Chapter 223
Chapter 223
"The butler and servants told me." Ernest Jones said, "I guess they were just trying to comfort me. I've
asked my dad before. But, my dad told me that he was the only person I have."
Gary pursed his lips and said, "Your father is funny. How was it possible for him to give birth to you?"
"Maybe it's his way of telling me to give up on the hope of ever seeing my mother," Ernest said. Then,
he looked in the direction of the kitchen. He felt envy.
"It's so nice to have Mommy and Little Auntie," he thought to himself.
"So, you said that your mommy in the United States? She's so far away and she's not coming back?
Your mother is weird." Little Gary looked at Ernest and asked.
Ernest was eating an apple. He thought for a moment and shook his head. He said, "I've never seen
my mother before. I don't know what she looks like."
"Well, you can just look at my mommy. All the mommies in the world look like her. She is so gentle. She
never scolds me. She never lost her temper around me." Little Gary said.
Ernest did not say anything. He was yearning for a mother.
Then, Little Gary pointed to the kitchen and said,
"Even my Auntie is the same. They know that I have no father. They try to give me all the love that they
can offer. All they want is for me to be happy."
"The butler in my house and Uncle Charm also loves me very much, just like your Auntie. I feel that
Uncle Charm was like a mom to me."
"Who's Uncle Charm?" Gary was confused.
"You haven't seen him before. You'll get a chance to meet him next time."
"Okay."
Both of them were chatting while eating.
Grace and Alice were cooking in the kitchen.
Soon, dinner was ready. The dishes were being served on the table. Four of them sat at the table
together.
Grace and Ernest both went for the same piece of beef as soon as they started eating.
Grace was surprised when they both went for the same piece.
Ernest was surprised as well.
Alice and Little Gary were also shocked.
They were both looking at Grace and Ernest.
Grace smiled and said, "Ernest, do you want this piece?"
"I'm sorry, Auntie." Ernest put down the fork and said.
Grace put the beef into Ernest's plate and said, "No worries, you can have it." "Thank you, Auntie."
"So, you like to eat beef also?"
"Yes. I like it very much." Ernest nodded his head as he replied. A little shy.
"Did you see that, Auntie? They both seem like they are mother and son. They have the same taste!"
Little Gary said.
"Hey, are you jealous?" Alice teased.
"Nope. I wish that Ernest was my brother. We get along so well with each other." Little Gary said.
Grace and Alice looked at each other and smiled.
Grace asked, "Why did you say so, Little Gary?"
"Both of us won't be lonely anymore if we had each other," Gary said. Then, he pushed the plate of
beef to Ernest and said, "Ernest, please eat more. Look at the dishes on the table. There are no
vegetables at all. We love to eat meat."
Alice burst into laughter and said, "That's true. Sister, did you realize? These are all meat."
There were ribs, shredded meat, beef and diced chicken on the table. They were no vegetables at all.
Grace couldn't help but laugh. She said, "Yeah, it's a good thing that Ernest has the same taste in food
as us. Otherwise, he'll go home hungry."
All of them laughed together.
Alice raised the cup filled with yogurt and said, "C'mon. Let's have a toast to Ernest. We have to
welcome him into our home." "Cheers!" Little Gary raised his cup and shouted.
Ernest raised the glass filled with milk and stood up. He looked at Grace and Alice and said politely,
"Thank you for having me here today. I'm very happy. It's my great honor to be your guest. Thank you
for your hospitality."
Alice laughed, "You're so polite, Ernest."
"Thank you for your compliment, Auntie," Ernest said. Then, he drank a big mouthful of milk after
clinking the glasses with them. He had an adorable milk mustache on him.
Grace quickly took a piece of tissue paper and gently wiped his mouth clean.
"Thank you, Auntie."
"Ernest, you don't have to thank us. Hurry up and eat. Your butler is waiting for you. Next time, when
you come over, you have to tell them not to wait up for you. You can stay for the night. We can sleep on
the same bed and then wake up to go to kindergarten together." Little Gary said.
That was a great idea. However, Ernest wasn't sure whether his father would agree with this or not.
"I'll ask my father later," Ernest said. He felt his father would reject him.
All of a sudden, Grace's mobile phone rang.
"You guys go ahead and eat. I'm going to answer a phone call." Grace said.
She walked to the door and took out the mobile phone from her bag. She looked at it and saw that it
was Heinz Jones who was calling.
Grace frowned and answered the phone call. She walked away from the dining area and said, "What's
up?"
Heinz was unhappy after hearing what Grace said. He said, "Can't I call you whenever I like?"
Grace said, "Of course, you can. Have you eaten yet?"
"No. I don't have any appetite to eat when I'm alone." Heinz said grumpily.
Grace remained silent because she didn't know what to reply.
"Please come over and accompany me tonight." He said bluntly.
Grace said, "I can't."
"Your sister is an adult. Why do you need to keep her company?" Heinz could not help but grumbled.
"I want to set a good example for her," Grace said.
"Well, I guess you'll end up as a lonely old lady then," Heinz said grumpily. He thought, 'What the hell?
How can she abandon me for her sister?
Grace bit her lip and walked back into the house. She closed the door and said, "I'm not going over
tonight. Please go and have your dinner."
"No. If you don't come over, I will not eat." He was starting to throw his tantrum.
"Well, fine then. I can't help it if you don't want to eat." Grace said bluntly.
"Grace! How can you not care about my feelings at all?" Heinz said. He took a deep puff of his Property © 2024 N0(v)elDrama.Org.
cigarette.
Grace knew what he was thinking. He wanted to continue what they had started in the morning.
Thinking about this, Grace did not want to continue talking to him.
"I've told you this morning that I will not be going over to your place," Grace said.
"I need you," He said again.
Upon hearing this, Grace blushed. He was so shameless! How could he still be so persistent after she
had rejected him numerous times?
"Did you hear what I said?" Heinz asked again when Grace did not say anything.
Grace said, "I really don't have the time."
"It just looks to me that you don't want to spend your time with me. Having no time is just your excuse."
Heinz said.
Grace was speechless after hearing what he said. She said, "Well, fine then. I'll be frank with you. I
don't want to spend the night at your place."
"So does that mean that we can still go out on a date during the day? That works well for me too. Well,
let me know when you're free," Heinz said. He didn't want to let her go at all.
