and he admired Tony even more because of it.

Tony picked up the chair that had fallen to the ground before he slowly took a seat in it. His frail and aging body seemed to have aged up a decade instantly. He brought his thin and withered hands up to his face to cover it.

After what felt like an eternity, he took his hands away from his face and revealed his eyes that were brimming with tears. Tony looked at Matthew and said, "Matthew, you can take this medical literature with you, but I need your help with something."

When Matthew heard that Tony was giving him the medical literature, he felt relieved and delighted. He had been eyeing the Vital Restorative Remedies for a long time now, and the value of this particular medical literature held a lot of weight to him.

Now that he had finally gotten his hands on it, Matthew replied without hesitation, "What is it?"

Tony contemplated for a bit before he said, "Take this medical literature with you, but find me an informant to spread the news, saying that I've got the medical literature in my hands."
